I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Faringdon Oxon.

My Message: Hi, I’m Steve, 55, 5’ 6” tall, average build, but not as fit as I think I am! I’m looking for a female walking companion to share big & small adventures in the great outdoors. I have the Ridgeway and Cotswolds close by but prefer the high places like the Lake District, Snowdonia and the Brecons and head for them when time and funds allow. I also enjoy coastal walks or mooching around a town. I love camping and am looking to trying wild camping this year as I’m a keen photographer wanting to capture mountain sunrises and sunsets. Not averse to the odd B&B or hotel now and again though. I work office hours so am usually free at weekends, and summer evenings locally. I think I’m a reasonable navigator (thank you GPS!). And it’s always nice to go for a drink and chat at the end of the day. I’m not really into route marches but like to stop to admire the view and take photos. Happy to walk in all weathers. Happy in my own company but it would be great to have a like-minded soul along for the journey.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Salisbury.

My Message: Hello, I’m Sandi, fit and 59, no partner and in a full-time job but with weekends free. Done good distances all round Europe and Africa and back home I walk, run or cycle 4 and a half miles to and from work most days but really like to stretch my legs a good 12 – 16 miles at the weekends when possible dependent on the season and daylight. Moonwalks and Marathon walks also done and still on the list and I would really like to meet up with anyone wanting to share company and make new friends and am happy to travel or make a weekend of it somewhere. I’d love to notch up some of the UK national trails (Still trying to get to section 6 of the Ridgeway) and my great wish is to be able to complete the South West coast trail! Just love being outdoors and happy to pub or picnic. Currently looking for someone to do the South Downs way all in one with me over a week in August.... Any takers?

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Hertfordshire.

My Message: Hi Everyone!

I am happy walking solo but company is so much more enjoyable!

There is nothing better than scintillating scenery to photograph and interesting facts and history to discover when out for a walk.

I have walked and completed the 3 Peaks (2010)and the Coast to Coast (2011), however I am equally happy on a short walk as a long one so if you fancy a walk please join me!

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bedford.

My Message: Hi, I'm Caroline. I love the outdoor life, particularly walking in the hills. There's nothing better than reaching the top of a mountain on a crisp, sunny morning and enjoying the view. Getting there is the is the challenge! Over the years I've enjoyed walking in most of the peaks and mountains of Britain, but there are still many new routes to discover. It would be great to share the experience with a like minded male. To walk, talk and share the apres adventure. If you like the idea drop me a line.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Milton Keynes.

My Message: Hi my name is Jan and would love to find a walking friend to share some of the walks I do fairly regularly and also to share all the lovely walks that I have yet to discover! Having lived in the North West up until a couple of years ago I got to walk many areas in the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria, Howgills and Lancashire and I still go up there as often as I can and know some parts very well but always willing to do some new ones even areas I have never been to! I am based down in Buckinghamshire now and am happy to walk around here and the surrounding counties as well as in the north, as it's always better to be in the great outdoors! It would be great to be contacted by someone in the Dales as I try to spend as much time there as I can but would be lovely to have a companion here in this area where I am currently. I consider myself reasonably fit but not really sporty and am happiest doing walks up to about 8-9 miles and to stop occasionally to appreciate the scenery! I consider myself an easy going laid back sort of person and enjoy a sense of humour in someone else. I am single and about 5' 5", medium to slightly plump build with blond/grey hair and have two sons and four grandchildren. My other interests are in drawing and sketching, reading and of course to be out and about in the countryside. Well that's enough about me, I look forward to hearing from you, please get in touch!

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Woodford Green.

My Message: I have just taken up walking, after years of racket and other ball sports. I am looking for likeminded people who want reasonably strenuous walks (typically 10 to 20 miles at level 4) on Sundays and, on the odd occasion, weekends further afield.
For the Sunday walks logistics of getting to a starting point will probably limit me to 100 miles from home (Woodford Green, Essex), preferably a lot closer!
For weekends away I will travel pretty much anywhere.
I like to think I am fairly sociable and love to chat to people when I am walking. Don’t mind a pie and a pint at the end of a trek either.
Quite happy to organising a walk if anyone is interested in Epping Forest, Lea Valley or Essex countryside.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have similar interests or know of any individuals or groups already doing the same.
Regards
Chris

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Birmingham.

