I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Lincoln.

My Message: I am a stroller/rambler more than a hiker, I guess; just love to be outdoors and 'wandering' the dales, fens, lakes, seashore... all of our great countryside. It would be lovely to have a walking friend, male or female, to wander with. Dogs are very welcome... I am normally accompanied by an elderly but active Chihuahua (hope that doesn't put folk off!). Love North Norfolk, Yorkshire Dales and Moors, Lake District, Rutland and where I live - Lincolnshire. Hope to hear from you...

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Gloucester.

My Message: Hello. I love walking and would enjoy meeting new people (male or female) to walk with. I have 3 dogs (a cocker spaniel, a terrier cross and recently acquired a rescue dog from Bulgaria who is a black and cream fluffy mixed breed about collie size but looks like a miniature husky) the 2 older dogs are very well behaved and the young pup (9 months) is getting there. I love my dogs, but would enjoy the company of human beings too!

I can walk quite long distances, but need to do a bit of 'view appreciation' during longer uphill climbs. I live on the outskirts of Gloucester, but am happy to travel within reason. I have a tent and like to go camping in the better weather.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Bracknell.

My Message: Hi, I'm based in Berkshire but willing to travel. I'm am interested in all sorts of walking, whether it be routes from guides or just picking up a map and heading off. Love the idea of the long distance paths, and have been working my way along the North Downs Way with a friend for a few years now - who knows we might finish this year. I started the Thames Path by accident in 2015 and have since completed approximately one third of it (Culham to Kingston) - obviously started in the middle and have been working my way backwards and forwards! I'd love to do other long distance paths such as South Downs Way, London loop, Coast to Coast and am seriously considering starting the South West Coast path this year. Happy to do them in bite sized chunks or in bigger sections. Generally most of my walking has been done solo and I'm happy with my own company, but equally like walking with others. I'd love to join up with like minded either single walkers or groups. Have been known to climb the odd mountain - Snowdon and Carauntoohil the most notable - and the Lake District is somewhere I'm keen to walk in. Look forward to hearing from any like-minded walkers.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Crook, Co Durham.

My Message:
Hi everyone, this is the first time I have used this message board or anything like it so I am not exactly sure what to put. I am 56 coming up 57 and am on my own. As for the graded walks I am not sure, but I like to walk the hills in the Lake District and equally like a low level walk through the valleys. I don't like to start a walk when it's pouring down, but have got caught in the rain many a time whilst out. I've ticked a few of the boxes regards where I would like to walk but would be glad to go anywhere where there is countryside, woods etc. I would be glad to here from anyone, male or female with similar interests. If anyone would like anymore information please contact me any time.

My Message: Hi
I am looking for male walking companions who may be interested in walking with an interesting female. I live in north Essex but happy to travel. If you are retired that would be a bonus.
Someone who is educated and capable of a good conversation, and of course, good at map reading. Someone I can laugh along with way with would be great. Tall, even, if I can be that picky.

My Message: Hello, I am interested in meeting experienced walkers as I am not well versed enough to buddy up with another novice like myself (we might end up getting lost!)

I am willing to learn new skills and I am ready for new challenges. If there is a walking group out there willing to welcome a new member that would be ideal.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Blundeston.

My Message: Hi, I love walking about 15 miles a day while on holiday for a week and shorter ones of around 5 miles more often. I am in a carer's group being the only man and have been used to female company, {Not looking for a relationship}, my wife has been ill for 30 years and encourages me to get out and about as much as possible, as she cannot walk far any more. I have walked peak district, south and north downs ways, St ives to Penzance via Lands End, Ridgeway, Peddars way, Icknield Path and many more. Being a good map reader loosing my way very rarely happens, so if you would like to meet up for a drink in a cafe to see if we get along please message me. Andy

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Oxfordshire.

My Message: I'm a friendly, experienced walker getting back into regular walking after too long tied to my desk and computer. Most of my friends prefer quiet lanes and byways but I thrive on something high and more challenging so it would be good to make new walking friends. I'm positive, a good listener, will walk in any weather, can navigate and I enjoy all kinds of walking. Self employed, curious about most things including landscape, literature and art history. I find walking endlessly inspiring and look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Romford.

My Message: Hi I'm Terry. What a stunning 2016. Had some lovely weather this year and it stayed pretty dry down south. Had some great walks, met some lovely people and made a few more friends. My job hasn't changed and still pretty full on during the week days so its great to get out there at the weekends. Yep I still have my trusty borders (think they will out strip me as they never want to stop) I want to try to get away a few more weekends around my call outs before crimbo then start planning 2017. I live just on the London/Essex border and I have always enjoyed walking. I try to pick on different kinds of walks that range from canal walks, Kent coast line plus long/short walks in the countryside. I try to get down to Swanage, Dorset as much as I can and love walking the Purbecks/Jurassic coast. Pubs and food are great around that area. I totally understand if you don't like walking with dogs but they are good and I enjoy meeting people while out with these energetic mutts. I am single but would still love a friend to enjoy walks in various parts of this lovely country and take in the food/pubs where ever possible. I am not really into to group walking plus a lot of groups don't allow dogs. I want to get more into camping in 2017 and look forward to having some long weekends at various different areas in the UK/Wales/Scotland and hopefully return to the Lake district for some hill bagging. Have been on this site over a year now and its nice to meet like minded people. If you fancy meeting up for a day or two walking just get in touch and lets see what we can arrange. Cheers Terry

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Berkhamsted.

My Message: My husband and l have always walked on and off as we lose motivation. We have restarted walking and would love to keep the momentum going. We are in our mid 40s and love each other company but we will welcome other companies in order to keep us motivated. We can easily do 8-12miles walks but happy to try to do more. We live in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire and would love to join couples, single men or women for weekend walks around the surrounding counties such as Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, London, Essex and Oxfordshire. We would love to go for some famous walks such as the Yorkshire Dales, Dartmoor.... on a long weekend trip. So, if you think we can motivate each other, please let us know.

