I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live close to the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there and around me, not to race to the end. What would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments or a meal. I'm just into my 70's but am fit and younger in appearance and character. I can get along with most people of all ages. I am vegan and so would love to meet a vegan or veggie if possible. I generally like to walk between 5-15 miles I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. I drive and don't see anywhere on the mainland as too far. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. Chris

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Machynlleth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Now retired but still walking. I live in mid Wales just off the coast. Surrounded by hills, big and small. Planning to walk part of the Welsh coastal path for two weeks next April. Have done a lot of different walks in many countries. Don't mind where or when,rain or shine. If I can get there, I'm up for it. Getting a bit bored of talking to myself so a walking partner now and then would be nice.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Amersham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live in S Bucks but love the mountains and hills: Peaks, Dartmoor, Beacons, Shropshire hills, mid-Wales, N and S Downs. I can get to them all in no more than three hours, have a great day's walking, and home again - as long as I'm out of the car for more than I'm in it, that's OK.

If you'd like to meet for a walk in these or any other (not too flat) regions, and are looking for friendship and company, I'd love to hear from you.

I've also become a mountain biker after getting a bike to access more remote hills but the bike's taken over a bit, and I'm trying to return to walking more. I've even tried a bit of bikepacking with tent etc (and even skis) to make it an adventure, but not wholly sold on that idea!

The Lakes, Snowdonia, and Scotland are the real draws though, especially in winter conditions. I've been up to the far NW and the W and Central Highlands for the last few years and love them. And the Alps of course, and Arctic Norway.

I like mountains and hills. I walk among them and try to ski (downhill and touring) them, and recently mountain bike through them to save my legs when getting to the more remote ones. Try imagining the peaks and valleys under a kilometre of ice shaping the Lakes or Highlands into the dramatic wild places they can be today. After an injury or two in 2022 I'm taking things little more leisurely but still like a good day's fresh air in most weathers.

I used to work right in the middle of London which was enjoyable and different; I live at the end of a Tube line with a usually-muddy field-and-woods walk to my local station.

But I made the move (end 2015) to working from home - or not - in my own time, so I'm freed from the weekends-only bids for the outdoors. So if you fancy meeting for a walk or a muddy ride, let me know.

Oh, and my name is Robert.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Bath hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am in my late 60's and live on the edge of Bath close to the Cotswold Way. I used to walk with my wife but she passed away in late 2020 and since then I have either walked with a group or alone, but group walking is not my preferred option as I like to be able to stop and take in the views when appropriate and this is not so easy when in a group.
If a walk can be combined with a pub or cafe visit part way through or at the end all the better.
I usually walk around 8 or 9 miles but can easily do up to 12 or more. Equally I am happy on shorter walks of 5 or 6 miles. I have completed over 75% of the SW Coast Path and I would be interested in other long distance paths such as the coast to coast.
My general interests centre around sport, heritage and outdoor life. I volunteer at a local city farm and do footpath improvement work in my local area. I have a disabled daughter and am / have been involved with associated charity and campaign groups.
Being retired I can usually be available to walk most days subject to my volunteering roles.
I have walked a lot around the Mendips and South Cotswolds but have also spent a fair amount of time on the Quantocks, Exmoor, Dorset coast and East Devon areas.
I have recently bought a campervan and this year have generally done shorter trips around the south and west but plan to venture further afield in the coming year.
I would like to find a similar minded person to join me on walks both in my local area and further afield.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Malvern hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello. I am looking for a walking partner for local, regional or even national walks. Maybe even overseas! I've recently moved to the Malvern Hills area (Worcestershire) where there are many interesting walks over hills,through woods and along rivers so do come along and visit! I enjoy all kinds of walking, from low level meandering along a wooded valley to scrambling in the Lake District. I also enjoy camping, in the right weather (!), and cycling. I've been camping and walking around the Tywyn area of mid Wales recently.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Bishops Waltham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi there

I'm a relaxed, friendly and positive person who enjoys meeting new people.

