Drum (Carneddau) is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (53rd highest in Wales, 126th highest in England & Wales). Drum (Carneddau) means 'Ridge' in Welsh. The summit of Drum (Carneddau) is marked by a large cairn/shelter.

Completing this walk will also take you to the top of Carnedd y Ddelw at 688m (2258ft). Carnedd y Ddelw is known as a Welsh Bridget. Carnedd y Ddelw means 'Cairn of the Idol' in Welsh. The summit of Carnedd y Ddelw is marked by a large cairn / shelter.

You will also reach the summit of Pen y Castell at 623m (2045ft). Pen y Castell is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (166th highest in Wales, 392nd highest in England & Wales).

Along the way you will also bag and tick-off:

  • Tal y Fan at 610m (2002ft). Tal y Fan is classified as a Welsh Mountain (Hewitt) (135th Wales, 315th Eng & Wal), a Welsh Nuttall (187th highest in Wales, 437th highest in England & Wales) and a Welsh Marilyn (54th Wales, 751st highest in the UK). Tal y Fan means 'End Peak' in Welsh. The summit of Tal y Fan is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point on the S side of the wall.
  • Foel Lwyd at 603m (1979ft). Foel Lwyd is classified as a Welsh Dewey (11th highest in Wales, 19th highest in England & Wales). Foel Lwyd means 'Rocky Bare Hill' in Welsh. The summit of Foel Lwyd is marked by a cairn.
  • Yr Orsedd at 559m (1835ft). Yr Orsedd is classified as a Welsh Dewey (70th highest in Wales, 125th highest in England & Wales). Yr Orsedd means 'Rossett' in Welsh.
