My Message: Hi all, I am an experienced hill and mountain walker, qualified Hill & Moorland Leader with the Mountain Training Association (also a regional volunteer - I have completed my Mountain Leader Course, just never got round to doing the assessment) and an approved Tutor with the National Navigation Award Scheme.
I have completed all 214 Wainwrights (on my 3rd time round) and all 116 Wainwright Outlying Fells, I have also completed both the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and the Lyke Wake Walk numerous times; I try to complete the Lyke Wake Walk at least once a year.
I love been outdoors in all weathers whenever I can get away, mainly weekends. If your interested in meeting up, I tend to go walking in the Lake District, Howgills, North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales, Snowdonia and the Peak District.

I will be doing the following walks:

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Qualified Hill and Moorland Leader (formerly Walking Group Leader (WGL)) - Mountain Training Association. NNAS Tutor Award

I am also interested in:

  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

My name is Matt and I'm looking for hiking buddies.
I'm originally from Essex but moved to Lowestoft last year. I spent 5 years in Australia as an expedition leader and outdoor ed instructor. I have a massive passion for anything outdoorsy.
I enjoy longer hikes and love to wild camp. I'm looking to do the 3 peaks at some point but also very open to any other idea's.
since moving to Lowestoft I have been walking on my own. As much as the solitude is sometimes nice, I would much prefer a bit of company and banter.
Thanks for reading my add.
Happy hiking

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Lincolnshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking, everything about it. What could be better than sitting down with a glass of wine and planning a walk.
Then there's the excitement of arriving at your walks starting point (usually a pub car park if it's a circular walk)
The anticipation as you lace up your boots and the adrenaline rush as you set off on your way. The endorphins kick in, you get warm, remove a layer ( i can never work out exactly the right clothes to walk in )
The scenery is beautiful, you catch a glimpse of a deer, a buzzard, a moth or a cowslip.
I often get lost ( Its not getting lost, its going on an adventure) i usually get muddy and sometimes i fall over.
Then there's the relief as your sore feet sense the end of the walk. A nice pint and a pack of crisps or nuts, maybe a meal by a fire.
These are all wonderful things, but so much more when shared with a like minded friend.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Beaconsfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for new friends to explore the UK with, as I've exhausted(literally !!) my current friends, many of whom prefer short walks. During this corona lockdown I've averaged 30 miles a week - better than baking any day. My job is cabin crew, often I have 3 days off during the week with the occasional weekend. I especially love coastal walks, but am good with any terrain, just happy to be walking. I'd like to do more multi day hikes, no problem camping or staying in BnBs. I've carried a big back pack but also had it transported. I've hiked the Anna Purna Circuit and part of he Camino de Santiago, always looking for new adventures.

My Message: Hello. I'm an athletic and active 59 yr old male (who still thinks he's 25). I retired from policing and all those years of walking the beat. I've been back packing around the world, done Kilimanjaro, Machu Picchu etc. but still loads to see. It would be great to explore with a like minded male/female companion or any groups. I'm based in Saltaire near Bradford but, as a part time pensioner and Sports Coach (!) I've got time, spontaneity, solvency and inclination to bag those peaks. So do get in touch... My Message: Hi my name is Anne. I am in my early 60's looking for walking companions for either day/weekend/week walks. I have just retired and have a desire to do a lot more walking and/or tour the UK. I have recently bought a campervan due to this crazy COVID world! Which will keep myself and others safe. I have walked the White Peak Way 90 miles a couple of times which is a lovely walk and a couple of other (flat) long distance walks. Not so keen on camping, prefer B&B, Youth Hostel or similar, what a wimp! I like to go at a steady plod...... short or longer walks. I look forward to hearing from you...

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre. I'm vegan ( you don't have to be) and a reasonable cook though do enjoy dining out too. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Kent hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Spurred on by doing more challenging walks ahead of doing the Three Peaks Challenge 6 years ago I have continued to enjoy walks and climbs. I am active and fully fit enjoying a variety of activities. I enjoy varied walks from relaxed countryside walks to something more challenging. Part of enjoying walks for me is good company. I am happy to enjoy a drink or meal afterwards and would consider multi day trips. Prefer mid-week although I could do weekend walks. I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello! My name is Umesh and I am keen to find someone to explore hiking trails with over, in particular, over the next few months given we can't travel overseas.

I'm a keen hiker and amateur mountaineer (last year I climbed Mont Blanc and Kili) but really just enjoy getting out into nature and it doesn't have to be too strenuous. When we are allowed, I'd ideally like to do a bit more exploring in the Lakes and perhaps further afield in Scotland and Wales.

I'm not working at the moment so have plenty of time on my hands although that could change. I'm currently studying for my WSET level 3 wine course so am a bit tied up with that over the next few weeks but looking for some adventures in July!

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; North West England; The English Midlands; Wales; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Norwich hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, John here. Hoping to meet like-minded people/person to spend a few hours, or even a few days with.
I enjoy walking in any type of environment, followed by a beer or two after a good slog. I live in Norfolk (although a major change in my life is making me consider moving away, maybe you could convince me?) I have walked in most National Parks, and walked up a few mountains. My navigational skills are above average and I always plan the route before setting off. With some notice, I am able to reach for the walking boots almost anytime.
I am more than happy to teach navigation skills to anyone.
I have no walking ambitions, I just love to get out and enjoy the view. So, if you wish to spend a couple of hours, or longer with me, please let me know.

I love the outdoors, walking, hiking, climbing, kayaking, coasteering, gorge walking.....the list goes on!
I have a campervan that I have just converted and, as I'm self-employed, I am able to go anywhere, at any time (almost).
I am a senior member of the Army Cadet Force and, as such, have a good knowledge of navigation and am willing to teach anyone who wants to learn. I like to get away as much as I can.
Care to join me sometime? (Obviously when the 'rona has gone!!).

My Message: Hello,

I am based in Lancashire however I can drive and have a car so I am willing to go further afield. However, I would really like to challenge myself and I hope to meet like minded people. I have a springer spaniel who would be joining me.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Buxton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Chris, from Manchester, now exiled in Buxton! Married happily for 30 years, and living with the wife and Jim the dog. Made redundant last year after some 25 years at IBM but have plans to get back to work eventually. For now, I'm enjoying my time off. We both (the wife and I) have a passion for the countryside, Scotland and the Peak District in particular. Unfortunately due to health issues my wife is now unable to do much walking - aside from pottering around the villages etc. While I'm certainly no major league trekker myself, I am fond of a brisk stroll around the hills and valleys of the peaks whenever I can, taking in the air, views and fascinating archaeological sites. Be nice to have someone to chat with along the way, so, I'm looking for someone, male/female, any age, in a similar position, who may be up for the occasional (none too arduous) stroll and fancies sharing their own favourite walks with another interested party? Weekdays or weekends, meet there, arrange pickup, whatever, I'm flexible on all that stuff. Drop me a line if interested, thanks.
