I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Amersham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Looking for both Female and male walking friends to explore different areas in the UK. I live in Buckinghamshire Chilterns hills and would like to have friends to explore more around here. At the same time would love to explore together other places!!
I have my own car but can drive only around my area. Rely on the train for longer distances.
Visited the peak district last May and very soon going to the lake district.
I'm aiming to improve my hiking skills.

I'm calm and peaceful. Spiritual, but not religious.Not actively looking for anything except a walking companion, unless the right person comes along

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West England; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Portsmouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I walk both for fitness and pleasure and I am particularly interested in meeting someone who would like to travel and walk. Not simply to clock up loads of miles (I mostly keep under 10) but for sightseeing and to enjoy local communities, live music and a few drinks. Someone who camps would be great, as I would like to get away for short breaks in the summer. I also want to do more walking abroad; excluding anything very extreme! Not keen on cold nor spiders! As a person I am quite practical, independent, thoughtful but not intellectual, a bit daft at times, relatively non judgmental, not keen on snobbery and do not follow a religion or a sport. Walking, theatre, art and listening to a variety of music are my main interests.

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bournemouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in the South West and would like to meet people to walk with locally in Dorset and Hampshire. I work full time so can usually only manage weekends, but would also be interested in walking breaks/holidays in UK or Europe.

I'm reasonably fit and have walked in the Lake District, Snowdonia National Park, SW Coast Path, Ben Nevis, and walked the whole of Hadrian's Wall. I enjoy a bit of a challenge, and love to walk up mountains, so would really like to bag a few more when I get the chance.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bath hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking and want people to go walking and to socialise with. If we can get a good weather day and a view, all the better. I'd be happy to meet up with men or women for a day's walk, anytime soon. Also happy to join a group walk. At least it's something we can still do at this time.
I've walked the whole of the SWCP, circuit of the Isle of Wight, the South Downs Way and the Cotswold Way. I love walking in the Lake District and would love to do the Coast to Coast. Am also trying to the Wessex Ridgeway in single day trips from home. But I also love a blow on the Marlborough Downs or just an amble along the canal. Tea or a pub meal at the end is a bonus.
I'm retired and don't have any regular commitments except Wednesday evenings at the moment. I play tennis but don't want to appear super fit, just normal for a walker in her 60's! Am happy to travel to meet up with someone and hope it might be you.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Stafford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in the Staffordshire area and would like to meet male and female walking partners to walk locally and explore more of the UK. I walk my dogs each evening after work and like to try new routes over the weekend. I enjoy walking in the Peak District over the weekends as that is doable in a day. I am keen to learn new walking routes and I am open to suggestions. I am reasonably fit and can do a bit of scrambling but am not a climber. My map and navigation skills are not good, so would welcome someone with these skills so we don't get hopelessly lost (currently relying on google maps). I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Bingley hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi all,
My name is Bry, looking primarily for walking partner(s) in the Yorkshire area but am also mobile and with a keen desire to explore new areas once the current regulations permit this.
I am physically in reasonable shape, ex military (Royal Navy) and currently work at sea in the commercial Geoscience sector, so geophysical / geotechnical seabed surveys for the oil and gas, wind and cable industries. This means I am away for a few weeks at a time, but when not at sea have complete freedom. I am currently single with no ties, and try and spend as much time as possible in the hills. Currently restricted to the moors around Ilkley due to national constraints, but love driving to the Dales for longer walks. I consider myself of above average fitness for my age, but always room for improvement. Would not be adverse to overnight trips or expeditions, have a love of exploration that won't seem to go away. I am fortunate to be well travelled, have done hikes in Antarctica, Falklands and South America amongst others but don't let that put you off.
Laid back, articulate and confident. Will walk with anyone of any ability for companionship, would not rule out anything more if there was any chemistry but not looking for that to be a defining reason for being on here.
Sky is the limit, so please get in touch if you want to know more, chat or maybe arrange a meet. I consider myself socially responsible, so will need to be within current guidelines for meeting until things change. Current situation wont last forever!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Canterbury hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello. Having played sport for many years I now enjoy walking regularly and love exploring the countryside, coastal areas and beautiful scenery. I particularly like seeking new adventures and going to places I haven't seen before.
I have a good sense of humour (I think we need it at the moment!), am not put off by inclement weather and will try most things! I also enjoy historical places of interest, art galleries, watching sport and sometimes grabbing a coffee or a beer on the way!
I am comfortable in my own company but would love to share some adventures with someone likeminded and kind.
I am from Kent but have my own car and will travel to most places to have a nice day's walking and:or days out. I currently walk around the Kent coast and countryside, but often (when not in lockdown!) will travel anywhere right across the south of England and further afield.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for pleasant, easy going male or female walking friends preferably located in The Midlands, but not limited to this area as I'm more than willing to travel for an adventurous day out. Someone who loves the outdoors and likes to have a gentle chat, someone who can listen as well as talk, who has a good sense of humour and who isn't averse to a bit of adventure. I love to take advantage of the lighter evenings in the Spring and Summer to walk locally (within a 20ish miles radius) during the week. I work a couple of days a week, but can fit in daytime walks on other weekdays and at weekends. Happy to discuss any possibilities. It would be great to hear from you. Best wishes and happy walking, Mo (Maureen).

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near London hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, John here, I am a really keen walker and looking for a female walking companion to join me for walks of varying distances in the countryside around London and the South East generally including coastal walks and perhaps a trip further afield. It would be good to have a walking day our with a pub lunch and even tea to finish, I am retired and can walk mid-week as well as weekends to suit your own commitments. I do not drive but love travelling by train for walks outside London and the coast. If you are interested in walking with me at any time to suit then I would love to hear from you because on a nice day I just love to grab one of my books with walk routes and head off. I'm a volunteer lock keeper and work one day a week which I love doing. I love London's history and give guided walks and currently writing a book to include my ten favourite walks. Hope to hear from you soon!

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I don't drive.

I am a Walk Leader for my Local Ramblers Group(s).

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Lincolnshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking, everything about it. What could be better than sitting down with a glass of wine and planning a walk.
Then there's the excitement of arriving at your walks starting point (usually a pub car park if it's a circular walk)
The anticipation as you lace up your boots and the adrenaline rush as you set off on your way. The endorphins kick in, you get warm, remove a layer ( i can never work out exactly the right clothes to walk in )
The scenery is beautiful, you catch a glimpse of a deer, a buzzard, a moth or a cowslip.
I often get lost ( Its not getting lost, its going on an adventure) i usually get muddy and sometimes i fall over.
Then there's the relief as your sore feet sense the end of the walk. A nice pint and a pack of crisps or nuts, maybe a meal by a fire.
These are all wonderful things, but so much more when shared with a like minded friend.
