I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bakewell hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Previously a keen mountaineer, now simply looking for good company to enjoy our great outdoors with. Looking forward to retirement in a couple of years from a long career in the offshore world so only weekend walks are possible currently. Wear and tear precludes 'power hiking' so very happy to stop for views, geology, history, etc., and hopefully a good pub at the end of the day!

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chesterfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. My name is Stephen, a widower in my early sixties. I have walked every inch of the Peak District in all weathers and visited every place on the map ending in the word dale. I discovered a love of hill walking in Scotland in my teens and have never lost the lust for life to explore over the next hill. I still work so keep my walking to weekends with my ageing but very willing dog, but have plenty of opportunity to take time off in the week. It would be great to visit different areas as I do enjoy driving and it would be very pleasant to be introduced to new walks and new people and likewise, I can certainly introduce you to the delights of Derbyshire - pubs and all.

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Swansea hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm Catherine

I've moved back to Swansea having lived abroad for many years, and would love to meet new walking friends to explore the Gower coast and surrounding areas. I would also love to go to the Isles of Scilly one day and back to France. Walks of around six miles would be my ideal. I love to be in nature and would appreciate walking with someone who would be happy to pause and enjoy the surrounding views and wildlife.

In the summer I love swimming in the sea and would ideally like to meet new swimming companions too.

I am single, quite vivacious and easy to talk to, although I am equally comfortable walking in silence. I'd be happy with a meal and a drink either during or after a walk, and would love to hear from anyone who would like to join me.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:

My Preferred Walk Areas:

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I don't drive.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Swimming

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Glasgow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in Glasgow, with my border collie Rannoch, not too far from Loch Lomond. I used to be a regular walker in my younger days and I'm looking to get back into the great outdoors but would prefer to do it with some company, so I am looking for new friends to go walking with.
In the past I did the West Highland Way three times, The Great Glen Way once. Nowadays I'm a lot slower but I find that a good thing as it means I'm out in the green stuff longer.
I'm easy going, enjoy new challenges, and always up for a laugh, life's too short to be too serious !!!
I like to play guitar, love nature, wildlife, taking photos, and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
If you fancy some company on a walk please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Chris. I am a fairly experienced walker from Chester. My wife no longer walks seriously, so I would be interested to meet a companion (female or male) to join me walking - preferably in the Lake District where I have a holiday home near to Kendal.

In 2019 I completed Hadrians Wall, and In 2018 the West Highland Way, and previously the Coast to Coast, The Wicklow Way and the Dingle Way in Ireland.

I prefer to walk in company these days though not in groups, and enjoy stimulating conversation, taking the time to savour my surroundings and enjoying the wonderful views these sceptred isles present. I have a good sense of humour, and can see the funny side of most things! I am always accompanied by at least 2 of my working Springer Spaniels.

As I am retired, every day is the weekend for me.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Llanfyllin, hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm Dan
Most of my walking is done in North Wales, only occasionally straying over the border into Shropshire, I do circular walks as the only way to get around wales quickly is by car, I do a huge variety of walks, Walks around lakes and reservoirs, Mountain peaks, Canal walks, follow moorland tracks, and streams to their source,.
Most of the walks are published (off the peg walks), but i like to plan and research my own walks as well. I do remote moorland walks as i like the peace and solitude, Moorlands are the last of the unspoilt countryside free from the clutter of modern living.
When i go walking i like to take photographs of my walk as this forms a visual picture board memory of my walks. Here are just 2 of the walks i would like to do this year,
Newborough Warren sand dunes on Anglesey, (Some of the best in Europe)

Go over the boarder into Shropshire in search of Britains rarest tree,
If you would like to Lap up the Legends, or Dismiss the Myths, and play among the hills, drop me a line. Dan.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Shrewsbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I have recently completed the West Highland Way, an amazing experience in spite of the midges. I also like short strolls along the local river or up a local hill. So in terms of making walking friends I am pretty flexible when it comes to types of walks.

I also enjoy overseas travel, I have recently returned from trip with a vehicle to Moroccan Sahara.

As you may have noticed, I ticked the box to say that I am looking for walking friends but I would be happy if someone special came along. If you think you might be that'someone special' then I'm happy to share a bit more about myself.

I hope to hear from you soon.

