I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Beckfoot Near Silloth, Cumbria

My Message: Kindred spirits who like the great outdoors have a laugh and can chat about anything and everything but shy doesn't bother me either. I really prefer the Lake District, have loved walking in it for years and can't get enough of it. I have walked everywhere in the Lakes but have also walked in Scotland and the Mourne mountains in N. Ireland. I can go walking on any day of the week at any time barring other appointments. I am 70 but still very fit, retired from first of all a career in the Navy where I served in submarines and after that a career in the police. I take my camera everywhere with me and put the pictures taken on my FB page for my friends home and abroad to enjoy. My Black Labrador Sweep goes everywhere with me, he is 12 now and slowing down but we all go there. I would be more than happy to answer any questions that anyone has and I will answer them honestly. When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have a car.
