Crib Goch means 'Red Ridge' in Welsh and is pronounced 'kreeb g-och'.
The summit of Crib Goch is marked by a rocky outcrop.
The Crib Goch ridge is not for the faint hearted. It is very exposed and airy in places and can be extremely dangerous - particularly in adverse weather conditions.

Wynne Roberts scaled on September 7th, 2019 [from/via/route] Snowdon Horseshoe [with] Gareth Roberts [weather] Sunny, warm, slight wind (20mph) & very clear - Took us 6 hours, stopped for half an hour for dinner, did 3 peaks over 3000ft, one over 2000ft, lot of scrambling.
Dale Tyler walked up on August 17th, 2019 [from/via/route] Up from Pen-y-pass with Jason, Alex, Sean & Lambert on the way to Yr Wyddfa. Beautiful sunny day until half way across ridge when clouded over & wind started gusting. Really windy all day from then! Dropped off summit back down the Ranger Path then took a right right to Llanberis-avoided all the crowds! [with] Jason, Alex, Sean, Lambert [weather] Glorious sunshine then cloud & gusting wind on tops then glorious sunshine as we headed for home. - Able to walk on top of the ridge before the wind picked up. Took a more cautious route afterwards