My Message: Hi, I live in County Durham and I am looking for walking companions to walk with me mainly on weekends but can do some mid week walks also. I wouldn't say I'm an experienced walker but have really enjoyed what I have done so far which includes Ben Nevis. I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chatham.

My Message: I'm a 60 year old male based in Chatham Kent but I often travel to NW England and stay in Liverpool, Warrington or sometimes Manchester. I travel by train as I work for a rail company and don't drive but find that I can get to most of the places I like to go walking.
My walking interests are varied I used to do a lot of mountain walks a few years ago but haven't done any serious hard ones in recent years but I'm still fit to do long walks. I like canals, railway, coastal and river paths, moorland walks and around reservoirs maximum walk length I usually do are about up to 12 miles in 4-5 hours though I could shorten or lengthen it depending on a possible companion's need, if you have a dog I can work out a walk to suit your dog. I have lots of knowledge of walks around the NW and other area's.
I'm just looking for a friend either male or female to enjoy going walking within any of my favourite areas, I'm independent and would travel to meet at any place that is convenient. I'm a new member and haven't got a photo but hope to add one soon.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near West Sussex.

My Message: Hello.
I'm keen on the outdoors and enjoy back-packing and fell walking - I love the independence and freedom of it. I usually like to choose organised campsites or hostels interspersed with the odd B&B or wild camping, depending on weather.

I'm currently organising a fair number of trips in Wales and the Lake District and I'm in North Wales for a long-weekend every three months. Because of the usual busy diaries and work commitments, its often quite hard to get walking friends together for trips so I am looking for some people to do these walks with - as its always more fun with others.

I'm based south of London but regularly travel north for day-walks or for weekends in the mountains. If you might be interested in getting involved and coming along then please drop me a line....

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Derbyshire.

My Message: Hi all. I'm a 37 year old male from Derby, whom has quite recently developed a passion for the great outdoors - a passion, unfortunately, not shared with my city-going friends. My walking boots don't get to see anywhere near as much terrain as they deserve to, and I'm hoping that this website can change that.

I am therefore, looking for some company, male or female - age not an issue - who enjoys the walking, the fresh air, the exercise, and especially the scenery as much as I do. Whether it's a quiet, easy stroll, or something more demanding over several days, I really don't mind. The weather is also not a problem to me - like any sensible person, I prefer the sun to be in the sky and a mild breeze to be in the air, but I also enjoy walks in varying climates as long as I remember to pack the correct gear! :-)

If anybody reading this post feels in a similar situation, then please get in touch and drop me a message.

I look forward to responding. Thanks. Matt.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Poole.

My Message: Hello my name is Carole. I live in Dorset. I walk at least 5kms every day as I have a very energetic young dog. At the weekends we walk upto 23kms each day over beautiful heathland - so I am fit when it comes to dog walking. I love the outdoors, enjoying the peace and solitude of nature. I want to expand my horizons and do some serious walking but not alone as tend to get lost however not interested in walking with an organised group. I work full time so weekends are mainly when I'm available. I am always up for a challenge and adventure - my last challenge was sailing, now seeking something different on land and planning to do the Camino de Santiago in 2017 so need to start training. Is there anyone out there who would like company on their walks?

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Storrington.

My Message: I'm new to living in West Sussex, just north of the South Downs. I adore walking, exploring, finding new routes, sometimes using the map and sometimes not using the map. I normally walk alone and I'm comfortable with the liberating feeling that gives me, especially when I have my camera. Having walking companions would be marvellous though, maybe a bit nostalgic too. I walk around 5 or 6 miles right now, more not to aggravate a dodgy calf muscle, but that distance may well increase. I'm in my early fifties but I'm fit and nimble and walk quite fast (though slow down or stop randomly when something catches my attention!). My interests are wide and I love an intellectual or out of the box conversation. I haven't read too many novels - too busy enjoying being outside.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Crawley.

My Message: Hello my name is Sheena a non-smoker and 55 who lives in Crawley. I see myself as reasonable fit for my age and regular do the Brighton Marathon to keep me active, but my passion is long walks.

I sometimes wonder off for several hours round the local area to discover I just walked 14 miles across country. But it would be nice to have a male or female walking companion to share this with. Particularly someone who would like to meet up regularly to explore trails and paths around Sussex and Surrey and occasionally plan an adventure further afield.

I work full-time so the weekends are best for me and particularly interested in doing 10-16 miles plus walks, but not a race as I like to look at the scenery, smell the flowers and listen to the wild life, saying that, not a Sunday stroll either, not bothered about the terrain and happy with pubs, picnic and tearoom.

I do drive so can travel and meet up.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near London.

My Message: I live in North London. I enjoy day walks in the Home Counties with a walking club I've belonged to for some years. I am interested in going further afield with another walker (m or f) for more than day hikes, perhaps revisiting some of the English national trails I walked in past decades. I don't rule out Wales or Scotland where I also know some areas. I like classical music, pub conversation, reading, crossword solving, planning and leading walks. For much of my life I have been involved in local politics but ready to give these a miss in my retirement. I am divorced with one grown-up daughter who lives with me.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Southampton.

My Message: What a great site to find, not as much as any hill or mountain top though. I'm a frequent walker, occasionally getting myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself that bit more. I guess you'd say I'm developing my navigation skills, occasionally using technology to help out. That said, I am comfortable using a map and compass and yet to get myself in any bother on the hills.
It would be nice to find someone willing to venture out onto the hills/mountains of our fantastic country. There's still so much to discover.
I have transport and able to camp rough, well in a campervan if that counts!
