I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Didcot.

My Message: Hi there, I'm a 44 year old male living in Oxfordshire, who loves to spend occasional days/weekends walking the South West Coast Path and Pembrokeshire Coast Path. I'm also partial to walks in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, and would love to get to know mid-Wales better. I'm also keen to explore Exmoor and Dartmoor. I spent my younger years bagging the Munros, and still love the occasional visit north of the Border, as well as walking in the Swiss Alps a couple of times a year. Am looking for a female who has a similar interest in these areas and would like to join me on trips. I have my own transport and would be happy to provide lifts as necessary. Mark

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bristol.

My Message: Hello
I live in north of Bristol and go walking with friends in the areas I've ticked, but would like to meet some new people to enjoy walking with at weekends. Anything from 6 to 12 miles is good for me. I like footpaths rather than lanes and anywhere that has amazing views and archaeology to explore.
I can drive or happy to take public transport to get to a circular walk route.
Think I'm OK company, happy to chat along the way with other walkers. Most of all love the here and now of being out there (a pint along the way goes down well too!)
Helen

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near Bristol.

My Message: Hi my name's Jenny. Walked with my husband until he died since when it's become a large part of my life but I find now I'm more ambitious than some of my friends and I'm left feeling unsatisfied. It would be good to walk with someone, male or female, who was able to travel to new areas in order to appreciate more of Britain's wonderful countryside. A comfortable distance for me would be between 10 and 12 miles and I particularly enjoy long distant paths, having completed the Cotswold Way, the Coast 2 Coast, West Highland Way and Dales Way to name a few. I'll walk in any weather, can read a map and enjoy arriving to a good meal and glass of red.
I'm keen to do more walks in Northumberland and the south east of England.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Malvern.

My Message: As I've been on this great site for 3 years I thought an update was in order. I now spend December, January and February in Ribeira Brava, Madeira and the remaining 9 months here in Malvern; both splendid walking centres. Nevertheless, while in England I like to get away and over the last few years have walked the SWCP from Exmouth to Poole in dribs and drabs. Thinking of a new project this year, I saw on this site that Wales is split into fourteen mountainous regions. How about climbing the highest in each region? In a relaxed way, you understand, going away for a few days at a time. Investigation showed that I'd done many of them before so I decided on the third highest of each instead. Anyone fancy joining me? Oh, I'm planning to walk the Fisherman's Trail, along the Atlantic Coast in Portugal, probably in October, as well.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Camberley.

My Message: Hi, I am new to this website in March 2016. I am writing this message from Tromso in arctic Norway! Here with my wife, but she doesn't walk, so feeling sad that I don't have walking partners here. We have been visiting my daughter who runs a dog sledding company in arctic Sweden, where I have been saying I would like to walk on the Kungsledden ( Kings Way) one summer. So lots of potential trips to Norway/ Sweden/Finland. I have been an experienced hill walker and expeditioner e. g. Alps, Pyrenees, High Atlas plus all the UK wild areas. Now I am returning to my walking roots and would like to join with someone who loves good walking adventures!
Anything considered. I mean anything!! I am slowly getting walking fit and would welcome turning strangers into walking friends. Very happy with shorter routes especially if lots of height gained.
I have a Mountain Leadership Certificate from the 1970's, so a little rusty and worn!
My main interests are: East Africa, where I am a trustee of African Revival, an education and community NGO; school governing; and coaching and mentoring. What are yours?
Love to hear from you.
David Leeper

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loughborough.

My Message: I'm looking for friends who enjoys walking and the great outdoors to join me on my adventures.

I walk between 6 and 10 miles most weekends, with shorter walks during the week.

I live in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, which has some beautiful countryside. I also enjoy walking in Wales and the Peak District, the Lakes District, Cornwall and Scotland. I also enjoy camping, bodyboarding, kayaking and other outdoor activities. I work full time during the week, but I'm willing to travel reasonable distance for weekend walks (North Wales, Peak District, etc), and further for weekends away/holidays/etc. I like to travel, so walking holidays abroad are also a possibility.

If you're interested in meeting up then please get in touch. Nick.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Grantham.

My Message: My name is Mike and I have recently moved to the Grantham area. I enjoy walking and cycling but have no established circle of friends locally to add to the enjoyment and help with motivation. I am fairly fit and have done two 26 mile challenge walks in the past year, but very little else. A little more variety in distance would be very welcome, just doing the occasional long distance is pushing it a bit! I am semi-retired and am available on some weekdays. I have transport and distance is not a problem. I can map read pretty well. I look forward to hearing from anyone who, like me, would like to go walking more often than they do at the moment.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Bristol.

