I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Malvern.

My Message: As I've been on this great site for 3 years I thought an update was in order. I now spend December, January and February in Ribeira Brava, Madeira and the remaining 9 months here in Malvern; both splendid walking centres. Nevertheless, while in England I like to get away and over the last few years have walked the SWCP from Exmouth to Poole in dribs and drabs. Thinking of a new project this year, I saw on this site that Wales is split into fourteen mountainous regions. How about climbing the highest in each region? In a relaxed way, you understand, going away for a few days at a time. Investigation showed that I'd done many of them before so I decided on the third highest of each instead. Anyone fancy joining me? Oh, I'm planning to walk the Fisherman's Trail, along the Atlantic Coast in Portugal, probably in October, as well.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 30s, based near Shrewsbury.

My Message: I am looking for a walking companion around the same age, male or female, to accompany me and my 2 border collies on a walk every now and then. My family and friends used to join me on walks, but they are all so busy it's hard to arrange a time when we are all free.
I don't enjoy really long walks, I prefer shorter walks with beautiful scenery or wildlife to look at on the way (or a nice pub at the end!)
I like discovering new and interesting walks. That's not to say I never visit the same place twice, but where possible I will find an alternative route around, to make the same walk slightly different.
I run a dog training centre near Shrewsbury which keeps me busy most days, especially at weekends. However I don't work full-time hours and usually have time off during the week. This is when I am more likely to be free for walks.
I sometimes go away for training seminars, so could potentially walk in other areas of the country if it fits in with one of my trips.
In a walking companion I am looking for an honest (but not boring), kind, optimistic person who enjoys life (in moderation), can hold their own in a conversation and can have a laugh.
If this is too much to ask then a mixture of the above would also be good!
Thanks for reading

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loughborough.

My Message: I'm looking for friends who enjoys walking and the great outdoors to join me on my adventures.

I walk between 6 and 10 miles most weekends, with shorter walks during the week.

I live in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, which has some beautiful countryside. I also enjoy walking in Wales and the Peak District, the Lakes District, Cornwall and Scotland. I also enjoy camping, bodyboarding, kayaking and other outdoor activities. I work full time during the week, but I'm willing to travel reasonable distance for weekend walks (North Wales, Peak District, etc), and further for weekends away/holidays/etc. I like to travel, so walking holidays abroad are also a possibility.

If you're interested in meeting up then please get in touch. Nick.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Coventry.

My Message: Hello my name is Mike and I live in Coventry. I am a keen walker and have walked over most parts of Warwickshire, NW Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire. My map reading skills are very sound.
I keep myself reasonably fit, by walking locally, but also playing racquet ball, three times a week.
It would be good to meet a liked minded woman, who lives fairly locally and likes walking in the countryside, who enjoys taking in the scenery, the wildlife and having a good chat and a laugh along the way.
I have a couple of mornings free during the week, which means that I am available to go walking locally during the week as well as at the weekends, for both local walks and walks further a field.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Nottingham.

My Message: Hello,

I'm 55, living north of Nottingham and now semi retired. I'm lucky enough to now only work about 3 days a week and I want to make the most of my freetime. I'm already pretty active, playing tennis, swimming and, during the summer, watching a great deal of cricket. I'm in a very happy relationship which seems to work because as well as enjoying time together we pursue our individual interests.

I'm certainly not what could be described as a serious walker. I'm just looking to explore the countryside more and hopefully meet some interesting people along the way. I love going into Derbyshire and it's very convenient for me. However I have no real restrictions on where I'm prepared to go. I have a long term ambition to walk across Ireland. I think that's probably driven by some very welcoming experiences in Irish pubs.

That's enough waffle for now.

Cheers

Tony

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brixham.

My Message: Although I enjoy walking with groups, I would love to find a male companion to walk and talk with. I particularly enjoy coastal walks. I live in Brixham in Devon, but would be happy to drive further afield to meet up. My interests, other than walking include rock, pop and blues music, the cinema, particularly low-budget and foreign films, current affairs, France and Spain and having a giggle.

I often walk with my daughter's Husky so if you would like to go for some walks and ideally you like dogs then please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Birmingham.

My Message: Hi I’m Nigel a keen dog walker, by that I mean where I go so does the dog (border collie), Snowdon, kinder, Nevis, or even Sutton park (locals will know where that is), and if it’s not safe for the dog I don’t go so the Glyders are out. I work shifts so most of my walking is done locally but try to a decent hike once a month, I.e. the peak district, Staffordshire moorlands, or wales when the days are longer. Holidays tend to be in the UK but the hillier the better. I'm looking for company to share the views and conversation (I love my dog but his conversation is a bit limited) and a maybe a pint of two at the end of the day.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Nottingham.

