Sarah Moore climbed Clough Head on October 8th, 2022 [from/via/route] c239 / The Deepdale Round [with] On my own [weather] Variable - cooler as befits Autumn but the mist / rain came in a couple of times. Still loved it - Not sure about the ascent of Clough Head & walking back along the road felt a bit of a cop out - but a great walk & more peaks ticked off!
Michael Nolan bagged Clough Head on September 14th, 2022 [with] Morag [weather] lovely day - stupidly tried a shortcut alongside the rake....on point of asking to be rescued!
Christine Shepherd hiked Clough Head on October 27th, 2010 [from/via/route] I walked from Red Moss using walk c176. [with] On my own [weather] showery but bright - This was my second attempt to bag Clough Head. The first was aborted in mist. Didn't really enjoy the long walk in before the ascent; probably better with others to chat to. Climbed again on 31.07.20 on a gloriously sunny day using walk c239 Repeated walk c239 on 27.07.2022 but walked further along the Old Coach Road before climbing up to Clough Head via White Pike. This was a much clearer & easier path than the one from Mariel Bridge.
Caroline Winter summited Clough Head on April 15th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked on road to Threlkeld mining museum, track past Setmabanning caravan park, direct line up , Clough Head, return to to Great Dodd & descent of Clough Head towards Matterdale [with] Becky [weather] Warm & windy - Good Friday walk. Road past Setmabanning did not seem to correspond to my old OS map. After this straight forward. Found the direct acsent to Clough Head quite tough going
Richard Marchant conquered Clough Head on September 16th, 2021 [from/via/route] I parked the car in St John's in the Vale & ascended Clough Head first via Wanthaite Bank from here carried on South along the ridge taking in Calfhow Pike, Great Dodd, Watson's Dodd, Stybarrow Dodd then down to Sticks Pass & up to Raise from here I back tracked down to Sticks Pass. I proceeded down to Stybeck Farm along the A591 & ascended High Rigg on the way back to the car. [with] By Myself. Clare Tait scaled Clough Head on July 25th, 2021 [from/via/route] From High Row car park taking in Clough Head [with] Charlie [weather] Warm, blue sky, great walking weather. Perfect. - No 64 Wainwright. Stayed in Glenridding & set off early as had been advised parking is limited. Set off at 8. Perfect! No boggy ground as it had dried out, only soft grass until the old coach road which went on seemingly for ever. The horseflies were evil though & Charlie got three bites!
