In-use Test:

Keen's Alamosa has a low cut design and is described (by Keen) as a Trail shoe. I've been wearing it primarily for a variety of low level walking (canal towpaths, asphalt paths, woodland/forest walking) and nordic walking sessions.

I found the fit good - I was wearing my usual walking boot size. It's quite broad at the front which suited my feet quite well especially when they were hot.

The shoe bends quite easily at the toe but does have lateral rigidity which is better than other low cut shoes I've tried. The inner sole and tongue is well padded. The sole has a quite aggressive tread that certainly provided good traction on wet asphalt and grass. Overall my feet felt well supported and comfortable whether walking slowly or at speed, and over rockier terrain.

There's a nice robust toe bumper and rubber rand that I'm sure will help reduce the wear and tear.

The upper includes mesh which - although helping in temperature control - did mean that my feet tended to get wet in rain and after splashing through puddles.

Buying Advice:

Keen's Alamosa are a comfortable, well-designed shoes for low level walking, Nordic walking and general outdoor leisure use in dry conditions. May be of particular interest if you like/need a broader fitting shoe.
