In-use Test:

I've used these Leki Spin Nordic Walking Poles for about 20 hours walking over a couple of months. As a relative newcomer to Nordic Walking, I've been using the poles for training sessions of 30-40 minutes duration predominantly on concrete and tarmac pathways but also grass.

However, I have also used them on a few day-long hill-walks instead of conventional trekking poles.

So far, I have to say I've been been very pleased with them. I've not noticed any discomfort in my arms so the poles overall have been very effective in dissipating the effects of vibration.

The stability on all the surfaces I've walked on has been good too. And I'm pleased to say the rubber shock absorbers are not showing any sign of wear.

The length of these poles can be adjusted - which is great for a beginner like me.

A concern I had was that the poles might suddenly retract if my whole weight was placed on one. This concern has proved to be unfounded as I've found using them after adjustment to be totally hassle-free - whether using them for nordic walking or as a trekking pole. (I'm 5' 7'' tall and weigh 140lbs.).

Buying Advice:

This model is made of aluminium - there are lighter poles available based on carbon fibre but these still weigh relatively little compared to the trekking poles I've used

For me as a beginner the swing-weight was fine - although I can imagine that for as you progress some of the lighter (and of course more expensive) models would be attractive.

Overall the Leki Spin is a great entry level Nordic Walking Pole model and does come with a life-time warranty for the shaft.
