I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Exeter hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm coming up to Semi retirement and looking for a hiking "buddy" to have some fun and adventures with. Not my wifes cup of tea and although I have done plenty of solo hikes I now prefer some company.Dartmoor is my local playground and I often do day and multi day hikes there. Am looking to complete some LDP's in U.K. and further afield. Love to backpack and camp and carry all my gear.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 4:5:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North West England; Wales; The Heart of England; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Shrewsbury hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm hoping to meet a female companion to travel the world for two years plus, taking in national trails. My plan is to start Spring 2021 in the UK on the South West Coast Path, then where ever we choose, COVID permitting, hopefully moving to Europe at a later date. I've been walking in the Lake District, Scotland, Snowdonia and a section of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
I'm walking some evenings(short), weekdays(medium) and weekends(longer). I am working 2-3 days a week at the moment. My interests are local history, Nature and Photography. As well as Europe I'd like to take in The Pacific Crest Trail in the USA and The Bibbulmun Trail in Australia. All this on a tight budget which I believe is achievable with the use of Workaway and Trusted house sitters.

My Preferred Walk Areas:

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Hereford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live on Herefordshire and enjoy the outdoors. Walking gives me a sense of freedom and takes me away from all the noisy stimulus and brashness of every day life. Being in nature feeds my soul. I've done short and long distance (Camino de Santiago) walks and want to do many more. Happy to walk in most weather's providing I have the right hear. Map reading skills are averages and I work on the principle that getting lost is just a chance to re-orientate myself.
I'm happy to walk alone and quite adventurous in that regard. However, some times it would be nice to share the view and adventures with someone else and walk places I haven't been.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Gwynedd hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi all, I'm Mark. I live in Snowdonia National Park. I have self catering holiday accommodation here so get in touch if you're looking for somewhere to stay. Having lived here for 10 years now I'm ashamed to say that there are so many local places I haven't had time to explore (long story!) so ideally looking for guys who would be happy to go for walks in this and other areas with me. I am a gentle soul, intelligent, thoughtful and really interested in people so do get in touch if you are up for sharing your map reading skills with a willing companion. I love history, archaeology, nature and my Welsh is improving, too. I garden for a living and love being outdoors.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Beaconsfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for new friends to explore the UK with, as I've exhausted(literally !!) my current friends, many of whom prefer short walks. During this corona lockdown I've averaged 30 miles a week - better than baking any day. My job is cabin crew, often I have 3 days off during the week with the occasional weekend. I especially love coastal walks, but am good with any terrain, just happy to be walking. I'd like to do more multi day hikes, no problem camping or staying in BnBs. I've carried a big back pack but also had it transported. I've hiked the Anna Purna Circuit and part of he Camino de Santiago, always looking for new adventures.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Plymouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker living in the South West, whilst I am comfortable walking alone, it get's boring and would love to have someone to share the experience with. Mainly I walk in the South West area, but love the mountains when I can get away. I also regularly go on Trekking holidays abroad and have done three treks in Nepal over the last 5 years (Everest Base Camp, Annapurna, and Kanchenjunga base camp). However, I am more than happy with a gentle stroll across Dartmoor as well. I am recently retired and looking forward to ticking off some 'bucketlist' walks. England Coast to Coast, South West Coast Path to name a couple in the UK, but also would love to do the Camino De Santiago. When not out walking I am a keen theatre goer and also an amateur actor. Also have a love of music.
I'm flexible when and where I can walk and have a bit of an adventurous streak so am generally up for a bit of a challenge. What I'm missing is having people to share walking with. I know there are people out there, just haven't found them yet!

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Devizes hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

I have been walking for several years and would spend every day of the week doing so - if only time would allow.

Although semi-retired I still do some work which allows me free time in the week as well as some weekends.
I have walked much of beautiful Wiltshire and would love to find a walking buddy or buddies now that my best buddy has knee injuries and unable to do the miles we used to do.

I am not a hardened hiker, but love a day of 10 to 12 miles maybe with an end of the day trip to a good pub for some food and glass of wine.
I consider myself a good laugh and easy company. I no longer have my dog who was the best walking buddy but love any dog who likes to join the outing.

I'm not brilliant at maps and have been known to miss the odd path on occasions, but have always found my way home! I can battle a good rainstorm too!

One day, I would love to walk the Scottish Coast, and also,The Lake District looks fantastic with maybe a B&B stay making a good end to each day, but of course it's so much better to share the views.
I have a camper van too which can be a bonus.

I am happy to travel if it means a good days walking is on the end of it.

I really look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello! My name is Umesh and I am keen to find someone to explore hiking trails with over, in particular, over the next few months given we can't travel overseas.

I'm a keen hiker and amateur mountaineer (last year I climbed Mont Blanc and Kili) but really just enjoy getting out into nature and it doesn't have to be too strenuous. When we are allowed, I'd ideally like to do a bit more exploring in the Lakes and perhaps further afield in Scotland and Wales.

I'm not working at the moment so have plenty of time on my hands although that could change. I'm currently studying for my WSET level 3 wine course so am a bit tied up with that over the next few weeks but looking for some adventures in July!

I am a Female Walker, in my early 20s, based near Bury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello,
I am interested in meeting male or female friends to go walking with, especially now the warmer weather is approaching (provided that this lockdown eventually ends). I am based in Lancashire however I can drive and have a car so I am willing to go further afield. I am a bit out of practise with walking very long distances as my friends are not the hiking-types so I've struggled to find people to go with me in the past. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Near Lands End hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Retired male just looking for some good easy going female company, for hikes along the South West Coast Path, and in other parts of the UK. I'm retired so travelling is not a problem. I would like to walk in Scotland, The Lakes, Wales and possibly Ireland at some point.
Obviously at the moment, the country is in virtual lockdown, due to the Corona Virus, as I write this 20/3/20 So I'm doing my best to follow the governments advice.
So for the time being it's going to be hikes away from the crowds on my own, and should I meet another hiker en-route then I'll resort to vaulting over the nearest hedge, to avoid contact ;)

So I'll carry on as the lone hiker, for the time being.