My Message: Hi there, Lover of nature and my ideal day is a scenic walk and prefer an amble rather than fast pace ramble so can take it all in. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bushey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm David, I'm 64 and widowed. Life is for living and I'm not ready to just sit back in a comfortable armchair having spent a number of years bringing up a young family alone. I'm hoping to make new friends for adventures and challenges,both here in the UK and overseas. I want to grab life for myself and start exploring the great outdoors. I'm fit and love being outdoors in all weathers, either walking or running. There aren't many hills in Hertfordshire so I'm happy to travel, although I'm also interested in more local walks across fields, bridleways and canal footpaths, especially if there is the incentive of coffee and cake. I'm generally a novice walker although have previously walked in the Peak District, Yorkshire, The Lake District and Scotland. My kids say they have the local care home on speed dial so I'm hoping to be rescued.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Brierfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello. I'm an athletic and active 62 yr old male (who still thinks he's 25). I retired from policing and all those years of walking the beat. I've been back packing around the world, done Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu etc. but still loads to see. It would be great to explore with a like minded female companion or any groups. I'm based in Briarfield near Burnley but, as a part time pensioner and Sports Coach (!) I've got time, spontaneity, solvency and inclination to bag those peaks. So do get in touch... I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live close to the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there and around me, not to race to the end. What would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments or a meal. I'm just into my 70's but am fit and younger in appearance and character. I can get along with most people of all ages. I generally like to walk between 5-15 miles I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. I drive and don't see anywhere on the mainland as too far. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Mid Devon hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking to meet people to walk with mainly on Exmoor and Dartmoor but I would also be keen to visit other areas. I have done over 80 Munros including all of the ones on The Cullin but haven't been that way for a while and am a bit less fit now! I enjoy relaxed company (not a route march) to take in the surroundings with interesting happy people. I don't take myself too seriously and am up for new experiences and challenges. It is good to stop off at the odd pub however tea rooms seem to appeal more now as alcohol gives me migraines ☹️ however tea rooms tend not to have roaring fires so I struggle to decide!

I have two very friendly but bouncy dogs who I walk with but conversation is very limited! I struggle to find folk who want to go for long rambles over the moor but I just love being up there.

I am not working at present so am available weekdays and weekends, having worked all of my life it is nice to have a break.

Please get in touch if you want relaxed, friendly company for a walk but please do remember that I have got two very enthusiastic dogs so it would be better if you are a dog lover!

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Swansea hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm 58 and live near Gower/Swansea and would love to meet new walking companions as most of my friends aren't interested and the ones who are, have other demands on their time.
Unfortunately, due to concerns around Covid I haven't managed to go walking, or get out and about in general, as much as I would like in the last couple of years. I've just started again, weather permitting, although I'm not particularly fond of walking alone, but I have to rebuild my fitness and stamina. If I was lucky enough to meet someone local to me then I envisage perhaps doing a few relatively easy walks around Gower/Pembrokeshire initially and then tackling some steeper hills and mountains. I dislike winter intensely but am quite able to go walking in cold conditions (a few Western Canadian winters toughened me up in that regard).
I work full-time and am also doing an OU degree so until the lighter evenings return I'm tied to weekends, mainly in South/West/Mid Wales. Once spring arrives, however, I'd be happy to take leave from work to walk locally or further afield. I've been walking and camping in the Canadian Rockies, plus various N American National Parks, several times and I want to go back to Dartmoor and N Devon, Ireland and the Lake District in the coming years. I'd also like to hike in Scotland, Norway eg Lofoten Islands and the Grand Canyon and definitely want to visit Cuba someday.
I'm a bit of a contradiction really, being an introverted extrovert; however, I can get along with most people and hold my own on various subjects. I've noticed that there are many donkeys missing hind legs in my vicinity although I do also enjoy peace and quiet and just being aware of and contemplating nature. I love dogs, horses and most other animals, and my interests include music, reading, camping, travelling, summer nights in beer gardens, comedy clubs, spirituality, being by the sea, swimming, geography, history, politics and volunteering. I'm a car owner/driver and am happy to travel across the UK and Ireland. I often think about sea swimming but that's as far as I've got, so if you're into that then all the better!

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West England; Wales; The Heart of England; South West England; Connacht, Ireland; Munster (Am Mhumhain), Ireland;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near North Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am passionate about the hills, wild places and like a challenge. I'm easy going and have a soh - semi-retired so can walk in the week as well as at week-ends. I usually walk with groups, friends or alone to practice navigation (which I am reasonable at). I am a reasonably fit 'plodder' and hillwalking is my main interest - its always better to share adventures with likeminded others. I moved to the Yorkshire dales five years ago and am enjoying having some great walking on the doorstep. I've walked extensively in Scotland, Lake District, North Wales and Europe. I'm seeking walking buddies who might be interested in doing long distance paths here or abroad and/or hillwalking in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Northumberland or Scotland. I'm used to driving to walk locations.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 4:5:6:7:8:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Cambridge hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am currently walking the England Coast Path and am up to Southampton. I am looking for friends to continue walking from Poole onwards (west) on the South East Coast Path, towards Land's End. I generally walk 6-10 miles a day (but can walk a bit more) for a few days, then drive back home for a rest. I generally stay in hotels, but camping and b&bs are also ok. You could join me for a few days for one section, or even just one day, that's ok. Other areas, especially East Anglia or the coast of Wales, are also ok.
I am easy going, like to drink coffee and tea, the occassional drink in a pub, watch a bit of football. I especially like chatting to locals in cafes and pubs along the way when I stop for a rest from walking. For me, walking the coast path is more about meeting people and learning about the UK than purely the exercise. I am British, was born and grew up here, but spent most of my adult life abroad in different countries. I am open to meeting different kinds of people.

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live in London, but have done lots of long distance path walking and a fair bit of mountain walking in Scotland, Arran, Cairngorms, Mull... I would love to explore more of the countryside, mostly the northern half of the country and Ireland, which I'm sorry to say I've never been to!

I work part-time as a bicycle instructor, helping people to be confident riding on the road. I'm fairly flexible about when I can go away, because I pick my own hours :-).

Don't be put off by the fact that I live in London! I can travel!!
