Crib Goch
923m (3029ft)

The Snowdon Area, Snowdonia, Gwynedd, Wales

The Crib Goch ridge is not for the faint hearted. It is very exposed and airy in places and can be extremely dangerous - particularly in adverse weather conditions.

Gerald Murphy hiked on September 4th, 2014 [from/via/route] See my notes on Crib y Disgl (Carnedd Ugain) [with] Harry Chadwick [weather] Fine, sunny, dry - Not nearly as bad as I had been led to believe. The ascent to the start of the arete is a bit of a slog but the rfidge itself is just fun. It seemed to me that as long as you keep an eye on what's ahead and what's immediately underfoot it isn't difficult to find your way across safely. Even on the Pinnacles going over the first two directly isn't really a problem - plenty of handholds and footholds. The upwards path round the right of the 3rd is clearly visible from the 2nd Pinnacle. Once your over that it's great to look back. We went ovefr early on a weekday, leaving Pen y Pass at about 7am. No car park problems and nobody else about at all. Just one other walker overtook us at the start of the arete as we had a photo break.

Robert Taylor-marriott summited on September 1st, 2010 [from/via/route] Route 15: Crib Goch, Garnedd Ugain & Snowdon (CGGU) Completed 01.09.10 [with] Vince Wetton, Alistair James and Robert Taylor-Marriott. [weather] Sunny & Clear visibility.
