I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bristol.

My Message: Hello, I'd like to meet another walker who lives in Bristol where I live. I already have a great walking mate in the South West that I spend time with, and meeting up with someone very close to home would be good as well. I'm only interested in walking with women. Oh, but importantly, I don't own a car, so instead can travel by train and meet you if necessary. That seems to work out fine with my other walking mate. I don't do high energy marching type of walking, and anything over eight miles, would be a long walk for me.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Keswick hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm looking for a companion(s) to go on walks in the Lake District. I know the Lake District (particularly the Northern end) well, and would enjoy sharing days out walking with another. I often find I get on better with people 1-to-1 so that would be my preference (rather than in a larger group). High fells, or lower valleys are both possibilities, although I do enjoy a good ridge walk - anyone for the High Street range?
I'm pretty fit, but don't feel so much of a need to race up loads of peaks as I used to! (And fell running has never particularly appealed to me!)
I have my daughter with me every other weekend (and half the school holidays). However, I'm self-employed and largely tend to fit my work around other things, so I am often free during weekdays, as well as roughly every other weekend.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Qualified HF Holidays Walk Leader. Though I am a qualified HF Walk Leader I do not do any walk leading for them at present.

I am also interested in:

  • Road Cycling

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Leicester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello is anyone free to join myself and my dog Cocoa, for day hikes during the week as I work the weekends? Although this may well change in the near future to becoming a weekend warrior. I have travelled to hike fairly extensively all over the UK national parks and to mention a few places; have visited Snowdonia, Isle of Skye; Peak District; Cotswolds and parts of Hadrian's Wall. Favourite places are definitely the Lakes and Cairngorms. I would say I am of average fitness and tend to walk fairly slowly but do like to be out all day so roughly aim for about 10 miles a day regardless of terrain. I like to bag 2/3 summits at a time if possible. Definitely want to see what Torridon is like but it's a long way to drive on my own and I hope to visit the Alps and Pyrenees as well as the rest of the world to hike or cycle in the future. i love the adventures with my pup but it would be great to find some company who I can actually hold a conversation with!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brighton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: White male aged 66, 40 years walking experience, living in Sussex, fit and friendly seeks to meet an adventurous male or woman walking companion aged about 40+ for walking local and national trails together in the UK and in Europe. Any individual willing to explore the hidden and interesting bye ways of Britain, if warm sleep out during the summer and enjoy a few beers at the end of a days challenging walking, before England and Wales become so sanitized it will look like a theme park( see George Monbiot).

Probably suitable for someone living in London or the South-East but, but if practicable, I would not exclude other contacts from around the country. Most important is the love of the countryside, coastal paths and Highlands of Scotland, quiet places and friendly conversation.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lichfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: 50 year old single, professional female looking for male/female friends to walk with. Not keen on walking in groups - prefer the company of just one or two others. Things just get straggly in groups don't they? I have dogs and am happy to walk with or without them. I also have a 15 year old human and am happy to walk with/without teen humans (mine is often reluctant but might be tempted if we find a like-minded companion). I have had quite a long spell of not walking following both an Achilles then back injury sustained in unrelated unfortunate events, so I'm pleased to be back in my boots! Have car and happy to lift-share or not. Saturdays are often marginally better for me than Sundays but that's not set in stone, or shorter after work walks in lighter evenings. Other interests include travel, cooking, good wine, reading, music (live and local, often folky or indie by preference), cinema. One day I'd like to begin having a go at a long distance walk or two, so if I find a companion who'd be up for that too it would be great - but not a dealbreaker if you only fancy one-day walks.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chester Le Street hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Due to the loss of my long term walking partner I am looking for a like minded person or persons to walk with. I am available any day and have quite a lot of experience in Durham Northumberland and North Yorkshire. I am pretty good at navigating and have a list of walks most of which I have done some I have not. These are usually in the 7-10 mile range with different grades. I like to think I am easy going with a good sense of humour. Not averse to a pint at the end but not essential. I have my own transport. Look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Templecombe hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm a 51 year old female living in Henstridge Somerset and working nearby. I really enjoy walking and the great outdoors and although very happy with my own company it would be great to walk with others sometimes anything up to 20 miles. Although I'm single I'm not looking for anything more than walking companions. I'm pretty ok with map reading and although I own a compass I'm useless with it but would love to learn. Pub visits/lunches etc are always a plus - that's when my pace really quickens! I'm happy to drive anywhere and I'm free most weekends and during the lighter months evenings too. Lisa

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Wallasey hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm Dave a 65 year old male looking for a female walking companion. I live on the Wirral and generally walk in Wales, the Northern fells (Yorkshire & Cumbria) and Scotland. I completed the Munros a quite few years ago and am gradually working my way through other hill lists. I head up to Scotland regularly and have a cottage near Torridon.

