I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Peterborough hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, hoping to find walking friends to go on walks in the countryside. I have been walking for approx 15 years and really enjoy it as a way of keeping fit and healthy. Would love to walk the lake district and anywhere that does not need much map reading. Sorry am hopeless at that, hence need someone good at directions! Happy to drive and meet up.

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Walk Leader for my Local Ramblers Group(s).

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near High Peak hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've been walking mostly in the Peak District, where I live, and the Lake District recently. I've been ticking off Wainwrights and have only 8 to go and I've started on the Birketts. I'm a widower and retired so can walk midweek and have mostly been walking alone for a number of years. I'm very fit for my age and like longer mountain walks. I've also walked in France, Spain, Germany, Italy Greece and Turkey. I've even done a bit of sport climbing in the last few years - rock climbing was a passion many years ago. I've also rediscovered an interest in photography and have been a yoga practitioner for more than 30 years. I don't like walking in large groups unless it's just a social occasion (like a friends 80th birthday recently).

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking
  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Darlington hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for fellow walkers to share the joys of the great outdoors with followed by a well earned beer or meal! I am fairly fit and for me I like being out being out there in the countryside listening to the birds. seeing the wild flowers, enjoying the views as much as bagging peaks - although this is always an added bonus. I am as happy in the lowlands, in the woods, by the sea as I am navigating my way across highlands and moorland. I am a reasonable navigator and I enjoy exploring off the beaten track. If any of this sounds appealing and you are willing to join me being out there in the wild enjoying the splendour of our countryside. I have my own transport and can walk occasionally mid week or at the weekend to suit.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Wigan hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Julie, I am single, 61yrs old, a secretary in a school (so lots of lovely holidays) and enjoy walking. My friends unfortunately aren't really keen on walking and I would like to find either a female or male or small group of friends/like minded people to go out for the day or weekend exploring the countryside, preferably at weekends and build up my stamina. Would like to think I am good company, good fun, easy going, enjoy a good laugh and a lively debate. I do have a small dog, so must like dogs. Would really enjoy some good company and to the end the day in a nice pub with good food and a well earned glass of wine. ps I haven't done much walking for a while, so a little unfit.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Preston hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
I'm Catherine, 42 from Preston. I have done quite a lot of walking, mainly in the Lakes and North Wales but other areas too.I would like to do more in Scotland. I have also done some treks abroad. I have previously walked a lot with my parents but they are getting past the long and high stuff now. Also I met a great walking partner on here about 10 years ago but she has moved abroad for work! I'm now struggling to get out walking as I don't want to go by myself. I love anything outdoors, pretty much any weather. I love camping and a good pint after a walk. I'm looking for people in 30's/40's who would like to go on day walks to begin with to see how we get on. Anyway, drop me a line if you'd like to make contact and get out walking. Thanks

My Message: Hello ladies and gents. I am hoping to meet new friends, male or female, to accompany me on walks, long or short, in the wonderful British countryside. I enjoy walking locally, in the Peak District, but also love the Lakes, Dales and parts of Scotland and Wales. My favourite walks will usually involve a stop or two at a cafe or pub for rest and refreshments. I have completed many long distance walks and also run and cycle regularly. I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bath hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking and want people to go walking and to socialise with. If we can get a good weather day and a view, all the better. I'd be happy to meet up with men or women for a day's walk, anytime soon. Also happy to join a group walk. At least it's something we can still do at this time.
I've walked the whole of the SWCP, circuit of the Isle of Wight, the South Downs Way and the Cotswold Way. I love walking in the Lake District and would love to do the Coast to Coast. Am also trying to the Wessex Ridgeway in single day trips from home. But I also love a blow on the Marlborough Downs or just an amble along the canal. Tea or a pub meal at the end is a bonus.
I'm retired and don't have any regular commitments except Wednesday evenings at the moment. I play tennis but don't want to appear super fit, just normal for a walker in her 60's! Am happy to travel to meet up with someone and hope it might be you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cambridgeshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live in Cambridgeshire and have a deep love for walking and hiking. The last long distance l did was Glen Affic in Scotland. However, l like short walks as much as long hikes and to enjoy my walk, stopping to take in the scenery and enjoying a good chat or just appreciating the silence together.
My schedule is quite free so l can do a mixture of week days and weekends. I also drive, so travelling is no problem.
By nature l am a bubbly, outgoing person with an introvert side. Looking to make some new female walking buddies. I look forward to hearing from you.

My Message: Hi, I love the outdoors and recently bought all the kit and caboodle to go wild camping but fear crept in and decided not to go alone just yet.. I'll give most things a go and love trying new things. I'd love to find someone to hike and maybe wild camp. I'd not say no to exploring more urban locations too. I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Yarm hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Colin, living near Yarm in Teesside. I have always loved walking and the outdoors and am lucky to have so many national parks close and in easy reach.
Now retired, I'm able to pop out to the NY Moors daytime/evenings, weekdays and weekends.
I enjoy extending my walks to the Dales, Lakes and Northumberland, staying in country pubs/hotels.
I've always found walking very therapeutic and need someone to share the outdoors with. Ideally I'd love a like-minded female companion.
I enjoy lively conversation, a good laugh and a nice meal with a glass of wine. I don't smoke, keep myself in decent shape and even go jogging. I love pets and miss my parson russell. Friends call me easy going and good company.
Would be delighted to hear from you.
Bye for now
Colin

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Lake District hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello!