My Message: I'm looking to improve my fitness and meet new people. I work outdoors and love to walk in all weathers over all terrain, usually with a borrowed dog, ideally stopping for refreshment in a lovely old pub or national trust tea shop. I'm not hardcore! More of a cart horse than a racehorse, steady, good endurance but not going to win any races! I love to walk the southwest coastal paths and spend as much time as I can in the summer months heading down the M5 in my camper van. I'm well travelled and always up for adventure. My favourite ever walk was in the Himalayas, trekking up to Annapurna base camp, I would love to return to Nepal for another trekking holiday in the not to distant future. Living in Bristol I'm ideally placed for walks in the Brecon Beacons, Mendips, Cotswolds, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Jurassic coast, I also love the fact I can walk from my front door into countryside in 25mins. I love city living as I'm a culture vulture, I love the arts and often go to the theartre, exhibitions, comedy and gigs and a least one festival over the summer. My inner country girl is happy on my vegetable plot, returning home to cook the fresh organic produce. I'm easy going with a big hearty laugh and a huge appetite for fun... and cake!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near London.

My Message: Hi I am 56 and live in London. I am looking for occasional walking companions mainly during the week (so suit self-employed and the like) to do 10 (ish) mile walks within easy reach of London. I would also be interested in further afield walks if they were over 2/3 days. I'm happy to wild camp but can also do B&B's. I am fairly fit (did the Coast to Coast a couple of years ago with my then 21 year old son) and play tennis regularly but am not looking for a route march. I don't mind arduous but it's more about communing with nature than any competitive streak. If interested please get in touch. Mark

I'm a semi retired fire officer 55 years of age with a genuine passion for the outdoors, all weathers and the life that goes with it. That includes good food and beer or wine at the many great hostelries that this country and others can offer. I love to laugh most of all and get pleasure from making others do the same. I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Devon.

My Message: Having recently lost my regular walking buddy to a new romance I am looking for a companion who is keen to share ' Days to remember'! I am lucky to have lots of friends locally who enjoy sharing the great outdoors but I am keen to find a special someone who will perhaps have time to walk more of the world with me. I do have some basic navigational skills which I am keen to develop alongside a trusted companion who would be happy to face those unexpected times of adversity together and find rays of sunshine in wet mountain days!
I generally love to be active and outdoors and am always curious to see what's around the corner. I am as happy walking to the end of the road on a moonlit night as I am to share a wet dog by an open fire or a view from a bivey bag bed on a mountain top!
I live near the Dartmoor national park but have walked in the Pyrenees, Scotland, Wales and the Lakes and would be happy sharing adventures around the UK and Europe although I might be persuaded to go further afield.

My Message: Hi am a married mother of 5 who's looking for a weekday walking companion. I am also interested in the occasional weekend walking in the mountainous areas of England and Wales. I can navigate and enjoy wild camping and night hiking in Sussex. I have done the Tour de Trigs, Fan Dance (Summer and Winter) plus the 10 Peaks Challenge in both Brecon and Lake District. I am by no means super fit and skinny but I enjoy the challenge and ideally would like to meet like minded women who want to have a go at the impossible but do it in the spirt of I'll give it my best but its more important to have a laugh and a good time.

My Message: Hi Iím Nigel a keen dog walker, by that I mean where I go so does the dog (border collie), Snowdon, kinder, Nevis, or even Sutton park (locals will know where that is), and if itís not safe for the dog I donít go so the Glyders are out. I work shifts so most of my walking is done locally but try to a decent hike once a month, I.e. the peak district, Staffordshire moorlands, or wales when the days are longer. Holidays tend to be in the UK but the hillier the better. I'm looking for company to share the views and conversation (I love my dog but his conversation is a bit limited) and a maybe a pint of two at the end of the day.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Nottingham.

My Message: Hi, I'm Mark... I'm looking for walking buddies in the East Midlands area. I work full time, shifts for the emergency services so my days off vary. Most of my friends work during the week so if i'm on rest days then i'm often walking on my own... don't mind this but it would be good to find others to hook up with for a walk, pint, chin wag..... (also free some weekends) I'm very easy going, got loads of interests and a very broad humour. I walk fairly often in the peaks and have also walked in the lakes, North Yorks and Scotland. I usually follow the guides on this site although can just about read a map! I'm fairly fit and usually choose walks 12-15k, don't mind a tough walk or a nice chilled one... Hope to hear from you.