Happy to do some low level walks, but prefer to gain some height for the views and exercise. Fairly fit and prefer to keep a steady pace, stopping to look at the scenery and wildlife, but can crack on when needed. Enjoy driving and so distance isn't a problem.

Generally walk at weekends, but can walk mid-week as I am retired, though I do have a few other interests such as D-I-Y and cooking which use some time...

Good sense of direction and can navigate reliably in difficult conditions. Easy going with a sense of humour and enjoy conversation. Like to visit a pub afterwards for a drink.

If you are interesting in joining me then please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Fareham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in Hampshire and would like to meet female walking partners to share walks both locally and other parts of the UK. My favorite walking areas are the south west, Lake District and the Cotswolds.

I work full time, so good walks are limited to weekends and holidays.

As well as walking the dog, I cycle to work and play squash, so I'm reasonably fit. I also enjoy music and reading.

I did the Peninine Way many years ago and the Coast to Coast a couple of years ago. I would like to do the West Highland Way in the next few yearsb but in the meantime I'm heading to Dartmoor and the Lake District for some nice day walking.

I haven't done much walking abroad, but I love walking anywhere with lovely countryside.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 30s, based near Staffordshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I am looking at meeting up with people who are keen to go walking. I don't drive and as such, that mostly limits me to the Peak District and the Lake District (and spending a couple of days (overnight in a hostel) is even better due to time constraints of public transport), but otherwise i can go anywhere. I consider myself reasonably fit and have some ability to read a map but it is not perfect! I get to where i want to go. I like challenging and adventurous walking, however it's not important to me that anyone else does; the company is important! I'm not super-experienced in hill-walking either; but i have done some.
Apart from that i am also looking to walk the Pennine Way (in it's entirety), maybe there is someone else interested in that too?

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Heidelberg, Germany hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
My name is Barbara. I'm German and live in Germany. As a translator with English as my working language and an obligation to regularly brush up my English, I am looking for good company on a hiking holiday along the Cornwall coast during which I can enjoy 'serious' exposure to the English language. I am fairly fit but would consider about 10 miles to be a good and not too exhausting distance for a day's hike. As for the time of year, I am planning my holiday around late July, early August. The current idea is to spend about one week walking and then go on visiting friends in UK, but I am flexible on the number of days spent hiking. I am also flexible on the specific stretch of the Cornwall coastline.
About me: I'm in my early fifties and (obviously) like walking. I also run (moderately), practice yoga (passionately), love dogs (had a Labrador myself), have an interest and experience in music (used to sing and play the sax and regularly go to classical concerts including opera and Rock 'n Roll cover bands), I am interested in politics (of course also US/UK politics), history, fine arts, languages, have done somewhat travelling and go for good food and drinks and equally good conversations.

Really looking forward to get a response from out there.

My Message: Hi, I enjoy walking in Staffordshire and Shropshire, evenings and weekends.
I prefer gentle strolls of between two and ten miles. Not too keen on the more route march style of walking.
I'm a keen photographer and like to stop occasionally to take photos of the views (only for a minute or so, not an hour setting up kit :-) )
I enjoy canal walks and I don't mind the rain as long as it's not torrential :-)

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Woodford Green hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am Matt and I live on the outskirts of London on the edge of Essex. I am looking for a walking buddy of any age (preferably female as I enjoy female company- on a platonic basis) as my previous walking partner has moved overseas and I am keen to try and start walking more regularly again.

My friends are either tied up with family or not walkers and while I sometimes enjoy walking alone I also enjoy conversation as well as a good laugh.

