I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Manchester hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm a 54 year old male from Manchester looking for a female walking partner. Love being outdoors and enjoy walking in the Lakes, Lancashire, Dales, Peak District and further afield. I walk all year round and in most weather. I have hiked a few Munros and would love to get some more climbed if you are up for that! Just as happy to walk river banks, reservoirs etc. and enjoy finishing the day in a country pub.
**Update March 2019. I have booked 2 weeks in Scotland near The Cairngorms in mid May. Hoping to walk some Munros. Would enjoy some female company. Please get in touch if interested. Unable to upload a pic to the site**

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Wrea Green, Lancashire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for new walking friends, either male or female, to share walks in Lancashire/Yorkshire and the Lake District. I am retired and in my mid-60's and live on the Fylde coast at Wrea Green but I also have a base in the South Lakes.

I am an experienced hill walker with many years experience of climbing, walking and scrambling in the Lake District, Scotland and abroad. I no longer climb but still enjoy the hills and lower level walks with my 9 year old Collie dog, Mattie. I love being in the outdoors, exploring new areas and enjoy all levels of walking from hills, valleys to coastal walks and keen to find like minded people to share those walks with. I am currently part way through the Wainwrights. I also go up to Scotland once or twice a year and would like to share these trips for Munro or Corbett bagging.

My hobbies are watercolour painting, gardening, geology (fossil hunting) and anything arts and crafts.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Settle hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

There's no record breaking walking in me unless well planned and I've other interests that keep me exercised and outdoors too but I'm very keen to meet a local walking partner... for local walking

.... one who might encourage me to try new walks and more challenging ones - and be happy to take a welcome break on the way or at the end.

So if you like walking on my side of the lakes, by national park, Bowland forest or Malhamdale please get in touch. Occasionally further afield is fine too. As I live in great walking country I seldom drive far to walk & prefer that.

I will walk up to 8 -9 miles but im happy with a 4-6 mile - a lot depends on time or terrain. I like to set off in the dry when the views are sharp & be prepared for rain if I must.

I generally know my walking paths (& like to be near water ) - that's why im unused to map reading - but can if I must. I don't mind dogs if kept on a lead.

With Best wishes. Alyson

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Wigan hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Julie, I am single, 59yrs old, a secretary in a school (so lots of lovely holidays) and enjoy walking. My friends unfortunately aren't really keen on walking and I would like to find someone/small group of friends/like minded people to go out for the day or weekend exploring the countryside, preferably at weekends. I was an assessor with the Duke of Edinburgh so can read a map reasonably well. Would like to think I am good company, good fun, easy going, enjoy a good laugh and a lively debate. I do have a small dog, so must like dogs. Would really enjoy some good company and to the end the day in a nice pub with good food and a well earned glass of wine. ps I haven't done much walking for a while, so a little unfit.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Western Beacons hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello my name is Roger and I live near the Western Beacons in Wales. Since taking early retirement from teaching I now work part time and freelance for AAP's delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme mostly in the Peak District, Lake District, Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons but I'm available for training, supervising and assessing anywhere during the expedition season. When I'm on DofE I'll use my day van and stay on campsites, out of season I'll stay in a Youth Hostel or find an Air BnB near the area I'm exploring. In addition to walking I like visiting interesting places like National Trust properties e.g. Attingham Park near Shrewsbury and exploring different parts of the coast and countryside in the UK, Ireland and abroad. I'm free to walk during school holidays, some week days and most weekends and would like someone to share my time with.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Barnoldswick hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker, now retired so have more time to get out and about. I walk quite regularly with friends but as they are still working this is confined largely to weekends. We've enjoyed tackling many of the long distance paths over the years. I walk a lot on my own too or with my dog but would like to meet a like-minded walking buddy, preferably reasonably nearby. It would be good perhaps to share some Wainwright bagging or explore new areas more or less anywhere in the British Isles or even beyond. There are so many places I still want to see and it would be great to do so in good company. I'd love to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Matlock hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Adrian, single, retired, fit, and keen to meet an active fit female walking companion to explore our beautiful islands, and further afield. I have a camper van to tour and also to use as a mobile base for circular and linear walks, perhaps on long distance national trails. I enjoy all types of walks both short and full day walks and long distance. I have completed a number of classic long distance paths including The Pennine Way and Wainwrights Coast to Coast, but I'm not against doing these again if my companion wished to do them. Not so good on heights these days so I avoid walking on high level narrow ledges. I am a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, non competitive nature, passionate about our natural world, fun loving, often quirky. Other interests include camping, cycling, casual nature walks, am NT and RSPB member, conservation volunteering, reading, eclectic taste in music, art cinema, theatre, the arts, wildlife gardening and DIY. Am politically a bit of a lefty. If any of this appeals, please get in touch.

My Message: Hello, I'm David, single, 65 and just retired (summer '12), I live in east Manchester and would like to meet singles or a group to make walking more pleasurable. I'm not that experienced a walker so may have to be gradually more adventurous in my excursions, having said that my last job was very active so I need more than a gentle stroll to the pub! I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Kendal hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
Born and brought up in Cumbria. Back again after many years away. Travelled widely. USA, Asia, Europe. Climbed a few foreign hills as well as most in Cumbria. Now getting to know Wales and Scotland, while catching up with friends and fellow walkers. Really love the hills and mountains anywhere, but Cumbria and Dales are very local to me.

