A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Llanfyllin, hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm Dan
Most of my walking is done in North Wales, only occasionally straying over the border into Shropshire, I do circular walks as the only way to get around wales quickly is by car, I do a huge variety of walks, Walks around lakes and reservoirs, Mountain peaks, Canal walks, follow moorland tracks, and streams to their source,.
Most of the walks are published (off the peg walks), but i like to plan and research my own walks as well. I do remote moorland walks as i like the peace and solitude, Moorlands are the last of the unspoilt countryside free from the clutter of modern living.
When i go walking i like to take photographs of my walk as this forms a visual picture board memory of my walks. Here are just 2 of the walks i would like to do this year,
Newborough Warren sand dunes on Anglesey, (Some of the best in Europe)

Go over the boarder into Shropshire in search of Britains rarest tree,.
If you would like to Lap up the Legends, or Dismiss the Myths, and play among the hills, drop me a line. Dan.

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Reading hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi.
Retired,very young at heart lady, with good sense of humour, enjoys walking in nice places, and taking in the scenery, visiting a gallery, quaint coffee shop, historical building, places of interest. Enjoy watching my team play football too :) Currently tend to walk alone locally in west Berkshire area, taking the train to villages outside of area at times..
Always enjoyed adventures to new places..would love to share some of that with someone who has the time.
Now I have more time, would be lovely to share the moments and have a laugh and an adventure along the way...stop off to take in the scenery and some lunch.....
I'm open to walking in most places, usually near to home, And surrounding areas, but not restricted to that and happy to venture further afield,once I know someone to go for walks with...Love walking in countryside and to villages with things to see 😊..
I do enjoy a tranquil setting...A short train ride and I'm in London Paddington.Enjoy some walks around London too,
I completed the walk around Hadrian's wall some years ago..completed over a few weekends...😊👍
I've not been on here for some time. Decided to take up more walking, so I'm back :)
Do get in touch maybe have a chat see if we feel it would be a good move forward.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near Devon hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've done loads of walking overseas - recently in the Apuans and Appenines - and several long-distance paths (SW Coast Path, Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Tramontana in Majorca, Lycian Way in Turkey) and get out once or twice a week locally in Devon, and have had holidays in Lake District, Cairngorms, Brecon Beacons, Peak District, Cotswolds etc. etc.! I'm not really into bagging peaks but will gladly accompany someone who wants to. My ideal is a day out, walking up to 12 miles or so, with ascents (don't like the descents so much as it's hard on the old knees but if you go up......). I have found group walking not too good - I'm so used to walking on my own that I don't converse as much as others - but feel that, as I get older, a companion is a good idea!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live close to the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there and around me, not to race to the end. What would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments or a meal. I'm just into my 70's but am fit and younger in appearance and character. I can get along with most people of all ages. I generally like to walk between 5-10 miles I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. I drive and don't see anywhere on the mainland as too far. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, doplease get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Shrewsbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm planning to do the West Highland Way later in the year, an idea which I got whilst on a multi centred camping trip with my van. I also like short strolls along the local river or up a local hill. So in terms of making walking friends I am pretty flexible in terms of your interest.

I also enjoy overseas travel, pre pandemic I was in the habit of making regualr winter trips to India (not necessarily walking trips). I have recently decided to combine trekking in the Himalayas with travelling in Southern India this winter. The details aren't yet decided but I am aiming for an extended trip.

As you may have noticed, I ticked the box to say that I am looking for walking friends but I would be happy if someone special came along. If you think you might be that'someone special' then you do need to be female and you might want to know a bit more about me... feel free to to ask. Walking friends of any gender or sexuality are welcome.

I hope to hear from you soon :)

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I now work part time so have plenty of time to go walking locally and nationally. I am friendly and reliable and like to chat on a walk.

I am looking for people who love walking and are looking for someone to join them. I would like to meet someone who is also interested in walking some of the long distance paths across the country. Sometimes we need a bit of motivation and encouragement and it is always better to have some company and support. Distance and speed are not that important. I equally enjoy local half day walks in the south of England to all day challenges in the mountains. But, it's always nice to end up in a country pub at the end of the day.

I am a reasonable map reader and whilst generally cautious by nature, I am fairly confident in the mountains. I have a car so can travel as necessary. I like to chat about about most things and it would be a bonus if you had a good sense of humour too. I'll try to respond to all responses.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Warminster hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I'm hoping to meet a female walking buddy for half day, full day or multi day hikes. Some camping would be great also, especially wild camping. I particularly love walking in Dartmoor/Exmoor and certainly prefer hills and mountains to coast, but am open to pretty much anything.
I am generally fairly quiet and self contained, but would love to have someone to appreciate everything time in the hills and off the beaten track offers. I currently solo walk (with my dog), have my own car and usually have a day or two off in the week as well as most weekends.
If any of this sounds interesting, please do drop me a line and say hi!

