I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Oakham, Rutland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone, I would love to meet up with other people to walk - virtually anywhere. I particularly love hill-walking (Scotland, Lakes and Snowdonia my favourite) and have bagged some 3000fters, but am keen to walk anywhere. Friends and family are just not hikers. Even my dog is ageing so much that a short walk around the park will satisfy him (he stays at home/in the car when I walk).

I love camping, hiking in beautiful scenery, and would love some company. I have a car and am happy to travel, although of course if you are closer to me meeting up for a day hike will be easier. With a busy work schedule, I am generally a weekend walker but will take time off when I get a walking opportunity that is too good to miss.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I love Scrambling & Edges - the more exposure the better. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Perthshire hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in Perthshire and have spent many years walking the hills in Scotland and abroad both with friends and animals (dogs). I would love to meet up with new friends who would like to join me walking and enjoying nature and the hills at home or abroad. Initially would be looking medium paced walks and would love to have the company of a dog once more, so if you have a dog, even better!!! If what I have said appeals then please drop me a line and hopefully we can find some great walks together.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bradford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello. I'm an athletic and active 59 yr old male (who still thinks he's 25). I retired from policing and all those years of walking the beat. I've been back packing around the world, done Kilimanjaro, Machu Picchu etc. but still loads to see. It would be great to explore with a like minded male/female companion or any groups. I'm based in Saltaire near Bradford but, as a part time pensioner and Sports Coach (!) I've got time, spontaneity, solvency and inclination to bag those peaks. So do get in touch... I won't use anything in evidence against you!!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre. I'm vegan ( you don't have to be) and a good cook though do enjoy dining out too. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Bishop Auckland hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi.. great website! I have enjoyed hill walking since my childhood - It gives me a sense of freedom, space and challenge. I feel that it helps me refuel my inner strength to deal with anything during the working week. I moved up to Bishop Auckland in 2010 because of my love of the scenery. I walked the Pennine Way 30+ years ago and always enjoy revisiting bits of it. More recently I've completed the Dales Way, WHW, Great Glen Way, Dava Way,C2C,Offa's Dyke Path & Isaac's Tea Trail. I enjoy regular walking in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands, the Borders and Northumberland with a fantastic local fell walking club and am free many weekends and during the school holiday times.I am a musician who teaches in County Durham schools and at the Sage Gateshead. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy 2020!! Andy

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Near Carlisle hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm looking for people who don't need to think about getting out on the mountains, they just go for it when there's opportunity.

I'm interested in exploring further afield but I'm normally out on the Lake District fells at least once a week so if anyone is passing through & want to meet up let me know.

Enjoying life and meeting people with a love for the outdoors is my aim so if interested gis a shout.

Let's go and grab those memories and views.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Redcar hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I have enjoyed walking on and off since I was a child, and spent many years walking with my wife mainly in the Lake District and North York Moors and coast. Since I lost her just over two years ago, although I have an adult son and male friends who I walk with, and I sometimes enoy walking alone, I miss female company on my walks.
I'm often quiet with new people in social situations, but I promise I liven up once I get to know people. I really enjoy exploring and sharing my love of the countryside with others.
I am semi retired, though I do some voluntary work, but I can be flexible over walking days. I live very close to the NY Moors and within daily range of the Lake District. I also have a touring caravan and often spend longer periods in the Lakes and elsewhere.
I am a reasonably confident walker, though slow going up hill these days and I'm not very fit at the moment. I have a GPS, but am also a fairly confident map reader and have a good sense of direction. I have completed my Wainwrights, some I have walked many times, but am quite happy to repeat them or just to wander through some of the valleys or over the moors.
I also have an interest in history, and often try to find something of interest on my walks but at times I just enjoy the open and the peace and beauty I find there. If there's a tea room at the end of a walk, so much the better.
Please get in touch if you think we'd get along and would like to plan some walks.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Chesterfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hiya, I'm Lynn alias 'Miss Outdoorsy' as staying at home drives me up the walls! I like anything outdoors, love adventure & travel & my passion is mountains. I love the ridge & scrambling routes & have done Crib Goch, Snowdon, Striding Edge & Swirral Edge, Sharp Edge in Lakes to name a few. I've done a lot of walking in Peaks, Snowdonia, Lakes, Brecons, Yorkshire Dales & love them all. I'm just as happy with a hike in the Peaks as scrambling up Sharp Edge. I live near Chesterfield so Peaks & Yorkshire Dales are easy for me to get to but I don't mind travelling. Im very easy going with good sense of humour & like the well deserved stop in the pub at the end of the walk! Well I'm Scottish after all! Would love to hear from you for hiking soon.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Swindon hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm Karen. I'm single and now that I am retired I have a lot more time to go walking just for an afternoon or a day (week days and weekends) or for weeks.

