I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Bingley hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi all,
My name is Bry, looking primarily for walking partner(s) in the Yorkshire area but am also mobile and with a keen desire to explore new areas once the current regulations permit this.
I am physically in reasonable shape, ex military (Royal Navy) and currently work at sea in the commercial Geoscience sector, so geophysical / geotechnical seabed surveys for the oil and gas, wind and cable industries. This means I am away for a few weeks at a time, but when not at sea have complete freedom. I am currently single with no ties, and try and spend as much time as possible in the hills. Currently restricted to the moors around Ilkley due to national constraints, but love driving to the Dales for longer walks. I consider myself of above average fitness for my age, but always room for improvement. Would not be adverse to overnight trips or expeditions, have a love of exploration that won't seem to go away. I am fortunate to be well travelled, have done hikes in Antarctica, Falklands and South America amongst others but don't let that put you off.
Laid back, articulate and confident. Will walk with anyone of any ability for companionship, would not rule out anything more if there was any chemistry but not looking for that to be a defining reason for being on here.
Sky is the limit, so please get in touch if you want to know more, chat or maybe arrange a meet. I consider myself socially responsible, so will need to be within current guidelines for meeting until things change. Current situation wont last forever!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Canterbury hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello. Having played sport for many years I now enjoy walking regularly and love exploring the countryside, coastal areas and beautiful scenery. I particularly like seeking new adventures and going to places I haven't seen before.
I have a good sense of humour (I think we need it at the moment!), am not put off by inclement weather and will try most things! I also enjoy historical places of interest, art galleries, watching sport and sometimes grabbing a coffee or a beer on the way!
I am comfortable in my own company but would love to share some adventures with someone likeminded and kind.
I am from Kent but have my own car and will travel to most places to have a nice day's walking and:or days out. I currently walk around the Kent coast and countryside, but often (when not in lockdown!) will travel anywhere right across the south of England and further afield.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Corby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Just rediscovering my love of walking.
As a single man with a campervan (that doesn't sound in the slightest bit dodgy does it) I love the tranquility of being out in the countryside or on the coast with my muppet dog but I'm getting bored with my own company and would like to find local people to enjoy the outdoors with.
Christmas for me will be bagging a few wainwrights and that would be great with someone to share those fantastic walks.
OK Christmas came and went, I had a fantastic time at Keswick until the campsite was evacuated at 3 in the morning due to the potential of the river flooding (Booths carpark looked like the gypsies had moved in) so came home a day early and then we went back into lock down but im optimistic and have booked near Windermere for Easter again it would be good to meet up with some people to share the views.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Market Harborough South East Leicestershire hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi - my name is Debbie and I would love to hear from a guy who wants to get out there walking and breathing in some beautiful places again (when restrictions have finally lifted!) If you fancy sharing your enthusiasm and walking/trail experience on some great journeys with me I'd be made up.
Most walking lengths are good with me as I want to build up my stamina again and can't wait to get discovering the undiscovered! Did Kinder Scout a good while ago but there's so much more out there to see. Love scenic hills and trails, rocky or flat paths as long as it's out in the open and feels like an adventure!
If you feel like minded and have a great sense of humour and want some good company then let's make a plan. The local area is good here but have always got the Peaks, Lakes and Dales in mind.
Love good food and a beer or just a coffee and a sandwich en route.
Love using my mountain bike too when I feel like a change. Get in touch if any of this sounds like fun.
I work two wknds a month, get Mondays and a regular Friday off and can arrange to swap weekdays off to suit

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Newbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi.
Retired,very young at heart lady, with good sense of humour, enjoys walking in nice places, and taking in the scenery, visiting a gallery, quaint coffee shop, historical building, places of interest. Currently tend to walk alone locally in west Berkshire area, taking the train to villages outside of area at times..
Always enjoyed adventures to new places..it's been ok doing things alone but got to thinking it may be more fun to share nice walks
Now I have more time, would be lovely to share the moments and have a laugh and an adventure along the way...stop off to take in the scenery and some lunch...
I'm open to walking in most places, usually near to home, And surrounding areas, but not restricted to that and happy to venture further afield,once I know someone to go for walks with...Love walking in countryside and to villages with things to see 😊..
I do enjoy a tranquil setting...in the countryside and also can enjoy a walk in London, at one of the many parks...
I completed the walk around Hadrian's wall some time ago..completed over a few weekends...😊👍
Hoping to hear from someone soon...don't seem to be many people in my area.. 🤣 🤣..