Good luck to all the hikers and walkers here, and to any NHS workers on this forum, God Bless you all.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a happy and fun loving 53 year old woman who enjoys walking and riding a tandem. I am a good listener and enjoy both chatty walks and peaceful times in the countryside.
Unusually I am a visually impaired walker who needs to be guided but not supported to walk confidently, so I am looking for kind men and women who are happy for me to gently hold their arm.
Wwalking companions who are not too far away would be ideal, although I am happy to travel by train to meet for walks.
I have regularly been walking 6-10 miles at the weekend until two months ago. I go to the gym four times a week and swim to keep fit. I used to enjoy looking at wild flowers and birds when walking but this is more limited now. A good pub at the end of a walk is always welcome!

I hope to meet a companion for regular walks and possibly walking holidays in the future, in the UK and abroad. I work so I am only free to walk on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and when on holidays from work.

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I don't drive.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Road Cycling

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Weymouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Leo. I'm single and retired with no commitments, so free to walk anytime.

I was brought up in Dorset, and walking the hills and coast path is something I've enjoyed since childhood. I don't consider myself a dedicated walker, so I am very happy to combine walking with some exploration, sight seeing and of course, lunch or coffee.

I would like to meet similar minded men or women who like the outdoors and nature but perhaps would also like to share other interests. Mine include the sea, travel, art, theatre, tennis(beginner) and raquetball. I'm fairly easy going and enjoy new places and experiences.

Finding new friends local to me would be great for regular walks, but I also like to go on walking holidays in the UK or abroad.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
Wales; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Oakham, Rutland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone, I would love to meet up with other people to walk - virtually anywhere. I particularly love hill-walking (Scotland, Lakes and Snowdonia my favourite) and have bagged some 3000fters, but am keen to walk anywhere. Friends and family are just not hikers. Even my dog is ageing so much that a short walk around the park will satisfy him (he stays at home/in the car when I walk).

I love camping, hiking in beautiful scenery, and would love some company. I have a car and am happy to travel, although of course if you are closer to me meeting up for a day hike will be easier. With a busy work schedule, I am generally a weekend walker but will take time off when I get a walking opportunity that is too good to miss.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Elstead, Surrey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi my names Luke and I'm looking to make some new friends like-minded walking companions. My previous walking buddy recently moved to New Zealand so looking for someone to fill his boots.

I'm fairly new to hiking but have done a few wild camping excursions in the Scottish Highlands, Wales and Snowdonia..I've bagged a few munros including Sgurr Alasdair-Isle of Skye, Nevis, Buachaille Etive Mòr also done Snowdon and some other Welsh peaks. I am now keen to do Scafell pike!

I work as a head gardener so the love the great outdoors come rain or shine. I would mostly be looking at weekend hikes or daytrips to the lakes,Wales or Scotland. I have a basic campervan which makes things easier. I have an Alaskan malamute who sometimes accompanies me if possible.

Someone fairly close to my area would be good as I'm also keen for local walks at other times. Please get in touch if you think we'd get along and would like to plan some adventures.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Reading hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am retired and do love walking. My wife is not so keen as I am,so I am looking for a walking companion,either male or female. I tend to go locally but can go further afield.I am reasonably fit for my age and I do like to stop and admire the scenery or take some photos. I am interested in swimming.Also cycling...but this tends to be locally following the Thames path and away from traffic. I also like wild swimming normally in the Thames but it could be anywhere. I love visiting Spain and speak tolerable Spanish. I have a few grandchildren which is great.I tried camping in Wales with an outdoor group I belong to and loved it.I know most of the walks within 45 minutes drive from here,so it would be nice to try new areas

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Wirral hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm an adventurous hiker, walking long distances but also chill out shorter strolls in North Wales, Peak District and Lake District. I'm wishing to meet a female walker friend maybe more who enjoys long walks and which we can enjoy the beautiful countryside and mountains of Britain. I'm currently after Marilyn's in the UK, walking usually on weekends but have a week in the Lake District coming up in late September. If you would like a week of walking please contact me.

I'm active away from walking being a keen cyclist, I enjoy history and visiting places of interest. I'm very fit, having long legs means I cover distances quicker than most but also love a good scramble and prefer clear weather as I enjoy the views from a good summit.

I've climbed Mt Snowdon, Carnedd Llewelyn, Pen yr Ole Wen, hills of Church Stratton Shropshire and hope to doing some long walks in Lake District September 2019. Some female company would be preferred so we both can enjoy some stunning scenery.

If interested please message me. I'm a keen walker who enjoys the outdoors and would like to share it with someone.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Trowbridge hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm looking to meet other walkers to explore more of the countryside, villages and canal in Wiltshire/Somerset and hopefully venture further afield. I'm 59 and work part time. On days when I'm not sat at a desk I do a couple of fast miles around the neighbourhood and park and in very bad weather I do a couple of miles 'on the spot' indoors. I've recently enjoyed a walking holiday with women and dogs in South Wales and hope to do a lot more walking in the future just need some walking friends to do it all with. I'm happy with a casual 6-8 miles for but willing to go further. My dream walk would be to return to Yosemite national park. Please get in touch if you're interested in meeting up.
