Incrediwear are the manufacturer of a sock range with some intriguing claims. The fibre combination used in the socks is said to demonstrably improve blood flow in the feet which in turn allows more oxygen to the tissues improving comfort and mobility. As well as socks for Outdoor Pursuits, the Incredisock range includes products for Athletics, for everyday use and for Diabetics.
The Hiking socks I've been trying out have a quite understated look. They are a relatively short cut and although the fabric feels quite soft to the touch, it also feels quite robust. It's also quite elastic particularly around the ankle and at the arch of the foot. There is no seam around the toe.
I've been wearing them with approach shoes and also with lighter weight hiking boots and they have indeed been very comfortable. I found them to be a relatively close fit - they almost seem to hug my feet. Crucially they stay absolutely in place - certainly no bunching at all.
So far I've been wearing them during some relatively mild winter weather - but more recently in much more seasonal (ie cold) conditions. Despite their relatively light weight, my feet have been lovely and warm. (I am someone who suffers often from cold hands and feet - so this has been very welcome.)
After several days' use there was absolutely no sign of any odour build-up at all.
It is suggested that the carbonised bamboo fibre used in these socks has thermo-regulation properties; ie as well as warming up cold feet (in winter conditions) it should also cool hot feet (in summer conditions). I look forward to trying them out in Summer!

Even without a complete understanding of the underlying science (and despite the name!), the Incredisocks Trek/Hiking socks do seem a very comfortable option for use with approach shoes or lighter weight walking boots. Their odour masking properties make them a very attractive options for multi-day walks.
