Set off up to Small Water (coffee) & then gradually up the hill behind the tarn up to Nan Bield. From there we ascended Harter Fell. From the top of Harter Fell we descended to Gatesgarth Pass & then up again (bit of a slog) up to Branstree. From Branstree we walked past the 'monoliths' & on to Selside ( I diverted to look at the 'Pillar'). After Selside we descended in an easterly direction & joined the Old Corpse Road & followed it down to the road by Haweswater. [with] Jen [weather] Fairly still with some cold wind on the tops. Cloud developed but there was no wind. - Some interesting ruined buildings on the way down.

[weather] Sunny with very little breeze making it quite hot for walking. - Artlecrag Pike now has two prominent cairns although I only seem to remember one from my last visit a few years ago? The higher of the two is the original I think. The actual summit of Branstree is marked by an ordnance stone circle & a small cairn. As would be expected for such a flat top views are limited especially towards the rest of Lakeland by the High Street range & Harter Fell.

The cairn at the summit is all but non-existent, a common problem on the grassy fell tops.

Up the Old Copse Road to Selside Pike then across the ridge in a horseshoe to the last Wainwright which was Kidsty pike. [with] We took a Spanish boy called Seb who loved it and introduced him to Tunnock's Caramel Wafers. Oviously Marcus was with me. Navigating in extream conditions!