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Matlock hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. Would love to meet and walk with someone predominantly in the Peak District but can travel further afield in the autumn and winter seasons. I've walked the Camino, Cleveland Way (many years ago) and the Peak Pilgrimage a couple of years ago. Quite happy now doing walks in between 6 - 10 miles looking at plants and wildlife on the way. I am generally free Saturdays and certain days in the week. I would say I'm an average fitness - digging on my allotment also keeps me fit! I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stoke On Trent hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm a recently retired 63 year old living in the Staffordshire Moorlands. I moved here when I retired as I enjoy walking in the Peak District so much but also enjoy walking in other areas. Location isn't too important as I am prepared to travel to meet for a walk.

I am fit and competent and enjoy a challenging walk or an easy walk and I like to take in the views whichever. I am open to any level of walk as it's sometimes good to just get out and it's always good to find a good pub or cafe at the end. As well as walking I also enjoy running and cycling although I can just enjoy being outdoors watching and listening. It's the simple things in life that appeal to me most.

As much as I enjoy the outdoors it is by no means everything to me. I enjoy listening to a lot of music having a very broad taste and especially like live music but not in big venues. I also enjoy cinema and theatre or just having a chat in a café or pub with friends.

It would be great to share the outdoors and other things with a like minded woman though I have a very inquisitive mind and I'd be more than happy to be introduced to new interests.

My boring details are I'm single with no children or any other ties. I'm 5'8" and slim/average build.

I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Road Cycling
  • Wild Swimming.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hoping to meet male 50-70 for company on walks, bike rides, and maybe runs, initially in the Peak District. Have walked Yorkshire 3 peaks on my own in 2019 and take part in trail running events in the Lakes and Yorkshire. I don't really like large group walks, preferring relative solitude!I work full time, often from home, and flexibly, but would mainly be walking at weekends. Fitness is important to me, as is being out and about in the countryside. I like to challenge myself and would like to complete the Wainwright's, Dale's high way, and the Wales Coast Path in the next few years.

My Message: I am a kind & polite, fit mid 50s male living in West Dorset on Jurassic Coast. I am very active & and enjoy walking the beautiful local coastal & rural routes. Not into gruelling walks but looking for some female or male company to accompany me on SW Coast Path and other well known walks in a 'not too seriuos' manner.
I live in the Bride Valley near the Bredys with instant access to lots of lovely walks but purely looking for a walking companion/friend. I have a wide range of interests,bit of a whacky sense of humour when appropriate. I lead quite a busy life hence would prefer to keep the walks to the West Dorset areas.

I've recently moved to the Malvern Hills area where there are many interesting walks over hills and through woods, so do come along and visit! I enjoy all kinds of walking, from low level meandering along a wooded valley to scrambling in the Lake District. I also enjoy camping, in the right weather (!), and cycling.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Kingston hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Mary, looking to meet up with people who are starting out walking on a regular basis.
I live near Kingston, so walks around London, Surrey, and south east are good. I've been on a couple of walking holidays, but would like to incorporate a walk into my week a couple of times a month. I work full time, but it's shift work so times vary and can be available during the week as well as weekend.
My hobbies are cooking, crafts, reading, psychology. I would like to start walking regularly and progress to longer walks which are further afield.

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

My Message: I live in London, but have done lots of long distance path walking and a fair bit of mountain walking in Scotland, Arran, Cairngorms, Mull... I would love to explore more of the countryside, mostly the northern half of the country and Ireland, which I'm sorry to say I've never been to!

I work part-time as a bicycle instructor, helping people to be confident riding on the road. I'm fairly flexible about when I can go away, because I pick my own hours :-).

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Nantwich hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone. My name is Andrew and I am 56 years old and live in Nantwich. I have been interested in walking since I was able to walk. I have done a few challenges in my life like walking across Scotland in a week from East to West, completed the Welsh 3000s in one day, walked around the Lake District. I am not afraid of going up the hills or down in the valley, its going for a walk in the great outdoors. I would be interested in joining up with someone to enjoy the walks and if the dogs come too then a bonus, so who is out there? Are you interested? I look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to know more.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Waddington hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
My name's Michael, I'm in my mid sixties, six feet tall and I'm looking for a female companion to share my interests which include photography,gardening, reading, antique shops and exploring our beautiful countryside.
I'm fit and active and still working in a job I enjoy which involves being outside all year round.
I own my own detached home in the beautiful Ribble valley, I'm solvent, single with no children or baggage.
I'm honest, considerate and caring with a good sense of humour, ( you need one of those with my job!! ). I have nice manners and morals and am very respectful
I have a one year old border collie whose going to be trained as a Search and Rescue dog.

It would be lovely to find a lady with the same outlook in life with whom I can talk to and enjoy companiable silences.
I have always enjoyed being in the hills and mountains and spent 15 years as a member of a busy mountain rescue team, so I've a good idea of what im doing out there!!
Ive travelled fairly extensively throughout Europe and done on ortwo big mountains over the years.

These days though are spent at a more sedate pace, I love the Scottish mountains and venture up there two or three times a year, but most weekends I'm up in the Howgills near Sedburgh, the western Yorkshire dales or this lovely area where I live.

I'm not interested in joining a ramblers club or walking with a big group of people...they're not for me. I do go walking occasionally with two or three very close friends but it would be nice to find someone on the same wavelength who would like to share some happy days in the hills come rain or shine.
