The Monadhliath Mountains area of Scottish Region 9: The Glen Roy & Monadhliath Mountains region is the area enclosed by an imaginary line connecting:
- Inverness to Boat of Garten via the A9 through Tomatin to the North East
- Boat of Garten to Laggan (Badenoch) via the A9 through Aviemore & Kingussie and then the A86 through Newtownmore to the South East
- Laggan (Badenoch) to Laggan (Loch Lochy) via the River Spey, Loch Spey, Garvamore and Melgarve, Loch Spey to Turret Bridge via the River Roy & then Glen Turret, Allt Teanga Bige & Allt an t-Sidhein to the South
- Laggan (Loch Lochy) to Inverness via the Caledonian Canal, Loch Oich and Loch Ness from to the North West
If you count only the Corbetts there are 6 tops to climb, bag & conquer and the highest point is Gairbeinn at 896m (2,941ft).