My Message: Hello there I seem to have ticked an awful lot of boxes where I would like to walk. Im not sure if it was meant to be areas where you would like to access in a weekend. If so I obviously wont be able to go to some of these (eg orkney!).
Anyway Im writing this as i hope to find more friends to go on walking trips with and maybe even walking holidays. Ive done walking hols abroad in the past but they have mainly been with companies like Exodus. I'd like to do my own trips with some like minded friends in the future.
But for now I'd just be happy to meet some people to do trips at the weekend with. Ive done quite a bit of walking with walking clubs in the past but I'd like to make it a bit more adventurous by going with friends and finding our own way.
Anyway I wont waffle on too much for now and hope to hear from someone!

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Gravesend.

My Message: Hi
I have recently moved south from Yorkshire and I would love to find friends (male and female) to walk with in the Kent or Greater London area. I would also like to find a walking group in the Kent area (apart from Ramblers) so if you know of any, please could you let me know. I work through the week so I would be looking to walk on a weekend. I would also like to walk with somebody who is an experienced map reader and who knows the area as unfortunately I don't! I like to walk anywhere between 8 and 15 miles depending on the time of year. I am a brisk walker and I do like some challenge.
I enjoy walking weekends so that could be something for the future.
Please get in touch if you enjoy the same. I am looking forward to making new friends down here.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Bournemouth.

My Message: I would like to get back to outdoors. Doing sports and being active through all my life, eventually, I had to avoid any of physical activities over a few years.
Looking for a group of activists or individuals who on regular bases organizing walks-hiking to join with.
That far, I afraid, most likely it would be only time on weekends. Further, for more serious organised walks-hiking-camping and longer destinations, an arrangements can be made.
Kind regards,
Inna

My Message:
Hi, I am a youthful 43 year old woman living in central London. I'm a 49/51% city/country lover and I love getting out to the countryside to walk. I want to do more of this and with like minded people. I like being in nature and enjoy all terrains, but particularly the rugged or remote ones. I really like Cumbria, Derbyshire and Cornwall. I'm pretty fit, though I'd prefer to ease in a bit before starting with a 10 mile climb ! Weekends are best.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near South Molton.

My Message: Hello
I'm looking for walking companions for day walks initially. I like a good hike 6-12 miles, a few pauses on steep hills. I have good wet weather gear but not keen on trudging through mud! Flexible time-wise so can go on the spur of the moment when the sun shines.
I love good (lightweight) picnics, a good pub with an open fire, tea shops, NT, photography. I do gym, swim, body surf, cycling, ski, dance.
I like a good conversation and a chat but companionable silence is excellent too ;)

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Winchester.

My Message: Hi, I'm a bit restricted in when I could walk which will probably only be Sundays, but I'd be happy with early starts. I'm in Winchester and I'd be quite keen to keep the walks around Hampshire, Dorset, South Downs etc. to fit them into a day, so not too keen on anything farther afield at the moment. Having said that the Peak District is my favourite place to walk! Would travel light, prefer a reasonable pace and am ok with anything up to say 15 miles, am reasonably fit so any terrain is ok.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Westoning.

My Message: Hi,

I enjoy being in the great outdoors and I find walking is one way of fulfilling that pleasure. There is something very therapeutic about expending some energy walking to a summit and looking at the surrounding view whether in the Lake District or my native Bedfordshire.

It would be nice to find a female friend, living not to far away, who enjoys similar. I find walking slows down the pace of life we live at, you can have a good talk during the process and exercise with the possibility of some food and pint at the end. The British Isles has fantastic places to walk and I would love to explore more.

In my photo I am the one standing, recently taken on Scaffell Pike on our lads!!, we are all getting older, walking weekend.

Thanks for taking the time to read my message and if you would like to send me a message about communicating before having a walk that would be good. Chris

My Message: Hi, I'm Ian, I live on the Herts/Beds border and like to walk mainly in surrounding counties.

Although many of my local walks are solo, I do join with a group occasionally for walking weekends further afield.
