Cat Bells - Maiden Moor - High Spy - down the Riggsdale Quarries - along the river back... [with] On my own [weather] Easter warmth - little wind & clear views all the way was incredible. - Over excited parking = parking ticket... And then coming down, & thinking about 2 more days of hiking I managed to twist my knee in a way that caused so much pain it's untrue. Writing this at the end of the weekend, I'm just glad it's ok & led to other things.
Clare Tait climbed it on March 24th, 2024 [from/via/route] Our no:91 Wainwright A 3.45 get up to take advantage of the promised fair weather. Good thing we left the midlands early as we literally grabbed the last of the parking spots at the base of Catbells. Absolutely beautiful walk up & enjoyed the craggy areas. We had the summit to ourselves. Then went onward to Maiden Moor. Sadly, neither of us is fit enough for the half Newlands which we would have done a few years ago. We descended to walk back around the base & enjoyed stunning views. Fabulous view. Well worth the early start [with] Charlie [weather] Perfect walking weather with some blue sky & great visibility.

Climbed this peak again in June 2005 & 16.7.05 & on 15.9.11 as part of the Newlands Horseshoe. This was the last, very welcome fell in the 10 in 10 challenge on 22.6.19

Gentle stroll then back to the car. [with] Jen [weather] Mostly gentle winds & a bright but hazy day. Cold on the tops especially when the sun disappeared behind the cloud. A great weather day overall. - Easier to ascend Robinson by the ridge route than to descend.

This walk was basically the Newlands Round although we didn't take in Hindscarth. We started with the ascent of Cat Bells & basically followed the ridge up to High Spy taking in Maiden Moor & then dipped down before ascending Dale Head. With my Mum being a bit tired we missed Hindscarth out & carried on along the ridge to Robinson & then cut down in to the Newlands valley & worked out way back to the car. Another lovely memory for me. [with] Mum & Dad [weather] A fine day with no wind & wall to wall sunshine - Carried out the Newlands round horseshoe with my Mum & was taken during a weeks holiday in the Lakes with Mum & my Dad although I just went out walking up the mountains with my Mum as my Dad was not fit enough to join us. We stopped at a self catering cottage at Dockray. Probably the last holiday I had away from Dorset with my Mum & Dad,
