The highest point of this walk is Pen y Fan at 886m (2907ft). Pen y Fan is the highest point in The Brecon Beacons National Park and the highest point in the county of Powys. Pen y Fan is classified as a Welsh Mountain (Hewitt) (19th highest in Wales, 31st highest in England & Wales) and a Wainwright (No. ). Pen y Fan is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (21st in Wales, 36th in England & Wales). Pen y Fan is classified as a Marilyn (10th highest in Wales, 258th highest in the UK).

Completing this walk also take you to the top of Corn Du, 873m (2865ft). Corn Du is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (23rd in Wales, 41st in England & Wales).

You will also reach the summit of Cribyn, 795m (2609ft). Cribyn is classified as a Welsh Mountain (Hewitt) (37th highest in Wales, 82nd highest in England & Wales) and a Wainwright (No. ). Cribyn is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (46th in Wales, 99th in England & Wales).

Along the way you will also bag Fan y Big, 719m (2359ft) Fan y Big was removed from the list of Welsh Hewitts (Welsh Mountains) due to insufficient prominence - August, 2018 - a Welsh Nuttall (78th Wal, 187th Eng & Wal).