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Liverpool hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm Elaine. I live in Liverpool and enjoy mountain walking in The Lakes, Snowdonia and Scotland. I've done some European mountain walking including the Mont Blanc trek which was more challenging than I thought it was going to be. I have enjoyed years of solo mountain walking but in recent years I have started walking in groups which has been fun and tends to make walking more memorable.I'm fit, happy and healthy and pretty easy going with other easy going people.I love walking with experienced walkers who either have excellent knowledge of an area or good map reading navigational skills..I'm currently working from home and tend to go walking at weekends to the Lakes, Snowdonia, yorkshire. Managed 4 days in the Lakes before we were all put into lockdown..discovered a fabulous low level circular route around Great Langdale and Little Langdale.
I'm looking to meet and walk with experienced mountain walkers, people or a person who is/are fun, easy going, with a bit of a sense of adventure. I'm single and it would be amazing to meet Mr right for me but if that doesn't happen I will gladly settle and be thankful for making new walking friends.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Hove hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi folks, I haven't been as proactive in getting out and walking in the last few years as much as I would have liked to. My aim is to change al of that and I would like to meet likeminded people to enjoy walks with.
I don't mind where I walk and would like to be introduced to some new places to explore.
I am fairly fit and used to run Marathons, but my knees won't take that level of punishment anymore but I can walk all day long.
I work during the week so preferably i'd like to meet up for weekend walks.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Wakefield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: My absolute best place to be is outdoors walking the hills, dales, valleys... feeling freeee and being amongst the natural world. I've enjoyed walking for many years, and although never been a big mountaineer myself, over the years I have found myself drawn to these dramatic landscapes (Skye, The Hebrides, Glencoe, Scotland, The Lakes). I am equally besotted with the other end of the UK being fortunate enough to have lived in the south west region for just over a couple of years and was absolutely blown away by the coast walking and Dartmoor. However being a Yorkshire lass the Dales feature regularly. (I'm also very happy to have an amble around my own neck of the woods with my little dog who is getting a bit too old now for longer hikes).
I'm preety flexible on when and where I can walk and I would like to think I am fairly fit (though those knees can sometimes play up). My usual distance these days is between 6-8 miles although it would be great to work towards longer walks when daylight hours allow. I'm afraid I have never learned the skill of map reading (oh dear you would have thought that would have been ticked off by now - really!)so that would be useful if you can map read - although I have several walking books which line my book shelf to support the maps ?!
So if you fancy doing some post lockdown walks and sharing a sarni and a flask en route it would be good to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking for walking friends to do weekday or weekend walks of 10-20 miles with in West Yorkshire or an hour or two's drive away - the Lakes or Peak District are areas i want to get to know better but they are probably weekend trips for me. I enjoy walking in easily accessible or remoter areas.

Currently i try to get out 2-3 times a week. After a year or two though i am getting a bit bored with my own company! Last year I did the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and Pennine Way during lockdown and post lockdown,

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near West Yorkshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I have always had a deep feeling of spiritual fulfilment after, and for example, a walk in The Lake District, or a walk along a beautiful beach somewhere. Years ago I lived and worked in the Lakes but have somehow lost my contact with that place. Subsequent domiciles have included The Hebrides, Dartmoor, Snowdonia, North Downs, and now West Yorkshire.
Guess I'm not a gear freak or a competitive walker, my main aspiration is oneness with nature.
My preferences are walking just by myself or equally with just one other person.
Reasonable travel is okay but I would have a priority on walks available close to me ( appropriate at this time of restrictions, but maybe when it's all sorted, a wonderful celebratory party walk??).
Reasonably fit and healthy and an ideal sort of walk for me would be in the range of 5 - 12 miles.
Can be a good conversationalist and a mindful/soulful quiet walking buddy.
Friday - Sunday are my available days.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Manchester hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I am 55 years old, 5'5" and from Manchester looking for a female walking partner. Love being outdoors and enjoy walking in the Lakes, Lancashire, Dales, Peak District and further afield. I walk all year round and in most weather. I have hiked a few Munros and would love to get some more under my belt if you are up for that! Just as happy to walk river banks, reservoirs etc. and like to end the day in a country pub.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; Connacht, Ireland;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Perth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello! I live in Perth and for thirteen years the surrounding area has been an outdoor playground I have loved exploring with my children. Since getting an active rescue dog, Max, in Feb 2020 I have done a lot more solo (& Ramblers) walking. So far it's mostly low level and low hills e.g. the Sidlaws while I gain confidence. To date, my highest hill is Ben Vrackie (841m), my dreichest walk was the Glen Sherup horseshoe in a group and my longest walk was about 13 miles up and down small hills. I'd like to go further / higher / more remote & I'd love to climb a munro, It's not that I think it would be too difficult, more that I would like company, especially for safety. I'm regularly reminded in the local news etc of the hazards of walking in Scotland & I try to be prepared. I can read a map pretty well but need to re-remember how to take bearings & so just now I don't walk where I might be uncertain of the route. I have a lot of freedom to choose when I walk & will follow the sun as much as possible. Much of my time is spent alone & I'm equally happy with conversation or quiet company. I like history, languages & translating songs. Pre-dog and pre-covid in my free time I combined cycling & dancing tango across the UK and in Europe. Once lockdown ends I would be unlikely to venture much beyond my region until I gain in experience & because there is so much already here.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 2:3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East Scotland;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Llanfyllin, hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm Dan 69 years old, semi retired and looking for a walking friend,
Have a P.L.B. but they do not make very good walking companions, I do any kind of walks from short walks published by the R.S.P.B.and other organisations, or cut out of magazines by friends, to 8 to 10 mile circular walks, I don't do national trails or peak bagging,
I like remote mountain walks and moorland walks, I use off the peg circular walks mostly, but like to plan and research my own walks as well, I like to follow rivers across open moorland to their source My other interests are driving on mountain passes, train trips and visiting museums,.
Dan.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Yarm hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Colin and I enjoy exploring some of the beautiful countryside around the North-East. E.g. the Yorkshire Moors and Dales. I am looking for a walking partner to join me and, when the walk is suitable, my Golden Retriever, Dudley. I am retired so I am available most days. As my wife isn't interested in the great outdoors or walking, it's often just me and Dudley and it can be quite challenging trying to keep an eye on Dudley and follow a walk at the same time. I would appreciate a partner both for company and for a 'second pair of eyes' when following a walk. I'm very quiet, easy-going and not very adventurous so tend not to do anything risky. Please drop me a line if you are interested in joining me some time. By the way, I also enjoy a pint of beer but it must be real ale!

My Message: Hello, I'm on the lookout for new walking companions that share my passion for walking in the hills. I try to get out into the North York Moors or Dales as frequently as possible. Weekends in Snowdonia and Cumbria are always treasured. I'm trying to expand my general wildlife knowledge and have also started dabbling in some basic foraging. I usually manage to walk abroad once a year (the Julian Alps in Slovenia are my absolute favourite). Would love to hook up with like minded folk to share a walk or two so please get in touch. Thanks for reading. Patrick.
