Fan Gyhirych is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (74th highest in Wales, 177th highest in England & Wales) and a Welsh Marilyn (29th highest in Wales, 538th highest in the UK).

Fan Gyhirych means ''Braided Beacon' in Welsh and is pronounced 'van-g-ee-hee ree-kh'.

The summit of Fan Gyhirych is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point & a cairn.

Completing this walk will also take you to the top of Fan Fraith at 668m (2192ft). Fan Fraith is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (119th highest in Wales, 290th highest in England & Wales). Fan Fraith means 'Fraith Beacon' in Welsh and is pronounced 'van-vr-eye-th'.

The summit of Fan Fraith is marked by a small cairn.

You will also reach the summit of Yr Allt (Forest Fawr) at 604m (1982ft). Yr Allt (Forest Fawr) is also known as a Welsh Dewey (9th highest in Wales, 14th in England & Wales) Yr Allt (Forest Fawr) means 'The Hill' in Welsh and is pronounced 'ur-a-thl-t'.

The summit of Yr Allt (Forest Fawr) is marked by a small cairn..

Along the way you will also bag and tick-off:

  • Heol Senni (Fan Bwlch Chwyth) at 603m (1979ft). Heol Senni (Fan Bwlch Chwyth) is known as a Welsh Bridget. The summit of Heol Senni (Fan Bwlch Chwyth) is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point.