Currently I'm on a mission to bag all of the Wainwrights. Did a lot of hiking in Europe and participating in races like the Harz Mountains 100km race when I was younger, and a lot fitter! I suppose I'm trying to make up for lost time as there was a time when walking to the pub was a challenge. No longer drink (but will have a 0% beer at the end of a long walk!), Vegan for 10 years. Mainly been doing low level walks in the peak district over the last few years along with Mam Tor, Edale, Kinder Scout etc but now concentrating on Wainwrights. I'm quite happy walking on my own most of the time but it would be good to walk in a group, or with other hikers who had a similar outlook on life. My ultimate aim is to be fitter at 60 than I was at 30!! So if you fancy joining me say hello :)

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Corby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Just rediscovering my love of walking.
As a single man with a campervan (that doesn't sound in the slightest bit dodgy does it) I love the tranquility of being out in the countryside or on the coast with my muppet dog but I'm getting bored with my own company and would like to find local people to enjoy the outdoors with.
As lockdown comes to an end im looking forward to getting back out hopefully in the sunshine but think I am going to have to work on my fitness.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

My Message: I am a very young at heart 64 yr old living in Redditch, Worcestershire and i have Joined this site hoping to find walking/hiking friends to share and experience new adventures with a few laughs along the way. I have always been a keen walker/ hiker but the past few years it has been more simpler walks. I have done Snowdon and Scafell pike and would like to climb Ben Nevis and do a couple of long distance paths, maybe Offa's Dyke and the Pennine Way. I love exploring off the beaten track, looking into old forgotten places from a time gone by.
I have many hobbies and interests including travel, music, photography

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Leicester hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Completely new to the board, but hey everyone has to start somewhere! Love walking/hiking obviously, but would love to think that I could share this with someone. I'm a loyal caring and down to earth guy who loves the Yorkshire Dales, Lakes and Peak District. Hoping you like these as well. Reasonably fit and regularly doing 6-8 miles walks each week, but interested in longer hikes. Happy to travel if you are a little further afield. Teach at a local uni (but not a serious academic at all - I teach surveying!). Enjoy my photography, although I do less now.
Anyway, hoping that someone on here might be interested in catching up, so please drop me a message if you'd like to.
Many Thanks
Jim

I am a Female Walker, in my early 30s, based near Selby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hey, I'm very much a novice walker but thoroughly enjoy it! My current fitness levels allow me to stroll for about 5 miles although I'm hoping that I can improve this with lots of walks with a great companion:) I do have muscular dystrophy which means I may find it quite painful at times but having somebody next to me would distract me. I have a great sense of humour and I love bird watching so I'll be dragging my binoculars with me. I work during the week but free at weekends and also depending on how close we are, would love to walk early in the morning or late evenings on weekdays. I have my own car so willing to travel. Also partial to pub grub when the pubs are open! Don't be shy and say hi!

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Widnes hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello I have been walking mostly in the north west and Wales.
I enjoy being up and out early especially on a Sunday morning and in pretty much any weather conditions.
Before lockdown I completed the 1st section of the trans pennine trail from southport to hadfield in 4 days, I'm hoping to complete the hadfield to hornsea section when things return to some normality. In the meantime I am doing regular 15 to 20 mile walks around my own area mostly on off road pathways so I'm looking to get to know anyone who would be interested in joining me.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Bingley hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi all,
My name is Bry, looking primarily for walking partner(s) in the Yorkshire area but am also mobile and with a keen desire to explore new areas once the current regulations permit this.
I am physically in reasonable shape, ex military (Royal Navy) and currently work at sea in the commercial Geoscience sector, so geophysical / geotechnical seabed surveys for the oil and gas, wind and cable industries. This means I am away for a few weeks at a time, but when not at sea have complete freedom. I am currently single with no ties, and try and spend as much time as possible in the hills. Currently restricted to the moors around Ilkley due to national constraints, but love driving to the Dales for longer walks. I consider myself of above average fitness for my age, but always room for improvement. Would not be adverse to overnight trips or expeditions, have a love of exploration that won't seem to go away. I am fortunate to be well travelled, have done hikes in Antarctica, Falklands and South America amongst others but don't let that put you off.
Laid back, articulate and confident. Will walk with anyone of any ability for companionship, would not rule out anything more if there was any chemistry but not looking for that to be a defining reason for being on here.
Sky is the limit, so please get in touch if you want to know more, chat or maybe arrange a meet. I consider myself socially responsible, so will need to be within current guidelines for meeting until things change. Current situation wont last forever!
