Very warm when the sun was out. - As you ascend from the col towards the prominent cairn of Thornthwaite Crag , the main path splits into three. Take the fainter middle path over the slight rise to a boggy depression. Could be confusing in mist. Once the wall is joined just follow it to the broad grassy summit of High Street. The views are great, particularly of the Helvellyn- Fairfield range.