My Message: Hi, I'm Mark... I'm looking for walking buddies in the East Midlands area. I work full time, shifts for the emergency services so my days off vary. Most of my friends work during the week so if i'm on rest days then i'm often walking on my own... don't mind this but it would be good to find others to hook up with for a walk, pint, chin wag..... (also free some weekends) I'm very easy going, got loads of interests and a very broad humour. I walk fairly often in the peaks and have also walked in the lakes, North Yorks and Scotland. I usually follow the guides on this site although can just about read a map! I'm fairly fit and usually choose walks 12-15k, don't mind a tough walk or a nice chilled one... Hope to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Portsmouth.

My Message: Hi, my name is Dave. Having given up work to be a full time carer for my wife who had Motor Neurone Disease, I now sadly find I have a lot of spare time on my hands and would like to get back outdoors walking in company with one or more like-minded people. I am active and healthy, with interests in walking and hiking, cycling, and sailing. For now I am looking for friendship or companionship for day or weekend walking. In due course I would like to find someone for longer hiking trips, either in the UK or abroad. Used to regularly walk up to 10 - 12 miles per day in the hills, although I am very happy to do shorter and flatter walks especially initially as my legs probably need a bit of retraining.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near N.E Lincolnshire.

My Message: Looking for someone to share a walk with, most distance, pace and terrain.Have been talked into walking the Camino De Santiago across Spain for a second time 2016, having done it in 2012, so need to get out and build my fitness up again.Really I'm looking for regular walking buddies to share the experience and fun with, however if the right person literally walks into my life then that is great too.I love the outdoors and try and get out as much as possible, often with the rabid mutt,my little crazy dog. When not working, walking or dreaming,I can be found painting or crafting, so the odd visit to a art gallery, craft show or theatre/concert is also a passion for me.Love music of many genres and Love to laugh and seek the funnier things in life, also the simple things, a good sunset, open fire or even the odd night under the stars cooking with good company and good food.I have lived a life of many adventures and changes and still have more to explore, quite a gypsy heart at times, slowly settling down a little, would like to share the next adventure with someone preferably. I am pretty flexible with work, can be available most weekends and sometimes week days. Don't mind a good hard walk as a training day but do also love a steady stroll to take in the scenery and the sounds. Walking to me is many things. a time to think, a time to push myself, a time to get away from the madness of the other world, a time to be alone or most importantly a time to share with people of many paths in life.
At the moment I'm in Lincolnshire but looking at moving south next year, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall direction so heading down that way soon for a recce and maybe the odd walk or two, if anyone down that way cares to join me for a walk or has some suggestions that would be great.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cheltenham.

My Message: 50yr old male looking for anyone to walk with, male or female but preferably around my age (give or take a decade). I'm a bit out of practice since I used to go on walks with a local group a few years ago but I'm fairly confident I can keep up. I would like to get back into walking but the groups are full and don't offer the flexibility, I would prefer to choose between a Saturday or Sunday. I'm in Gloucestershire and I'm happy to travel to the surrounding counties. Any distance or pace just to get me out in the fresh air but around the 7 mile mark with a rewarding pint at the end would be ideal.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Esher.

My Message: I (Stephen) have always loved walking in the great outdoors, but not (so far!) in any particularly organised or ambitious way. Having said that, I do try to get away on a hiking holiday in the Alps every year and for that I typically handle a climb of 1000 metres in a day and distance of 20km+ without discomfort, so I must be in fairly good shape … far better shape than I have any right to expect at my age of just turned 60.

I have literally just retired and so I now have time to indulge my joy of walking more than I have been able to do while I was working. I am hoping to find someone, or even a few, like-minded to share my enjoyment with, both locally in the Surrey/home counties area and perhaps sometimes further afield … Lakes, Wales, Scotland, abroad … anywhere really.

A good part of the enjoyment for me is the companionship, so a good chat in a suitably situated pub would be a good complement to the walking and fresh air.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Birmingham.

My Message: Hi I am James (52 years) I live in Sutton Coldfield and like walking in the Peak District and the Malverns or anywhere within reason - I also enjoy cycling - I like walking and talking with different people but it would be nice to have a walking companion.

I would like to make some walking friends to do local walks and walks further away. I can get away most weekends and some days in the week. For me its more about enjoying the scenery and the company you are with. I'm happy doing walks about 10 miles or longer I have recently been up Snowdon and Brecon Beacons which I really enjoyed.

Kind Regards

James

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Churchstoke.

