Points of Interest/Notes on this walk:

The White Cliffs of Dover have great symbolic value to the British because they face towards Continental Europe across the narrowest part of the English Channel, where invasions have historically been attempted. Until the advent of air travel, these cliffs formed the first and last sight of England for travelers. The cliffs reach up to 350 feet (110m) in places and spread east and west from the ancient (and still important) English port of Dover.

National Trails & Long Paths included on this walk:

Part of this walk follows a section of The Saxon Shore Way, a 262km (163 miles) linear footpath connecting Gravesend in Kent, England with Hastings in East Sussex, England. The Saxon Shore Way is waymarked by a Red Viking Helmet motif. For more walks that include a section of this trail see The Saxon Shore Way.
