I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Brighton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm Jo,
I'm passionate about the outdoors and in particular the mountains. I completed my mountain leader training 6 years ago so would like to complete my assessment..sometime soon and before I'm too old!! My walking has mostly involved Wales and the Lake District with work colleagues but I have finally discovered Scotland (better late than never) and plan to do much more walking there. Living on the South Coast and working full time makes mountain trips difficult but at least I can walk my dog on the South Downs in between. I hope being on this group will create more opportunities to plan trips and meet new people to walk with.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; North West England; Wales; South East England;

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Qualified Lowland Leader (LL) - Mountain Training Association. I am a Qualified Hill and Moorland Leader (formerly Walking Group Leader (WGL)) - Mountain Training Association.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Colchester hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I love the outdoors, nature, birdwatching and walking. I'm a bit of an eco warrior and try to contribute to conservation in my own small way. I am pretty fit and sometimes have too much energy for my own good. I jog a few miles each week, I'm on a fitness program at a gym and I do Pilates. I also like swimming but only really in the sea or in open water. I have a little Romahome campervan and I spent a lot of time away in it this summer. I'd like to meet a like-minded gentleman who enjoys a walk and good conversation. If you like to dive into a tea shop at the end of a walk, that's even better! I'm happy with about 7 miles a day. Over 10 miles is a bit far - but that's not to say I would rule longer distances out. My other interests are art and visiting galleries, volunteering for my local wildlife trust, beekeeping and lots of other things, too many to list here.

Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Elstead, Surrey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi my names Luke and I'm looking to make some new friends like-minded walking companions. My previous walking buddy recently moved to New Zealand so looking for someone to fill his boots.

I'm fairly new to hiking but have done a few wild camping excursions in the Scottish Highlands, Wales and Snowdonia..I've bagged a few munros including Sgurr Alasdair-Isle of Skye, Nevis, Buachaille Etive Mòr also done Snowdon and some other Welsh peaks. I am now keen to do Scafell pike!

I work as a head gardener so the love the great outdoors come rain or shine. I would mostly be looking at weekend hikes or daytrips to the lakes,Wales or Scotland. I have a basic campervan which makes things easier. I have an Alaskan malamute who sometimes accompanies me if possible.

Someone fairly close to my area would be good as I'm also keen for local walks at other times. Please get in touch if you think we'd get along and would like to plan some adventures.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Chesterfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hiya, I'm Lynn alias 'Miss Outdoorsy' as staying at home drives me up the walls! I like anything outdoors, love adventure & travel & my passion is mountains. I love the ridge & scrambling routes & have done Crib Goch, Snowdon, Striding Edge & Swirral Edge, Sharp Edge in Lakes to name a few. I've done a lot of walking in Peaks, Snowdonia, Lakes, Brecons, Yorkshire Dales & love them all. I'm just as happy with a hike in the Peaks as scrambling up Sharp Edge. I live near Chesterfield so Peaks & Yorkshire Dales are easy for me to get to but I don't mind travelling. Im very easy going with good sense of humour & like the well deserved stop in the pub at the end of the walk! Well I'm Scottish after all! Would love to hear from you for hiking soon.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Swindon hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm Karen. I'm single and now that I am retired I have a lot more time to go walking just for an afternoon or a day (week days and weekends) or for weeks.

I'd like to meet up with other walkers to continue to do the SW Coast Path (I have done form Poole to nearly Plymouth and am happy to do other bits in any order), Offa's Dyke, the Coast to Coast or West Highland Way from 2017 onwards.

