James Hughes walked up Brae Fell on May 15th, 2025 [from/via/route] c163 Great Sca Fell from Over Water [weather] Beautiful sunny day. - Wonderful walk from car park at Over Water. Enjoyable walk along road before ascending up towards Great Cockup. Delightful small shelter dug into ground just before climb to summit. Double top with summit marked with smaller cairn. Easy if not steep descent into Trusmasdor before stiff climb to top of Meal. Characterful fell with basin & three distinct tops marked by cairns & shelter. Highest point nearer Great Sca Fell. Easy walk down & then power climb to Great Sca Fell marked with impressie cairn. Enjoyable bounce across to Little Sca Fell then Brae Fell. Curved back around over Lowthwaite & Longlands before rejoining Cumbria Way to rejoin road back to Over Water. Possible to descend directly down from Longlands to road.

We went wrong around Trusmadoor coming off Gt Cock up which meant we walked around in circles crossing the beck several times! otherwise it was very straight forward. Luckily Kate was there to share navigational thoughts.Finished up at the Farriers Arms in Threlkeld a for beer afterwards.
