Hilary Hardwick summited Carnedd Moel Siabod on June 4th, 2017 [from/via/route] started from Moel Siabod Cafe in Capel Curig & walked a short distance along A5 crosses & started ascent to Dolwyddelan, scrambled up Daear Ddu to summit & descended down Plas Y Brenin back to Castle Curig [with] we went with Snowdon Walks, we were on a Mountain Skills course with them for the weekend, there were 4 of us on the walk along with 2 guides [weather] But cloudy & a small amount of rain as we set off, clear & sunny when got to summit & a tad windy - loved it out first mountain, loved the scrambling part, had a great day with great company, fun was had by all

Gerald Murphy hiked Carnedd Moel Siabod on September 27th, 2011 [from/via/route] Dolwydellan [with] alone [weather] fine & sunny at first but towards 11am the cloud base descended, the wind increased, the temperature dropped & visibility became very restricted - The route was from a book about walks east of Dolwydellan. The directions were fine at first but after reaching the forest everything went to Hell in a handbasket. The forest staff were clearing acres of trees - completely destroying the paths & landmarks. Their tracked vehicles had chewed the ground to inches deep mud. Finding Llyn Foel was a nightmare of try & try again. Finding my way back via the same route was even worse. I couldn't believe how many directions led via boggy heather & high tufted ground to dead ends. Next time I'm going from Pont Cyfyng!
