I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I now work part time so have plenty of time to go walking locally and nationally. I am friendly and reliable and like to chat on a walk.

I am looking for people who love walking and are looking for someone to join them. I would like to meet someone who is also interested in walking some of our long distance paths. Sometimes we need a bit of motivation and encouragement and it is always better to have some company and support. Distance and speed are not that important. I equally enjoy local half day walks in the south of England to all day challenges in the mountains. But, it's always nice to end up in a country pub at the end of the day.

I am a reasonable map reader and whilst generally cautious by nature, I am fairly confident in the mountains. I have a car so can travel as necessary. I like to chat about about most things and it would be a bonus if you had a good sense of humour too. I'll try to respond to all responses.

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Mountain Biking

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Newbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi.
Retired,very young at heart lady, with good sense of humour, enjoys walking in nice places, and taking in the scenery, visiting a gallery, quaint coffee shop, historical building, places of interest. Currently tend to walk alone locally in west Berkshire area, taking the train to villages outside of area at times..
Always enjoyed adventures to new places..it's been ok doing things alone but got to thinking it may be more fun to share nice walks
Now I have more time, would be lovely to share the moments and have a laugh and an adventure along the way...stop off to take in the scenery and some lunch...
I'm open to walking in most places, usually near to home, And surrounding areas, but not restricted to that and happy to venture further afield,once I know someone to go for walks with...Love walking in countryside and to villages with things to see 😊..
I do enjoy a tranquil setting...in the countryside and also can enjoy a walk in London, at one of the many parks...
I completed the walk around Hadrian's wall some time ago..completed over a few weekends...😊👍
Hoping to hear from someone soon...don't seem to be many people in my area..zero replies 🤣-..

I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Southampton hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Sally, single, retired, with time and energy to walk. Keen to meet a single, fit, friendly guy to help map read, who likes to stop and admire the views. I've trekked the Tramuntana mountains in Mallorca, part of the SWCP in Cornwall, Isle of Skye and The North Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Closer to home - The New Forest,The Monach's Way, South Downs, Clarendon Way (25 miles in one hit) Usually 10 miles a day is fine by me! Join local walking groups but prefer to walk with a friend.
Free to walk anywhere here or abroad in an area with some interest or beauty, with a pub or cafe at the end. Pretty adventurous, don't do bleak or freezing tho'! Would like to be introduced to some new areas. Interested in completing SWCP in doable chunks.
Other interests include: cycling, kayaking, sailing, coastal walks are great, love being by the sea, music, live gigs, anything arty, local exhibitions or performances on route.
If this type of relaxed walking companion appeals, please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Salisbury hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Al, a male walker hoping to meet a female walking companion. I'm a 65 year old former Navy and Air Force helicopter pilot still active in the training of military pilots. No, I'm not a march all day, salute everybody kind of guy, quite the opposite, though while I'd rather be loafing around in shorts and T shirt I do know how to put on a suit. I've been into sport all my life, team sports, the gym, running and now walking. I'm getting back into fitness with jogs/walks in the woods and back in the gym and I would to get back to day long walks in the hills and Dales. I work a 4 day week so can walk during the week and at weekends. I would like to start with a stroll around town and lunch or whatever and then build up to longer walks but I appreciate that it would take time to build the confidence to walk with a man in the woods or the hills. I'm flexible and more than willing to compromise. Ideally I would like to meet an independent lady who takes an interest in the world around her and is happy to discuss and debate her own opinions. Looking forward to hearing from you.

My Message: Hi, John here, I am a really keen walker and looking for a female walking companion to join me for walks of varying distances in the countryside around London and the South East generally including coastal walks and perhaps a trip further afield. I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Lincolnshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking, everything about it. What could be better than sitting down with a glass of wine and planning a walk.
Then there's the excitement of arriving at your walks starting point (usually a pub car park if it's a circular walk)
The anticipation as you lace up your boots and the adrenaline rush as you set off on your way. The endorphins kick in, you get warm, remove a layer ( i can never work out exactly the right clothes to walk in )
The scenery is beautiful, you catch a glimpse of a deer, a buzzard, a moth or a cowslip.
I often get lost ( Its not getting lost, its going on an adventure) i usually get muddy and sometimes i fall over.
Then there's the relief as your sore feet sense the end of the walk. A nice pint and a pack of crisps or nuts, maybe a meal by a fire.
These are all wonderful things, but so much more when shared with a like minded friend.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Southampton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: New focus - Avon Valley Path, Salisbury to Christchurch for Aug, Sept or October,
2020. I'm retired with plenty of time and passion to be out walking. I'm curious and observant, exploring my surroundings, keen on historical architecture, geology, flora and fauna.
Completed LD routes of North and South Downs, SWCP, Cotswold Way, part Ridgeway. I loved walking Thames Towpath and discovered there are another 2000 miles of towpath in Britain to go!
Looking to explore Sussex, Kent, Norfolk. Canals Midlands etc. in next few years.
Car owner, bus and train too.
Sharing any walk in conversation with tea or pub included would be fun! Long term, finding a fellow walker of either sex who'd have the time to explore Welsh coastal path, the Netherlands, is also on the agenda.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for new friends to explore the UK with, as I've exhausted(literally !!) my current friends, many of whom prefer short walks. During this corona lockdown I've averaged 30 miles a week - better than baking any day. My job is cabin crew, often I have 3 days off during the week with the occasional weekend. I especially love coastal walks, but am good with any terrain, just happy to be walking. I'd like to do more multi day hikes, no problem camping or staying in BnBs. I walk mostly with my friends and my cockerpoo and we often do 5-6 miles, but happy to do more! I was training to do the London Moon Walk this year and got to a total of 15 miles, but then....... covid agggggghhh.
I currently run a B&B business and I'm a hair stylist too.
I'm looking for walking buddies in the Kent or Sussex areas close to me. I'd love to walk the South Downs way.
I love travel, creative hobbies and good food.
Hoping to hear from you if you enjoy trying new walks and areas in Sussex and Kent.

