Drizzle, turning to rain & rough winds - Good views back over Braithwaite & rainbow framing the village. A few routes to get into Barrow. Richard Fulcher climbed Outerside on September 29th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked in the small quarry car park on the left near the start of the Whinlatter Pass after passing through Braithwaite. The path up to Grisedale Pike leaves from this car park & wends up & around the hills up to the peak - a fairly continuous climb with the craggiest part near the top. From Grisedale we headed across to Hobcarton Crag, veering off to the left down to Coledale Hause & then approached Crag Hill from the back near Wandope Moss. From Crag Hill we worked our way down & across to Sail the along the ridge to Scar Crags & Causey Pike. We reversed from CP & traversed across to the main path at High Moss. I then climbed up Outerside & slipped & slid down the wet rocks to Low Moss (very tricky after rain) & eventually met up with Jen at Barrow Door. I declined Barrow as I'd had enough! One for another day! We returned down the easy path that gently slopes down the side of Barrow. [with] Jen [weather] Sunshine & showers, occasional gusts of wind. - A tiring but rewarding walk.
Claire Kirk bagged Outerside on August 28th, 2022 [from/via/route] Braithwaite [with] Sam [weather] Warm, clear day