I'd like to meet up with other walkers to continue to do the SW Coast Path (I have done form Poole to nearly Plymouth and am happy to do other bits in any order), Offa's Dyke, the Coast to Coast or West Highland Way from 2017 onwards.

I've walked the Thames Path from my home as I live on the Wiltshire / Gloucestershire borders, as well as most of my local walks and many more all over the UK - on my own and many in groups; always much more fun and interesting. I have a car and am happy to travel and go for walks all over the UK and abroad; I will tackle hills; have done Snowdon and other fairly high spots like the Jurassic Coast but my knees now really prefer fewer or shorter or less steep climbs. I love watching for wildlife along the way and would love to share the scenery and enjoyment with male or female friends, and maybe meet that special man here. Its great to have a bit of a laugh and a chat along the way, especially if interspersed with stop offs for a cuppa or at a pub.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Birkdale hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I like to get out in the hills as often as possible but I don't go bagging Munros just to get back and tick it off a list.
I go to enjoy the beauty of our country and take my time and breath in fresh air.
I love Caledonia, the north west highlands to me are the most beautiful place on planet earth and I've traveled extensively.
I don't go climbing or in the snow and ice anymore as I have done in the past.
I don't mind it being cold and fresh though. I always go into the mountains fully prepared, map, compass, waterproofs etc. Just common sense things because anything can happen at any time.
I have done a lot of walking in Scotland but also enjoy the lakes, and the dales etc, doesn't have to be a long or high up walk, pleasurable and fun is what it's all about to me.
Would like to meet others to enjoy a good time out and about, not just on high peaks, any walk can be a good one, it's what you make of it. Finding a nice pub at the end is a bonus too.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Preston hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
I'm Catherine, 40 from Preston. I have done quite a lot of walking, mainly in the Lakes and North Wales but other areas too.I would like to do more in Scotland. I have also done some treks abroad. I have previously walked a lot with my parents but they are getting past the long and high stuff now. Also I met a great walking partner on here about 8 years ago but she has moved abroad for work! I'm now struggling to get out walking as I don't want to go by myself. I love anything outdoors, pretty much any weather. I love camping and a good pint after a walk. I'm looking for people aged 35-48 who would like to go on day walks to begin with to see how we get on. Anyway, drop me a line if you'd like to make contact and get out walking. Thanks

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Wirral hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm an adventurous hiker, walking long distances but also chill out shorter strolls in North Wales, Peak District and Lake District. I'm wishing to meet a female walker friend maybe more who enjoys long walks and which we can enjoy the beautiful countryside and mountains of Britain. I'm currently after Marilyn's in the UK, walking usually on weekends but have a week in the Lake District coming up in late September. If you would like a week of walking please contact me.

I'm active away from walking being a keen cyclist, I enjoy history and visiting places of interest. I'm very fit, having long legs means I cover distances quicker than most but also love a good scramble and prefer clear weather as I enjoy the views from a good summit.

I've climbed Mt Snowdon, Carnedd Llewelyn, Pen yr Ole Wen, hills of Church Stratton Shropshire and hope to doing some long walks in Lake District September 2019. Some female company would be preferred so we both can enjoy some stunning scenery.

If interested please message me. I'm a keen walker who enjoys the outdoors and would like to share it with someone.

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Road Cycling

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Chesterfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm Mark I enjoy walking and discovering places. I occasionally lead walks for my friends or just enjoy a walk on my own. Most walks end up with a pint or a meal. I'm looking to meet someone who enjoys the scenery and wildlife and enjoys a occasional challenge. I'm currently trying to do all the peaks in the Yorkshire Dales over 2000ft and get a few Wainwrights done but not in any great rush.I also do a bit of mountain biking now and then (no mad off road down hill routes). Look forward to hearing from anyone with similar interests. P.s. not having much luck downloading a new photo.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Barnoldswick hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker, now retired so have more time to get out and about. I walk quite regularly with friends but as they are still working this is confined largely to weekends. We've enjoyed tackling many of the long distance paths over the years. I walk a lot on my own too or, until very recently, with my dog who has now sadly passed away, but would like to meet a like-minded walking buddy, preferably reasonably nearby. It would be good perhaps to share some Wainwright bagging or explore new areas more or less anywhere in the British Isles or even beyond. There are so many places I still want to see and it would be great to do so in good company. I'd love to hear from you.