I've walked the Thames Path from my home as I live on the Wiltshire / Gloucestershire borders, as well as most of my local walks and many more all over the UK - on my own and many in groups; always much more fun and interesting. I have a car and am happy to travel and go for walks all over the UK and abroad; I will tackle hills; have done Snowdon and other fairly high spots like the Jurassic Coast but my knees now really prefer fewer or shorter or less steep climbs. I love watching for wildlife along the way and would love to share the scenery and enjoyment with male or female friends, and maybe meet that special man here. Its great to have a bit of a laugh and a chat along the way, especially if interspersed with stop offs for a cuppa or at a pub.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Birkdale hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I like to get out in the hills as often as possible but I don't go bagging Munros just to get back and tick it off a list.
I go to enjoy the beauty of our country and take my time and breath in fresh air.
I love Caledonia, the north west highlands to me are the most beautiful place on planet earth and I've traveled extensively.
I don't go climbing or in the snow and ice anymore as I have done in the past.
I don't mind it being cold and fresh though. I always go into the mountains fully prepared, map, compass, waterproofs etc. Just common sense things because anything can happen at any time.
I have done a lot of walking in Scotland but also enjoy the lakes, and the dales etc, doesn't have to be a long or high up walk, pleasurable and fun is what it's all about to me.
Would like to meet others to enjoy a good time out and about, not just on high peaks, any walk can be a good one, it's what you make of it. Finding a nice pub at the end is a bonus too.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Western Beacons hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi my name is Roger and I live near the Western Beacons in Wales. Since taking early retirement from teaching I now work freelance delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme mostly in the Peak District, Lake District, Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons but I'm available for training, supervising and assessing anywhere during the expedition season. When I'm on DofE I'll use my day van and stay on campsites, out of season I'll stay in a Youth Hostel or find an Air BnB near the area I'm exploring. In addition to walking I like visiting interesting places like National Trust properties and exploring different parts of the coast and countryside in the UK, Ireland and abroad. I am a Female Walker, in my late 30s, based near Preston hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
I'm Catherine, 40 from Preston. I have done quite a lot of walking, mainly in the Lakes and North Wales but other areas too.I would like to do more in Scotland. I have also done some treks abroad. I have previously walked a lot with my parents but they are getting past the long and high stuff now. Also I met a great walking partner on here about 8 years ago but she has moved abroad for work! I'm now struggling to get out walking as I don't want to go by myself. I love anything outdoors, pretty much any weather. I love camping and a good pint after a walk. I'm looking for people aged 35-48 who would like to go on day walks to begin with to see how we get on. Anyway, drop me a line if you'd like to make contact and get out walking. Thanks

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Wirral hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm an adventurous hiker, walking long distances but also chill out shorter strolls in North Wales, Peak District and Lake District. I'm wishing to meet a female walker friend maybe more who enjoys long walks and which we can enjoy the beautiful countryside and mountains of Britain. I'm currently after Marilyn's in the UK, walking usually on weekends but have a week in the Lake District coming up in late September. If you would like a week of walking please contact me.

I'm active away from walking being a keen cyclist, I enjoy history and visiting places of interest. I'm very fit, having long legs means I cover distances quicker than most but also love a good scramble and prefer clear weather as I enjoy the views from a good summit.

I've climbed Mt Snowdon, Carnedd Llewelyn, Pen yr Ole Wen, hills of Church Stratton Shropshire and hope to doing some long walks in Lake District September 2019. Some female company would be preferred so we both can enjoy some stunning scenery.

If interested please message me. I'm a keen walker who enjoys the outdoors and would like to share it with someone.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Lincoln Ln2 hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Yvonne I'm 58 and I'm at my most content when walking. I have a 5 year old obedient golden lab called Billie Piper and a nervous rescue dog (collie cross) called Jessica - she's from Romania. Ordinarily we like to take a "decent walk" at week-ends and enjoy the great outdoors (a pub en-route is always a bonus). We often walk around the local Hartsholme Country Park but also enjoy the Wolds and further afield.
I had surgery on my ankle August 2019 so it will be while until I can walk long distance (probably Spring 2020) but I'm already walking a short distance daily - just locally
Would love some company; I like chatting as well as silence.
I look forward to hearing from you...

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi my name is Anne. I am 60 looking for walking companions for either day/weekend/week walks. I have just retired and have a desire to do a lot more walking and/or tour the UK perhaps in a camper van or narrowboat walking and exploring. I have walked the White Peak Way 90 miles a couple of times which is a lovely walk and a couple of other (flat) long distance walks. Not so keen on camping, prefer B&B, Youth Hostel or similar, what a wimp! I like to go at a steady plod...... short or longer walks. I look forward to hearing from you...