Had my ML assessment in a couple of years ago and now manage to pick up some professional walk. Being paid for what I love. What could be better!

Love to 'talk and walk' so good companion also essential and someone who is not too worried if I stop to take photos.

Reasonably read, literate, enjoy the arts and eco-friendly, if you think you would enjoy my company would love to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Sheffield hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi... I'm a single female with a positive outlook on life. Love the outdoors and being out in the elements. I enjoy all types of walk from short to long and it's a bonus if there's a pub at the end. I've always loved the outdoors and go canoeing and kayaking whenever I can. Absolutely love the Lakes and Northumberland at any time of year. I also enjoy cycling, photography, art and film. If you think we'd get along and would like a walk sometime feel free to get in touch- Sue

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Mountain Biking
  • Canoeing Kayaking

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Near Skipton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi all,

I'm a mid-forties male, and I would like to meet new walking friends, male or female to spend time walking and enjoying our wonderful countryside.
I enjoy both Long Distance Paths and shorter walks too. I also enjoy weekends spent walking with a rural pub or two thrown in. Allegedly I'm experienced at map reading and navigating, although that doesn't necessarily mean I always finish the walk at the intended time!

At the end of April or early May 2019, I'm going to walk the Wainwright Coast to Coast trail and take my trusty 2.1kg tent with me. That said, I could be persuaded to use a B&B on the route too!
It would be lovely if anyone reading this would like to join me for some or all of the way! Please do get in touch if you fancy the coast to coast in whatever guise.

If the c2c isn't your thing, do get in touch anyway if you fancy getting out n about on a trail or three. Thanks for reading..

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 2:3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive. I do not have my own vehicle but can borrow or rent one.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Buxton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi there!
New Years Resolution - more walking! I like to get out at least one day of the weekend, for a full days walk if possible. My average walk is around 10 miles, but happy to go for less or more depending on season and conditions. Would like to do a distance path this summer, maybe the Anglesey Coastal Path or the Dales Way. Have previously walked the Great Glen Way and sections of the Coast to Coast and Peninne Way...lets see where the path takes us!

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales;

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Harrogate hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I am making an early New Year resolution to do more walking. I have my favourite walks but would like to add some new ones to my repertoire. I am looking for someone to enjoy these walks with me, and perhaps share some good company too. I am retired so am flexible about when we walk.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Amersham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm based in S Bucks but love the mountains and hills: Peaks, Dartmoor, Beacons, Shropshire hills, mid-Wales, N and S Downs. I can get to them all in no more than three hours, have a great day's walking, and home again - as long as I'm out of the car for more than I'm in it, that's OK.

If you'd like to meet for a walk in these or any other (not too flat) regions, and are looking for friendship and company, I'd love to hear from you.

I've recently (2017) taken to my tent again after many years, so a bike ride with tent (and maybe skis) turns into a splendid adventure. The Lakes, Snowdonia, and Scotland are the real draws though, especially in winter conditions. I've been up to the far NW and the W and Central Highlands for the last few years and love them. And the Alps of course, and Arctic Norway!

I like mountains and hills. I walk among them and try to ski (downhill and touring) them, and recently mountain bike through them to save my legs when getting to the more remote ones. Try imagining the peaks and valleys under a kilometre of ice shaping the Lakes or Highlands into the dramatic wild places they can be today!

Until recently, I worked right in the middle of London which was enjoyable and different; I live at the end of a Tube line with a usually-muddy field-and-woods walk to my local station.

But I've made the move (end 2015) to working from home, in my own time, so I'm freed from the weekends-only bids for the outdoors.

Oh, and my name is Robert.

My Message: Hi, I'm on the lookout for new walking companions that share my passion for hill walking. I try to get out into the North York Moors or Dales as frequently as possible. Weekends to Snowdonia and Cumbria are always treasured. I usually manage to walk abroad once a year (the Julian Alps in Slovenia are my absolute favourite). Would love to hook up with like minded people to share a walk or two so please get in touch. Thanks Patrick.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi there, Lover of nature and my ideal day is a scenic walk and prefer an amble rather than fast pace ramble so can take it all in. Good map readers especially welcome as I was last in the queue when senses of direction were handed out! I'm free most weekends and sometimes mid week. If anyone local, early evening walks on the long days of spring/summer!

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near North Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am passionate about the hills, wild places and like a challenge. I am an experienced hillwalker but equally enjoy social walks. I'm easy going and have a good soh. Semi-retired so can walk in the week as well as at week-ends. I usually walk with groups - or alone to practice navigation (which I am reasonable at). I have walked a lot in Scotland, North Wales and Europe but it would be nice to explore the local area more. So it would be good to meet up with like-minded walking buddies as its always better to share the experience. Having recently moved to the Yorkshire dales - there are lots of tempting hills and long distance paths!! Looking for walking companions to share walks particularly in the Lake district and/or the Yorkshire dales to do moderate/strenuous walks.
