James Hughes walked up on May 8th, 2025 [from/via/route] c245 Blencathra from Mungrisdale [weather] Cloudy at times, otherwise sunny. Warm when sheltered. Cool breeze with strong breeze on tops. - Awesome climb up Hall's Fell from White Horse in Scales. Technical in places with good scrambling. Admired Sharp Edge on way to Atkinson Pike. Descent to Mungrisdale Common, peaty in places. Great view across to Skiddaw. Return to Bannerdale Crags before ascent of Bowscale Fell. Easy descent into Mungrisdale before final climb of Souter Fell. Clear path down Mousthwaite Comb & return on road to White Horse. Pint of Corby Blonde.

Richard Fulcher bagged it on April 18th, 2023 [from/via/route] Parked at the bottom of Mousthwaite Comb (room for 6 or 7 cars). Scales Fell to Blencathra, along to top of Sharp Edge & then followed path by Foule Crag. Turned left & followed wide path to MC & then back along another boggy path to the col below Bannerdale Crags. I followed the clear path past the old Lead mine & down to the foot bridge, then up to the top of Mousthwaite Comb & back the way I'd walked up. [weather] Low cloud, visibility poor to very poor. Cold & then warm! A bit of a breeze but nothing to shout about. - No particular problems apart from the dull boggy stretch to MC.
Christine Shepherd hiked it on August 27th, 2010 [from/via/route] Walked to this 'summit' after climbing Blencathra via Hall's Fell Ridge. Climbed again on 10.08.2021 using walk c245 Repeated walk c245 on 3.4.2023 [with] On my own [weather] Hot & Sunny - Met a fellow peak bagger on Blencathra who came with me to bag this.

So Mumgrisdale, Souther Fell, Blencathra, Atkinson Pike, Mungrisdale Common, Bannerdale Craggs, Bowscale Fell, back over Tarn Crags Top & Raven Crags. [with] With Tess, and Richard Macilwaine a fell running friend. [weather] Beautiful day, broken cloud, cool at times, 10mph wind. - Spotted a Red Squirrel on at the start, lots of swallows on Blencathra! plenty skylarks & then we saw a hare just as we were returning into Mungrisdale. Busy on Blencathra.
Kate Peacock bagged it on April 23rd, 2022 [from/via/route] Dropped off near the pub at Mungrisedale to ascend Souther Fell, nice path up. Walked down the front of Blencathra [with] Me & Sheila [weather] No rain. Winds were crazy after Blencathra but we expected that. - We didn't descend as advised off Bowscale Fell as it would have been quite steep & the winds were a distraction. Slightly wrong twice coming down the front of Blencathra instead but we got there
Tony Halliday hiked it on March 18th, 2022 [from/via/route] Circular walk starting at the white horse pub bunkhouse where we stayed taking in Blencathra catgill fell top mungrisdale common & bowscale fell [with] My boarder terrier jimmy boo and George also my wife sal [weather] The weather was cool dry sunny & clear but with a cool wind - Nice circular roughly 12 miles tough start a lot of ups & steep climbs & a gruelling downs tough on legs possibly 4 mile too long great views Blencathra is a great mountain with excellent views on a clear day this wainwright was pretty poor very boggy & wet with difficult cairn to find not great really
Richard Marchant summited on March 5th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked at the hamlet of Mungrisdale & then proceeded West along the River Glenderamackin & followed the track south of the The Tongue & up Bannerdale on to the ridge. From here I went North on to Bowscale then South on to Bannerdale Craggs. West on ro Mungrisdale Common & back again & down the valley Southwest following the River Glenderamackin again & veering off up on to Souther Fell & back to the car [with] On my own [weather] Glorious sunny day with blue skies hardly any wind & a frost first thing.
