I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near East Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi
Looking for a walking partner to enjoy the scenery. Love coastal/beach walks but also countryside. It is all about the views and vistas.
Quality not quantity …..I think about 7-10 miles is my limit for a day's walking.
A good walk and chat would be nice. Can do during the week as well as weekends.
Would like to do more hill walking as I live in a very flat area!
Main aim is to keep fit and get out into the fresh air.
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:
My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands;

A bit more about me:
I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops.
I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower.
I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other.
To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average.
I can drive and have a car.
I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Eastleigh hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: I am a lover of the outdoors and would like to find someone to collaborate with. I enjoy everything from walking the footpaths near my home (I've almost done everything in a 5 mile radius) to hill bagging and mountain walking.
I have a decent amount of experience and would be very happy to help someone with less or conversely to learn from someone with more.
I also enjoy photography and nature watching and would potentially be interested in multi-day walks and wild camps. Although I'm a quiet person I enjoy shared experiences and that's what I'm looking for.
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:
My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;

A bit more about me:
I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure.
I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on.
I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other.
I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good.
I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
- Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
- Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
- Road Cycling
- Mountain Biking
I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Shrewsbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: I mix and match my walks, so that can mean anything from a short river stroll to a long distance path,I'm planning to do the Great Glen Way soon(ish). I completed a month long walk in Spain earlier this year but that was quite an unusual one for me.
I also do short trips away walking (or mostly walking) several times a year where I based in one place, again camping. I'm only a couple of hours from the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia.
A few years ago I rearranged my life so I now have a lot of flexibility in my life, the chances are that I cam fit in with your schedule.
It's not all walking, and in truth I'm not hyperactive, so I do a some overseas travel which doesn't necessarily include strenuous hikes but I do generally prefer quieter locations.
I hope to hear from you soon :)

With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs.
I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own.
Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi. I'm semi retired and live near Lincoln. I love the outdoors and love to spend my time walking, running and even gardening. Anything to be outside. I do most of my walking in the Lake District, Peak District and some on the Lincolnshire Wolds. Im always happy to explore and have previously walked in the, Wales and Scotland.
My partner is not really interested in my love of walking and not that keen on the great outdoors. I do a lot of walking on my own but would enjoy some company, ideally someone who loves being outdoors like me and who doesn't mind a bit of weather. My work pattern varies so I can be free mid week and weekends too.
I've started to tick off the Wainwrights (over half of them now) and I'm now the proud owner of a camper van and hope to venture further afield.
I'd also like to do a few wild camps.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Rugby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: 57 year old single, professional female. Not keen on walking in groups - prefer the company of just one or two others. Things just get straggly in groups don't they? I have had quite a long spell of not walking following both an Achilles then back injury sustained in unrelated unfortunate events, so I'm pleased to be back in my boots! Have car and happy to lift-share or not. Saturdays are often marginally better for me than Sundays but that's not set in stone, or shorter after work walks in lighter evenings. Other interests include travel, cooking, good wine, reading, music (live and local, often folky or indie by preference), cinema. I've recently relocated, and would love to find some like-minded friends who won't mind my graded return to gradually longer walks than I have currently ticked.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am retired so have plenty of time to go walking locally and nationally. I can sometimes make plans at short notice. I am friendly and reliable and like to chat on a walk.
I am looking for people who love walking and are looking for someone to join them. I would like to meet someone who is also interested in walking some of the long distance paths across the country. Sometimes we need a bit of motivation and encouragement and it is always better to have some company and support. Distance and speed are not that important. I equally enjoy local half day walks in the south of England to all day challenges in the mountains. But, it's always nice to end up in a country pub at the end of the day.
I am a reasonable map reader and whilst generally cautious by nature, I am increasingly confident in the mountains. I have a car so can travel as necessary. I like to chat about about most things and it would be a bonus if you had a good sense of humour too.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on mountains, hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there and around me, not to race to the end. What would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments or a meal. I'm just into my 70's but am very fit and am younger in appearance and character. I can get along with most people of all ages. I am vegan but whilst it would be lovely to meet a vegan or veggie, it isn't a prerequisite. I generally like to walk between 5-15 miles I'm very chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. I drive and don't see anywhere on the mainland as too far. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city and country breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. Regards. Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brierfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello. I'm an athletic and active 64 yr old male (who still thinks he's 25). I retired from policing and all those years of walking the beat. I've been back packing around the world, done Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu etc. but still loads to see. It would be great to explore with a like minded female companion or any groups. I'm based in Brierfield near Burnley but, as a part time Sports Coach, squash, padel, pickleball and racquet addict, I've got time, spontaneity, solvency and inclination to bag those peaks. So do get in touch... I won't use anything in evidence against you!!