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales;

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art and the theatre. I'm vegan ( you don't have to be) and a good cook though do enjoy dining out too. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Wallasey hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Dave and I live on the Wirral and generally walk in North Wales, the Northern fells (Yorkshire & Cumbria) and Scotland. I completed the Munros a few years ago and am gradually working my way through some other hill lists. I head up to Scotland regularly and have a cottage near Torridon. Keen on exploring the many Scottish islands.

Happy to do low level walks, but prefer to gain some height for the views and exercise. Fairly fit and like to keep a steady pace, stopping to look at the scenery and wildlife. I do a lot of driving so don't mind travelling to meet up for walks.

Retired so can walk on any day of the week especially if the weather is good,but do spend some time on other hobbies like DIY, cooking and rock climbing.

Good sense of direction and generally can navigate reliably.
Easy going with a sense of humour and enjoy conversation. Like to visit a pub afterwards for a drink. If you are interesting in joining me then please get in touch.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Barnoldswick hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker, now retired so have more time to get out and about. I walk quite regularly with friends but as they are still working this is confined largely to weekends. We've enjoyed tackling many of the long distance paths over the years. I walk a lot on my own too or, until very recently, with my dog who has now sadly passed away, but would like to meet a like-minded walking buddy, preferably reasonably nearby. It would be good perhaps to share some Wainwright bagging or explore new areas more or less anywhere in the British Isles or even beyond. There are so many places I still want to see and it would be great to do so in good company. I'd love to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bridgend hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

I am a 59 year old male living near Bridgend. I am a keen walker and so enjoy the Great Outdoors. I am looking for a female walking partner who also admires the beauty of our wonderful countryside. I have walked extensively all over the UK and have been on a few European walking holidays too. I enjoy walking on all terrains and in all weathers as I like to be outdoors. I work part time and gig on the weekends with a duo. I teach guitar but have only a handful of students so am pretty flexible regarding walk availability. As to weekends I don't leave until 7pm to go on gigs so as long as we start in the morning it'll be fine. I have my own car and can meet where convenient. I do not drink or smoke and I enjoy the odd run during the week.

Regards,

Al

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near West Kirby hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've just got back into walking recently and quite often go walking with a male friend but I do miss the chemistry a female companion can bring.

In the past I have walked chunks of the Pennine Way and Offa's Dyke path and also in the Alps and the Pyrenees. In recent times I've started walking again in the Clwydians and the Marches areas but also closer to home on the Wirral. I'm doing walks of around 10 miles at the moment and quite happy with that or a shorter walk.

I have a very quirky cheeky sense of humour and love to make a girl laugh. I like doing lots of other things- cooking, football mad, astronomy, bird watching and love a decent box set. I do need someone to give me a bit of a motivational push though sometimes !

My ideal walking partner would have a good sense of humour and be patient if we got lost. A lady who enjoys the outdoors but enjoys the journey rather than seeing a walk as merely a physical challenge. A warm affectionate type with a good heart. No smokers or heavy drinkers thanks !

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Hereford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking for a walking friend who may be retired like myself so that he or she is free to walk during the week as well as at weekends. I walk regularly with a number of groups but prefer to walk at my own pace so that I can stop, take photographs and admire views without being left half a mile behind.
Currently my walking tends to be in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Powys, Monmouthshire, Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons. I really enjoy multi-day linear walking and have done the Pennine Way, Wainwright Coast to Coast, Offa's Dyke, West Highland Way, Cotswold Way and Worcestershire Way. This year I will be walking the Cleveland Way with a Derbyshire based friend.
Although my map reading skills are not brilliant I am proficient with satnavs and always carry a paper map and compass.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello is anyone free to join myself and my dog Cocoa, for hikes at the weekends. I have travelled to hike fairly extensively all over the UK national parks and to mention a few places; have visited Snowdonia, Isle of Skye; Peak District; Cotswolds and parts of Hadrian's Wall. Favourite places are definitely the Lakes and Cairngorms. I would say I am of average fitness and tend to walk fairly slowly but do like to be out all day so roughly aim for about 10 miles a day regardless of terrain. I like to bag 2/3 summits at a time if possible. Definitely want to see what Torridon is like but it's a long way to drive on my own and I hope to visit the Alps and Pyrenees as well as the rest of the world to hike or cycle in the future. i love the adventures with my pup but it would be great to find some company who I can actually hold a conversation with!
