Richard Marchant climbed Harter Fell (Eskdale) on September 17th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked at at a forest car park about 4 miles from Cockley Beck further down in Dunnerdale. From here I walked North up to Hard Knott Pass & across the road up to Hard Knott. I returned to the pass & headed south up on to Harter Fell then on again to Green Cragg. Then from here I headed Eastward across the moor to Dunnerdale Forest & descended back to the car. [with] On my Own [weather] Clear Sunny day with little or no breeze.

Kevin Foster bagged Harter Fell (Eskdale) on January 24th, 2022 [from/via/route] Burka Bridge. [with] By myself. [weather] Misty with low cloud. - Summit rocks quite slippery but manageable with care. Zero visibility.

Christine Shepherd hiked Harter Fell (Eskdale) on October 29th, 2009 [from/via/route] I walked from the bottom of Hardknott Pass. [with] On my own [weather] Showery - Just went up & down by the same route as my husband was waiting in the car. Climbed again from Birks Bridge on 21.11.2021 straight up & down. I came down the steep descent in the dark with a head torch.I was glad to see the car.

[weather] Beautiful sunny 12 degrees - Followed the forest road around the summit which is very pleasant, some scrambling to the top once out of the forest & decided to come down the most direct route , as shown on the map, which is quite a scramble.

Picked up a path next to the wall & climbed through the Ferns steeply onto Harter Fell summit. Trace your steps until you see a path that leads straight down the hill side. At the bottom you will see a stile climb over & there is a path that leads you to Green Crag (path can be boggy in places. We retraced our steps off the peak to the right as you climb Green crag & you pick up a path that leads you all the way back to Doctor Bridge. [with] Sue [weather] Sunny & hot

Followed walk c402 took a couple of wrong turns along the way. [with] Romany [weather] Sunny with some clouds & some wind. - There is no cattle grid top of Hard Knott Pass as stated on the directions. Headed back via roman hill fort from Hard Knott back down road as we ran out of time to finish.

Took the scenic route through the ferns up into the mist to Harter Fell Top. [with] Christine Eyes [weather] Cloudy with a lot of heavy rain & strong wind.

[with] Charlie [weather] Bright sunshine & high temperatures. - Boggy start to the route in the forest section leading to a grassy route up to the top. Amazing views over to the Isle of Man but the top was plagued by insects which meant we couldn't stay to enjoy the whole vista.Underestimated the effects of the unusually hot weather & were feeling rather shaky by the time we got down. Charlie took a tumble & gashed his hand. Were glad to get to the river & the shade!
