I enjoy walking in the Lakes and areas around Cheshire but am ready to strike out further afield. I have a miniature schnauzer who enjoys our walks so he would want to be included in any outings. Having just tackled Snowdon I'm keener on less vertical walks although length is not a problem.

Hi, My name is Jan, have just moved into the West Sussex/Horsham area after over 40 years in West London but originally from Pennines in Lancashire. Am 67 years old (just) but keep active and fit enjoying walking, Yoga and keeping fit. Spent last few years mainly walking in Swiss and Austrian Alps, North Wales, Yorkshire and anywhere with a bit of a challenge and fantastic views. Distance anything from 8-15 miles, weekdays/week-ends. Enjoy good company with a sense of humour and keen on exploring Sussex/Kent/Hampshire/Dorset coast as new areas of interest.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 30s, based near Preston.

My Message: Hi, I'm Ant.

I've been a semi-regular day hiker for a while now, but have recently started to go out on the hills more frequently. I mostly walk around my local area (Lancashire) or the Lake district, but occasionally venture off to the Yorkshire Dales. Not many of my friends hike, and those that do are often busy when I'm free and v. v. - I'm quite happy to walk solo, but would prefer not to do so all of the time ;), and yes I've tried rambling clubs, but find them a little inflexible.

I haven't done much camping, but have really enjoyed what little I have done and would love to do more.

I'd say my navigation skills are average, but there's definitely room for improvement.

I'm ideally looking to meet someone around my local area, but anyone willing to travel to the Lakes or Dales is welcome also. I have a car, so the Peak District is also in reach. If you're only interested in day hikes that's fine, but (wild) camping is also something I'd like to do more of, so let me know if you do to. Age or gender isn't a factor, and am also happy to meet up with couples/hiking partners for 3-4 man walks.

My Message: Hi - am 42, happily married and living in the North West.. so not looking for romance! Am relatively fit and active and looking to build walking fitness so I can do some long distance walking next year. Thinking nice intermediate fells in Lakes rather than full on peaks in the mist, ice and rain. Have some basic map reading skills but anyone who knows more than me would be welcome! I am happy to hostel or camp and have shared ownership of a knackered tent that has seen some muddy fields.I am looking to hear from individuals (females preferred) or groups (mixed gender) to organise some walks soon.

Although I was brought up on Exmoor, there are still many places I havent found yet and also places I could explore time and time again! Although i am fit and reasonably energetic, I am not a walker who covers miles and miles very fast. I like to take in the views and look for deer and other wildlife too and I dont carry a map around my neck ;)

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Western Isles.

My Message: I am a 59 year old lady - relatively fit who loves walking anywhere. I love going on walking holidays in the UK and Europe and would like to travel further afield with walking being an important part of my holiday. I live in the Western Isles and do lots of walking in this area too. I am self employed, so I am very flexible with my time. I am looking for someone who has similar interests, who enjoys a good walk with perhaps some wine and a good meal at the end of it. I suppose you would call me a fair weather walker as I hate starting off a walk in the rain and can't see the point in plodding up a mountain if there isn't going to be any views once you get there, don't mind if it starts to rain once I've set off though. I like to take my time to enjoy the views when i'm walking in the mountains. I love all types of music (I'm a very amateur musician), would like to try some cycling again, enjoy a good book and like theatre. I don't do camping/caravanning - I prefer a comfy bed and other creature comforts at the end of a good day's walk. Like good beer and wine and am up for a laugh at any time. Life's too short to be too serious.

My Message: Hi, I'm 44 and live Blaina close to the Brecon Beacons. I am looking for walking friends for day walks, weekend away walking, national trails etc. I love walking the mountains but am equally as happy walking coastal areas. I work shifts so sometimes I walk during the week. My friends don't share my enthusiasm for walking and while I don't mind walking alone, a chat and a laugh along the way would be better. My Message: I would love to do coast walks in Devon or Cornwall although am happy to walk other places. On my bucket list is walking the s.w coast path probably in small bits. I have own transport to get where ever. I do still work so would have to fit around this.
It would be good to walk with someone male or female confident to 'navigate' as this is what puts me off of walking to far alone.
More than happy to combine a walk with pub lunch and pint or glass of wine.

My name is Gwyn, and I am a widow 63 years old. At one time I used to walk a lot, but at the moment I need to gradually build up the miles. I'm looking for a male companion between 58 and 68 to do the coastal path on Anglesey, and then to look further afield to the mountains of Snowdonia. I prefer to walk during the week.
I have just completed a 50 mile charity cycle ride and it took me 8 weeks to train for it, so I know that it would not take long to get back into walking.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Northampton.

My Message: Hi,
I'm 35 and looking to find a male friend for some walks, aged between 30-45. I'm a big fan of the lake district, although Yorkshire and the Peak District are good too, and a little closer.
Ideally looking to meet for short local walks first and then with the possibility of walking weekends 'up north' or Wales... or wherever there is nice countryside.
I love the challenge of getting up a hill/mountain, and would like to meet someone like minded (who does't just want to peak-bag, or do 15 miles route marches or rock climbing!), with a good beer in the pub after, and a meal.
I'm also keen on photography, but try not to stop every five minutes as you'd never get anywhere !
I'd also like to explore walks abroad, having been to the Dolomites and Switzerland, which are beautiful areas, but need the right company. (Again, I'm not into anything too adventurous, just similar grade walks to those in the lakes!)

My Message: Hi. I'm Jayne - divorced; kids off on their own and it's now just l'il ole Me and the dog (a very soppy and slightly arthritic Great Dane called Homer)! I'm a very keen hiker looking for some company - male or female/singles or groups to walk with, preferably other dog owners as I like to walk with the dog where possible. I really enjoy brisk, long hikes and am pretty fit. My problem is the orienteering bit; I have an appalling sense of direction and dare not venture far on my own for fear of getting lost! I am 50, female and looking for like minded ladies to get out into the fresh air with. I am fairly fit but haven't done a lot of walking of late due to work commitments and renovating a new house. I am married and do some walks with my husband but it's nice to have female company from time to time. I work Monday - Thursday but happy to walk on my days off or evenings and a stop off in a pub for a bite to eat and a natter is always a nice end to the day!