I am used to walking coastal walks or rural walks in the home counties and have walked in Buckinghamshire, Essex, Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire but don't have much experience of hills/peaks although am keen to try. I am comfortable walking 12-15 miles and have walked 20 miles on a couple of occasions albeit on flat terrain.

I have an average level of fitness which I want to improve. I am keen to walk in the South East/home counties but could also venture further afield to East Anglia, South West or Midlands (anywhere within 2-3 hrs drive really) as I have a car and enjoy driving. I would be keen to maybe try some longer paths/routes like SWCP or similar but above all else want to have fun and be outdoors with like-minded people.

I work full time in the week so weekends are best although I could take the odd day off from time to time. My other interests include yoga, swimming, reading, art, music and cinema.

If anyone is keen to plan a day out soon then please contact me :)

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Southampton hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Sally, single, retired, with time and energy to walk. Keen to meet a single, fit, friendly guy to help map read, who likes to stop and admire the view. I've trekked the Tramuntana mountains in Mallorca, part of the SWCP in Cornwall, Isle of Skye and The North Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Closer to home - The New Forest,The Monach's Way, South Downs, Clarendon Way (25 miles in one hit) Usually 10 miles a day is fine by me! Join local walking groups but prefer to walk with a friend.
Free to walk anywhere here or abroad in an area with some interest or beauty, with a pub or cafe at the end. Pretty adventurous, don't do bleak or freezing tho'! Would like to be introduced to some new areas. Interested in completing SWCP in doable chunks.
Other interests include: cycling, sailing, coastal walks are great, love being by the sea, music, live gigs, anything arty, local exhibitions or performances on route.
If this type of relaxed walking companion appeals, please get in touch.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
South East England; South West England;

If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Sailing, Art, Live Music ,cycling

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Leyburn.

My Message: Hi
My name is Alex and I have rejoined the site to meet new friends/fellow walkers. I've been a bit idle with regards to 'boots on walking' so need time to pick up the pace a bit! Having said that i'm quite fit, not without humour and don't mind travelling (within reason) to meet up. Packed lunch or pub lunch suits me. My map reading skills are a bit hit and miss but I don't mind being guided. I know there are some lovely people on this site because I met up with 'A' over 5yrs ago and we are still friends so here's to more...

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Bridlington hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Based in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, I'm Looking for a female walking companion for leisurely walks locally (Brid/Scarborough) and also the Dales and Cumbria. An interest photography and acoustic guitar would be great.

I love badminton also and it's another great way to stay fit but of course I need a partner.

I'm 70, slim, 5' 6" and reasonably fit but I'm not the fastest on ascents. I've managed Blencathra, Langdale Pikes, Skiddaw, Scafell Pike and others. I'm a bit reserved until I get to know people - but I like a good laugh etc. Interests include singing, acoustic guitar, Badminton, photography and walking.

Give me a call if interested, thanks.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art and the theatre. I'm vegetarian ( you don't have to be) and a good cook though do enjoy dining out too. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

Chris

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Darlington hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I am a woman in her late 50s who loves walking but has been unable to for quite a while due to a knee condition. I recently completed my first 6 mile walk so I am really keen to keep up the good work and increase my stamina/distance. I like to enjoy the view and good conversation is a must. My other passions are literature, theatre, art, museums and good food and wine! As I don't drive meet ups would have to be accessible by public transport or we could share petrol costs? Looking forward to getting back out there with good company and a few pitstops afterwards.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Keswick hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a 59 year old single male living in the Lake District. I enjoy being outdoors walking, running, cycling and camping.

I am fit and competent and enjoy a challenging walk or an easy walk and I like to take in the views whichever - I don't want to be too serious about it! I am open to any level of walk as it's sometimes good to just get out and it's always good to find a good pub or cafe at the end. It's the simple things in life that appeal to me most. I like to see the beauty in natural surroundings, love woods especially in autumn, watching and listening to birds, sun rise and sun set, starry skies, wood smoke, the scent of gorse flower in the summer.

I am looking to meet a woman who enjoys being outdoors amongst other things. Your location isn't too important - I am prepared to travel to meet for a walk as I enjoy walking in many areas. I'm not into exchanging emails for too long but prefer to talk, then maybe meet, see what happens and just take it from there.

My boring details are I'm single with no children or any other ties. I'm 5'8" and slim build.

Hope to hear from you!