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Bath hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am in my late 60's and live on the edge of Bath close to the Cotswold Way. I used to walk with my wife but she passed away in late 2020 and since then I have either walked with a group or alone, but group walking is not my preferred option as I like to be able to stop and take in the views when appropriate and this is not so easy when in a group.
If a walk can be combined with a pub or cafe visit part way through or at the end all the better.
I usually walk around 6 - 8 miles but can easily do up to 10 - 12. Equally I am happy on shorter walks of 5. I have completed over 75% of the SW Coast Path and I would be interested in other long distance paths such as the coast to coast. I would like to finish the SW Coast Path, I have gaps in the South Devon and Dorset areas.
My general interests centre around sport, heritage and outdoor life. I volunteer at a local city farm and do footpath improvement work in my local area. I have a disabled daughter and am / have been involved with associated charity and campaign groups.
Being retired I can usually be available to walk most days subject to my volunteering roles.
I have walked a lot around the Mendips and South Cotswolds but have also spent a fair amount of time on the Quantocks, Exmoor, Dorset coast and East Devon areas.
I would like to find a similar minded person to join me on walks both in my local area and further afield.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bakewell hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Based in the Peak District and with a background in marine sciences and management, I've lived in numerous countries around the world, working in various marine sectors, such as renewable energy and civil engineering. Born in Kenya, I also spent about 20 years in The Netherlands, where my adult daughters live, before returning to the UK in 2008. Amicably separated, politically centre-left, pragmatic, non-fiction reader and omnivorous…a good pub at the end of a walk is always welcome!
Formerly an avid sportsman, mountaineer and skier (Alps and Cascades), I'm now down to exploring the indoors and hiking our national parks. Also finding myself drawn back to the sea, where I started my career. Right now, my challenge is to deal with swapping a hectic, international career for gardening and walking in the hills! But walking alone has become a chore…it would be great to share the great outdoors and fascinating indoors.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 70s, based near Matlock hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Adrian, a vegetarian, single, retired, a co-operative rather than competitive person. Have walked solo for many years but do enjoy walking with a female companion/s to explore our beautiful island. I had a camper van for 12 years but in 2024 changed to a Eriba caravan to use as a mobile base for circular and linear walks. I enjoy all types of walks both short and full day walks and long distance. I have completed a number of classic long distance paths including The Dales Way, Pennine Way, Wainwrights Coast to Coast, Cleveland Way, West Highland Way etc. Not so good on heights these days so I avoid walking on high level narrow ledges. Am passionate about our natural world, fun loving, often quirky. Other interests include nature walks, conservation and engaged with local community activities. Am a long term of NT, WWF, RSPB, WildlifeTrust, Protect The Wild etc conservation groups. On the political front am a long term member of CND, supporter of Amnesty International, a Green Party member and in recent times a Corbynista. I enjoy reading natural history, biographies and have a eclectic taste in music, art cinema, theatre, the arts, wildlife gardening and DIY. Am politically a bit of a lefty. If any of this appeals, please get in touch.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 70s, based near South Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Sincere, retired, down to earth professional who enjoys the outdoors and associated Wild life and nature, looking for like minded walking companions to share the beauty of our countryside. Walks up to 5-8 miles preferred, with an Al fresco packed lunch (home made cake a must),, possible pub meal on return, though not essential, Yorkshire, Peak District area to start with! I have done a fair bit of walking in my time and am a reasonable map reader, but my focus these days is more about enjoying the environment. I like to travel though haven't done much recently, music, radio 4.
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:
My Preferred Walk Areas:

I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice.
I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own.
I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good.
I can drive and have a car.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near West Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello. I'm looking for a male and female friends for local, regional or even national walks.
My mountaineering Welsh brother in law calls me a car park walker since I normally join 5-8 mile circular walks that don't involve needing to scramble down some hill on me bum. I enjoy scenery and wildlife and have pottered all around Yorkshire, Ambleside, Langdale Valley, Malvern Hills. I'm a '..have car, will travel...' kinda girl. I'm normally at church most Sunday mornings so evenings or Saturdays are best for me. My kind of walk ends with a pub as opposed to a tragic sandwich in my rucksack. I'm such a townie, I'm ashamed :-)
I also enjoy camping and fair weather cycling although a recent arm injury has clipped my wings on both. (no pun intended).
I'm rubbish at map reading and navigating although I am learning.

With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs.
I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other.
Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless.
I can drive and have a car.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stoke-on-trent hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live on the edge of the Peak District and love the outdoors. I have walked all my life in most areas of the UK as well as internationally. I like trying new routes but I am also happy on old favourites watching them change with the seasons.
I am looking for people who don't take life too seriously, like a bit of adventure and enjoy exploring new areas. I took early retirement so can walk anytime. My ideal day out is a 5 to 15 mile walk including a coffee or other such beverage, a good chat and learning something new, from the history of the area to a new plant or bird call.
Many of my walks are currently in the Peak District but I will jump at the chance to travel to other areas. Recently I have also walked in Trossachs, North Downs and Snowdonia. I love being in the mountains but I am as happy viewing them from a longer walk through the valleys as climbing to the top.

My Message: I live in London, but have done lots of long distance path walking,including the SW coastal path and the Cumbria Way and a fair bit of mountain walking in Scotland: Arran, the Cairngorms, Mull, Assynt... I would love to explore more countryside, mostly the northern half of the country and Ireland, which I'm sorry to say I've never been to!
I was a bike commuter for many years which has given me a good level of fitness and I still love cycling in the city, preferring to mostly keep to quiet routes.
Don't be put off by the fact that I live in London! I can travel!!
And of course there are some lovely walks in and around London.

My Message: Hi, I enjoy walking in Staffordshire and Shropshire, evenings and weekends.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Manchester hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, I'm ideally looking for an easy-going female to become a regular walking companion. I enjoy say 8 - 12 mile walks of what might be termed 'medium' grade but will go for the occasional more challenging trip. Being retired I can be reasonably flexible re weekdays or weekends, again ideally within a reasonable drive of Manchester; i.e. Lakes, Lancs, Peaks.
I say my map-reading skills are average but my investment in an OS Map App has so far kept me from going astray! I'm happy to put in a bit of effort to get the best out of the scenery, and have a bit of a natter and a pint or otherwise as just rewards at the end of the day.
Thanks / Dave
