Ray O'Hara hiked Pen-y-ghent on August 23rd, 2012 [from/via/route] NY112 & NY135. I walked NY112 over Penyghent & Plover Hill as far as the cattle grid at SD87221 74498 then walked backwards round NY135 over Darnbrook Fell & Fountains Fell. The NY135 route was still easy to follow when walked in reverse. [weather] Fairly overcast, with some sunny spells - The route up Penyghent from Dale Head was the Pennine Way, impossible to get lost and well made and well drained path. Unfortunately the summit was lost in cloud when I arrived as I was looking forward to the views.

Two visits were on previous 'Three peaks' and the other a shorter walk with my niece Suzy.

Streams that did'nt exist in dry weather had to be waded knee deep!!
