Walking The Yorkshire Three Peaks Individually
Q. Apologies if I missed this in your Q & A. I want to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks walk but before doing all 3 in one day I want to do each one over a few days. I was wanting to park up at Horton in Ribblesdale and walk a peak each day, ending up back in Horton in Ribblesdale. I've found the route plans but can't see if there are any points to stay over along the way. Is it possible to start in Horton, walk the first, stay over somewhere, hit the next peak, stay over . . . and so forth ending up back in Horton in Ribblesdale. I know I'm nowhere near fit enough to do the 12hr challenge just yet, but would love to build up some experience on the mountains. Any advice would be appreciated.

A. See Walking the Yorkshire Three Challenge Peaks - particularly our feature in The Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk - As a 2 or 3 day Walk which tells you everything you need to know about walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Walk as 3 individual day walks - either using the railway or staying at Ribblehead.
The pub (The Station Inn) at Ribblehead does B&B (Bed & Breakfast) and has a bunkhouse. If full, there are plenty of places to stay in Horton in Ribblesdale or Settle a little further down the Settle to Carlisle Railway line.
Hope this helps . . .
