I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Near Exeter

My Message: Hi,I'm looking to meet with similar minded people who enjoy being out in the countryside, hills and moors. I walk to try and keep a bit fit,keep the weight off and so I can have the occasional slice of cake.

Dartmoor is my main stomping ground in rain or shine but enjoy walking anywhere. I would like to explore more of the South West coast path in the future.

I have mainly walked in South West England and South Wales but also north Wales, Scotland and overseas.
I can walk on weekends and some evenings. I have a good sense of direction and would be confident navigating us home if the fog came down.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
Wales; South West England;

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .