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Walk Leader for my Local Ramblers Group(s).

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 30s, based near Whitchurch hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm looking to meet new people/friends to have fun with and share some nice days out walking. I'm originally from Scotland but moved to Shropshire just over 10 years ago. I'm out most weekends walking or mountain biking so I'm reasonably fit. I also love camping so happy to go away for a camping/walking weekend. I would love to hear from you whether it be a lazy stroll or something a bit more energetic!.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;

A bit more about me:

I love Scrambling & Edges - the more exposure the better. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking
  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding
  • Paragliding

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre. I'm vegan ( you don't have to be) and a reasonable cook though do enjoy dining out too. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Kent hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Spurred on by doing more challenging walks ahead of doing the Three Peaks Challenge 6 years ago I have continued to enjoy walks and climbs. I am active and fully fit enjoying a variety of activities. I enjoy varied walks from relaxed countryside walks to something more challenging. Part of enjoying walks for me is good company. I am happy to enjoy a drink or meal afterwards and would consider multi day trips. Prefer mid-week although I could do weekend walks. I have indicated walking areas and counties but are not limited to those indicated. If my post interests you do get in touch

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello! My name is Umesh and I am keen to find someone to explore hiking trails with over, in particular, over the next few months given we can't travel overseas.

I'm a keen hiker and amateur mountaineer (last year I climbed Mont Blanc and Kili) but really just enjoy getting out into nature and it doesn't have to be too strenuous. When we are allowed, I'd ideally like to do a bit more exploring in the Lakes and perhaps further afield in Scotland and Wales.

I'm not working at the moment so have plenty of time on my hands although that could change. I'm currently studying for my WSET level 3 wine course so am a bit tied up with that over the next few weeks but looking for some adventures in July!

I am a Female Walker, in my early 20s, based near Bury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello,
I am interested in meeting male or female friends to go walking with, especially now the warmer weather is approaching (provided that this lockdown eventually ends). I am based in Lancashire however I can drive and have a car so I am willing to go further afield. I am a bit out of practise with walking very long distances as my friends are not the hiking-types so I've struggled to find people to go with me in the past. However, I would really like to challenge myself and I hope to meet like minded people. I have a springer spaniel who would be joining me.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Wa11 hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello to everyone, I've been a hill and mountain walker for many years now. In my early 60s, I am inclined to sit on a comfortable rock and watch the world go by. During a walk on a nice day. I backed packed round the world with a friend just a few years ago and would like to do it again in the not to distant future.

I would like to meet females for new adventures. I'm happy to do any grade of walk. From half a day on the flat to a couple of days backpacking in the hills. Camping B+Bs Pubs or Hotels, i don't mind. I can do weekdays and weekends. Tried the photo, says it was OK but it does not seem to have appeared!

Many thanks, hope to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a happy and fun loving 53 year old woman who enjoys walking and riding a tandem. I am a good listener and enjoy both chatty walks and peaceful times in the countryside.
Unusually I am a visually impaired walker who needs to be guided but not supported to walk confidently, so I am looking for kind men and women who are happy for me to gently hold their arm.
Wwalking companions who are not too far away would be ideal, although I am happy to travel by train to meet for walks.
I have regularly been walking 6-10 miles at the weekend until two months ago. I go to the gym four times a week and swim to keep fit. I used to enjoy looking at wild flowers and birds when walking but this is more limited now. A good pub at the end of a walk is always welcome!

I hope to meet a companion for regular walks and possibly walking holidays in the future, in the UK and abroad. I work so I am only free to walk on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and when on holidays from work.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Weymouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Leo. I'm single and retired with no commitments, so free to walk anytime.

I was brought up in Dorset, and walking the hills and coast path is something I've enjoyed since childhood. I don't consider myself a dedicated walker, so I am very happy to combine walking with some exploration, sight seeing and of course, lunch or coffee.

I would like to meet similar minded men or women who like the outdoors and nature but perhaps would also like to share other interests. Mine include the sea, travel, art, theatre, tennis(beginner) and raquetball. I'm fairly easy going and enjoy new places and experiences.

Finding new friends local to me would be great for regular walks, but I also like to go on walking holidays in the UK or abroad.