My Message: Hi, my name is Steve and I'm a 49 yr old single guy.
I'm based mostly on the mid Welsh borders and so am lucky enough to have relatively easy access to the mountains of Wales and mid/northern England.
I live a pretty unconventional life in which adventure travel plays a significant part. I've recently returned from a 4000 mile cycle trip of Eastern Europe, it was a blast!
I love the notion of adventure, macro or micro, an afternoon walk, a weekend camping/bivvying or full on expeditions lasting weeks or months.
I'm in the process of planning a south American cycling adventure for next year if anyone is interested.
I love to get into the mountains and wild places of Britain as much as I can and do this in my 'live - in truck' which takes me all over.
I also like to explore the myths and legends accociated with wild places.
I've walked a lot in Britain and also trekked in the Alps, the Pyrenees and Napal. I spent a month last year on my mountain bike in Iceland which was fab, apart from falling off!
So if anyone is interested in sharing adventure experiences, big or small, drop me a line and we can share ideas.
Cheers.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Pershore, Worcestershire.

My Message: Hi, I’m a totally blind walker, and I'm looking for people to go walking with who would be prepared to act as my guide. If you have a dog, or at least like dogs then all the better, as I have a lively guide dog who would love to come along sometimes.

I can usually be free to walk locally any day of the week. It would also be good to hear from people anywhere in the country who would be interested in setting up a small group for weekends away, or possibly to walk one of the national trails, either all at once or a section at a time. 8 to 12 miles a day, depending on terrain is ideal for me, although shorter walks locally are fine too of course. Dogs would be very welcome of course, as well as a sense of humour and a rucksack full of food!

Don't worry if you haven't guided anyone who is blind before - you'll soon get the hang of it. I'm a fairly experienced walker and I don't think walking with me is too stressful. (although others may disagree)

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help get my rusting knees walking again.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 20s, based near Ross-on-wye.

My Message: Hi there - my name's Alec and I'm 27yrs old. I currently live in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. I'm an avid outdoors guy looking to develop a new circle of friendship with like-minded individuals - very mature for my age. Happy to walk one-on-one or as part of a group. I'm very sociable and very much enjoy a good challenge.
I'm looking for somone to go hiking/trekking with all over the place - not going to restrict myself to one area. I like to 'get away' I must admit. Love to get out and explore and whilst I've not been camping for a while, would certainly do this with the right person/people. Happy to take on all sorts of hikes/treks - whether strenuous or moderate. Am open to travelling to meet etc and vice versa.
Am looking for mid-length / long-distance walks - 10 miles +. Am doing the Mountain Trail Challenge in Brecon Beacons on 12/09/15. Am also looking to do the 3 Peaks Challenge next year so need to increase fitness etc. Definitely enjoy good conversation and a drink at the end (or a cheeky pitstop) of a walk to socialise and get to know people better.
If you're interested in arranging something, please do get in touch. I'd love to hear from you. Cheers, Alec

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Dorset.

My Message: Hello, I am a regular walker; with friends, groups and alone. Love mini or major adventures to places near or far, travelling at a pace where you can appreciate the people, sights, smells and tastes.

Hoping to meet new hiking/travel buddies with an interest in long distance point to point walking, happy to wild camp but no Amazonian queen so also love a touch of luxury now and then. And I'm sure you will all agree that if you haven't seen a bathroom in a week 'luxury' is relative!

Mostly available at weekends, occasionally mid week. If we get along how about planning a long distance hiking adventure together? Hoping to do the John Muir Trail (USA) in 2016 but happy to consider other ideas.

My Message: Hi
I am looking for new walking friends male or female. I have many years experience having trekked abroad and bagged many British hills. And lots of british national trails as well. But equally I am happy to walk 5 miles along the river so please don't let that put you off. I like to bring my dog along when possible but it's not essential. I drive and am able to travel a reasonable distance for a nice walk. I sometimes work unsociable hours but can be free most Sundays some Saturdays and odd weekdays. I'm not averse to a local evening walk either. I have basic climbing and scrambling skills - i can belay as well. But I can't read a map to save my life! - sorry ! But am willing to learn if you are very patient.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Ps if you haven't put a pic up of yourself I won't reply a girls gotta be careful you know!

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Eye.

My Message: Hi, i'm Wendy. I am a keen walker but as the years have gone by my walking buddies have dropped out with knees, tendons and the like, leaving me walking on my own or pottering round the garden. So it's time to regroup, find one or two new genuine walking friends, and get out there again. I enjoy a wide range of walking, in any weather, and am probably most comfortable between 10-15 miles. I'll do everything from regular short day walks (with or without coffee at the end), which would need to be within an hour's drive or so from my home in Suffolk. Up to long distance hikes in the national parks and uplands. I have done the Coast to Coast (brilliant), SW Coast Path and Macmillan way, which I enjoyed so much I kept going north to join up with the Coast path.
There don't seem to be any walkers based in the East of England on this site so if you are out there, get in touch
