James Hughes walked up on August 16th, 2025 [from/via/route] c328 The Greendale Horseshoe [weather] Warm & generally sunny - Short but pleasant circular. Parked at Greendale & short jaunt on the road before climbing next to Gill Beck up to Buckbarrow. Short down & up to Cat Bields before long gentle climb up to Seatallan summit. Impressive views over to Caw Fell & Haycock. Some path finding difficulty off top & followed instructions which was not ideal path down form Trig point. Better to head right towards Middle Fell. Descent off Seatallan is steep. Reasonably easy climb up to Middle Fell. Great views across Wasdale towards Scafell range from summit. Straightforward descent to Greendale Tarn path before dropping back down to Greendale. Drove to Nether Wasdale to The Strand. Nice pint of Errmm.

Christine Shepherd summited on May 9th, 2009 [from/via/route] Walked from Greendale using walk c328 Climbed again 22.08.2021 Climbed for a third time on 22.10.23 using walk c328 again but doing it in reverse. Spent some time exploring the little ridges & viewing cairns on Buckbarrow; lovely. [with] On my own [weather] Started off in sunshine but was soon walking in hailstone & mist.

Richard Fulcher scaled on February 5th, 2023 [from/via/route] Parked near Harrow Head & walked up the farm track 400 yards before turning up the bracken covered hillside. We headed towards Gray Crag & Cat Bields. Jen went straight up to Glade How whilst I diverted via Cat Bields. We then walked over to Buckbarrow & sat on the edge to admire the views whilst eating our sandwiches. We returned via the path next to Gill Beck. [with] Jen [weather] Cold but calm day, with approx 10 mph wind on the tops. We managed to het back down to the lake to photograph the last hour of sunlight highlighting the fells. - A good warm up walk after winter flu & colds.
Richard Marchant walked up on October 2nd, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked at Greendale & headed North up alongside Greendale Gill & after 500m followed the ridge NE up onto Middle Fell then carried on NW up onto Seatallan then final headed South down to Buckbarrow, from here I went SW to Gill Beck & down to the road & back to Greendale. [with] On my Own [weather] Misty & low clouds to start with but then the Sun came out mid morning.

[with] Margaret & Ralph [weather] Excellent sunny day with high visibility all round. - With all the lockdowns attributed to Covid 19, this was our first Wainright since completing Middle Dodd & Red Screes on 05/09/2020. We then continued on to Seatallan for number 172 out of the 214. This walk provided stunning scenery the entire way with the Scafell's the stand out.

Followed c328 The Greendale Horseshoe. [with] Sue [weather] Fair, sunny at times, overcast at others, cool breeze on top of Middle Fell. - Visibility varied but could clearly see the ridge of last week's walk on the other side of Wastwater. Car parking area is on the left, just beyond the large private parking area on the right.

The path leading to the summit was not clear so had to rely on my compass, after circumnavigating Long Crag & Bull Crag we made it. [with] Gillian [weather] Sunny but cold day. low cloud came in as we approached Seatallan. - Parked car, (free), on grass verge near Greendale. Commenced the walk at 1045 hrs. The route taken was quite boggy in places. Got back to the car at 1530 hrs. Thoroughly enjoyable.