I like spending whole days walking and would love to meet someone who could join me. I also like half day walks too! I'd particularly like to do long distance paths either over a series of weekends or for a few days.

I'm fit and active with a love of nature so walking is more about the beauty around me than ticking off a bucket list, or marking up achievements. Nothing wrong with those but they're not what motivates me.

I also love a good conversation and whilst I happily go for solo walks it's nice to share the experience with a friend or two so I hope to meet some friends on here!

I've specified the southern half of the country, not because I don't want to walk further afield but I'm being practical about what I can fit in during a normal working week. I work full time but have weekends, summer evenings (if you're not far away) and generally work a 9 day fortnight so I get a couple of extra days a month. I also have holidays and because I live alone and don't have children I can be flexible.

I'm not confident with dogs but if you have a well-behaved small or medium-sized dog I'll probably be ok with it.

I'd also be up for trips to other parts of the UK and abroad.

That's probably enough for now please do get in touch if you'd like to.

Thanks.

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Wa11 hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello to everyone. In my mid 60s, I am inclined to sit on a comfortable rock and watch the world go by. During a walk on a nice day. I do walk all year round and enjoy the changing seasons. I backpacked round the world with a mate just a few years ago and would like to do it again. In the not to distant future.

I would like to meet people for new adventures. I'm happy to do most grades of walk. From half a day on the flat to a couple of days backpacking in the hills. Camping B+Bs Pubs or Hotels. I can do weekdays and weekends. I have a car and a Bongo. A small camper van.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bishop Auckland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I have enjoyed hill walking since my childhood - alongwith a sense of freedom, space and challenge it helps me refuel my inner strength to deal with anything during the working week.

I moved up to Bishop Auckland in 2010 because of my love of hill-walking. I walked the Pennine Way in 1986 and always enjoy revisiting bits of it. More recently I've completed the Dales Way, WHW, Great Glen Way, Dava Way,C2C,Offa's Dyke Path & Isaac's Tea Trail and hoped to complete Hadrian's Wall Path 2020 but didn't!!. In June 2021 I completed Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in 11.5hrs for Alzheimer's Society (that's me on the right of the photo). I enjoy regular walking in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands, the Borders and Northumberland with a fantastic local fell walking club (which I help run) and am free many weekends and during the school holiday times.

My interests are all things musical and 20th Century painting. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy 2022!! Andy

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Ludlow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I am looking for male/female walking friends. As I work all week it would mainly be for weekend walking, whether a day walk or an weekend away. If you are local to me then happy to do some evening walks in the week.

I would say I have a good level of fitness, map skills get me by (most of the time!).

I am happy on most terrains in any weather and any area at a pace to enjoy the surroundings. I like doing trails, either as a linear walk or doing in sections and making a circular walk.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live in London, but have done lots of long distance path walking,including the SW coastal path and the Cumbria Way and a fair bit of mountain walking in Scotland: Arran, the Cairngorms, Mull, Assynt... I would love to explore more countryside, mostly the northern half of the country and Ireland, which I'm sorry to say I've never been to!

I was a bike commuter for many years which has given me a good level of fitness and I still love cycling in the city, preferring to keep away from busy roads.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near West Malling hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone, I'm katherine and love walking as much as the rest of you. I would like to go walking and mountaineering with someone who is as passionate about the mountains as I am. Was hoping to go wild camping this year for a weekend in the summer so if you are up for that I'd love the company as I won't do on my own.

I've done a lot of the Lakes having spent all my holidays there. Recently completed Ben Nevis with my teenagers! Boy that was hard work but we achieved it. So basically that means we've done the 3 peaks and looking to attempt lots more this year.

I live in the Kent and regularly go cycling along the north downs. I walk reguarly but its so much better to have someone with you. If there happens to be a special person out there hey that's great, if not just making new friends would be fabulous too.

Looking forward to hearing from you

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Mountain Biking
  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding
  • Dancing

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Exeter hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello!
I'm 60 and a self confessed walkaholic! It's really nice to think there are others who share my love of connecting with the natural world in a way that feeds the heart and soul. In recent years, I have done several long distance walks over 2-6 weeks. This is the way I most enjoy walking. It's good to have a destination but the journey and the lovely people you meet along the way are much more important to me. One of the reasons I love long distance walking is having the freedom to walk as long as it's enjoyable and safe rather than feeling I have to reach a particular point on the map each day. I generally walk about 10 miles a day depending on the terrain, and make it possible with a mix of wild and tame camping as well as the odd night in civilisation.
Over the last year, I haven't been for an adventure because I've had a beautiful Ukrainian family living with me. They now have their own home so I'm ready to walk again.🥾 Normally I walk alone and enjoy the peace and stillness that lone walking brings. I'm now beginning to think that it would be sensible to have a buddy to walk with. When I walk alone, I rarely get lost but when walking with friends, we frequently get lost because we're talking so much. :) Therefore I am hoping to find a confident map reader to walk with!
Quite recently I have been widowed and am now looking to embrace life and all the good things it has to offer. I work part time and my hours are flexible making it quite easy to go for a walk. I would love to hear from you if your love of walking in wild places resonates with mine.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bushey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm David, I'm 64 and widowed. Life is for living and I'm not ready to just sit back in a comfortable armchair having spent a number of years bringing up a young family alone. I'm hoping to make new friends for adventures and challenges,both here in the UK and overseas. I want to grab life for myself and start exploring the great outdoors. I'm fit and love being outdoors in all weathers, either walking or running. There aren't many hills in Hertfordshire so I'm happy to travel, although I'm also interested in more local walks across fields, bridleways and canal footpaths, especially if there is the incentive of coffee and cake. I'm generally a novice walker although have previously walked in the Peak District, Yorkshire, The Lake District and Scotland. My kids say they have the local care home on speed dial so I'm hoping to be rescued.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Bournemouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: A bit about me; l'm a widow, single, adventurous, fit and happy.
I enjoy walking anywhere and would like to explore new areas. I have walked some of the SW coastal path and would like to do more of this. Also love walking in the countryside, be it just me and my spaniel, or with friends. It would be lovely to meet new friends to walk with and share conversation, a good yarn or a laugh, maybe a beer or coffee along the way.
Happy also to explore areas further afield, and willing to travel.
I live on the Dorset coast so also enjoy sea dips and kayaking and messing about on/by the water.
I have walked the Camino de Santiago and may return to walk sections again sometime. Open to suggestions for new adventures and fun.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I now work part time so have plenty of time to go walking locally and nationally. I am friendly and reliable and like to chat on a walk.

I am looking for people who love walking and are looking for someone to join them. I would like to meet someone who is also interested in walking some of the long distance paths across the country. Sometimes we need a bit of motivation and encouragement and it is always better to have some company and support. Distance and speed are not that important. I equally enjoy local half day walks in the south of England to all day challenges in the mountains. But, it's always nice to end up in a country pub at the end of the day.

I am a reasonable map reader and whilst generally cautious by nature, I am fairly confident in the mountains. I have a car so can travel as necessary. I like to chat about about most things and it would be a bonus if you had a good sense of humour too.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Salisbury hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Al, a male walker hoping to meet a female walking companion. I've been into sport all my life, team sports, the gym, running and now walking. I'm getting back into fitness with jogs/walks in the woods and back in the gym and I would to get back to day long walks in the hills and Dales. I work a 4 day week at the moment but go part time in September '22 so can walk during the week and at weekends. I would like to start with a stroll around town and lunch or whatever and then build up to longer walks but I appreciate that it would take time to build the confidence to walk with a man in the woods or the hills. I'm flexible and more than willing to compromise. Ideally I would like to meet an independent lady who takes an interest in the world around her and is happy to discuss and debate her own opinions. Looking forward to hearing from you.
