I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Harrow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I have been walking a couple of days a week for many years. I am now widowed and think it would be nice to have someone else to walk with on occasions, rather than walking alone or joining the large groups I usually go with.

I love the outdoors and wild places. My love of walking is reflected in my choice of holidays the last one was walking in Patagonia. I'm equally happy visiting the beautiful National Parks and other areas of Britain. At home, I stick to the lovely Chilterns eg Tring, Princes Risborough, Missenden etc and am happy to drive a reasonable distance.

Don't mind rain or mud but prefer a relaxed picnic lunch on a warm sunny day with a nice drink and chat in a country pub at the end.

My other interests are travel, art, exhibitions, Theatre and eating out with friends. I am very sociable, enjoy meeting people and I have great fun as a volunteer at the Tower of London and other locations.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've always enjoyed walking - but I'm not what you'd call a 'serious walker'. I'm energetic and I can enjoy walking quite fast - or taking a more leisurely stroll. Presently I walk alone, but not far enough or adventurously enough, because my sense of direction and map reading skills are (regrettably) zero. I'd like to learn, though - and especially to share more general thoughts, ideas and reflections about all kinds of things with another walker - exploring your slant on life - and some laughter would be good, too. I'd appreciate advice about things I could buy that would improve my enjoyment of walking (I'm thinking especially of those long, spiked poles that look very impressive and I imagine they're pretty useful, but I don't know how to choose the right ones). Ending a walk at a pub or caf' may be pleasant occasionally; weekends would be good from my viewpoint. So - moving, talking, exchanging ideas and learning: that's what I'd like. Would that be good for you, too?

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Oxford hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I enjoy walking in the countryside wherever it may be - I have tried walking with groups but find them rather noisy, scare away any wildlife and a bit like a forced march - I do quite like walking with an aim in mind - even if that is just to somewhere for lunch maybe in a nice village it would be great to meet someone to walk with and enjoy being outside together

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Wolverhampton hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi

I enjoy walking and scrambling in the UK, and simply looking for a handful of friends to enjoy some company with in the hills.

I've climbed, scrambled and walked in the UK and abroad but now I'm getting older just simply looking for someone to walk with, midlands based ideally to allow for evening meets in the summer.

I'm in Wolverhampton so many areas are fairly accessible.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Devizes hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

I have been walking for several years and would spend every day of the week doing so - if only time would allow.

Although semi-retired I still do some work which allows me free time in the week as well as some weekends.
I have walked much of beautiful Wiltshire and would love to find a walking buddy or buddies now that my best buddy has knee injuries and unable to do the miles we used to do.

I am not a hardened hiker, but love a day of 10 to 12 miles maybe with an end of the day trip to a good pub for some food and glass of wine.
I consider myself a good laugh and easy company. I no longer have my dog who was the best walking buddy but love any dog who likes to join the outing.

I'm not brilliant at maps and have been known to miss the odd path on occasions, but have always found my way home! I can battle a good rainstorm too !

One day, I would love to walk the Scottish Coast, and also,The Lake District looks fantastic with maybe a B&B stay making a good end to each day, but of course it's so much better to share the views.
I have a camper van too which can be a bonus.

I am happy to travel if it means a good days walking is on the end of it.

I really look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a happy and fun loving 53 year old woman who enjoys walking and riding a tandem. I am a good listener and enjoy both chatty walks and peaceful times in the countryside.
Unusually I am a visually impaired walker who needs to be guided but not supported to walk confidently, so I am looking for kind men and women who are happy for me to gently hold their arm.
Wwalking companions who are not too far away would be ideal, although I am happy to travel by train to meet for walks.
I have regularly been walking 6-10 miles at the weekend until two months ago. I go to the gym four times a week and swim to keep fit. I used to enjoy looking at wild flowers and birds when walking but this is more limited now. A good pub at the end of a walk is always welcome!

I hope to meet a companion for regular walks and possibly walking holidays in the future, in the UK and abroad. I work so I am only free to walk on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and when on holidays from work.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Weymouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Leo. I'm single and retired with no commitments, so free to walk anytime.

I was brought up in Dorset, and walking the hills and coast path is something I've enjoyed since childhood. I don't consider myself a dedicated walker, so I am very happy to combine walking with some exploration, sight seeing and of course, lunch or coffee.

I would like to meet similar minded men or women who like the outdoors and nature but perhaps would also like to share other interests. Mine include the sea, travel, art, theatre, tennis(beginner) and raquetball. I'm fairly easy going and enjoy new places and experiences.

Finding new friends local to me would be great for regular walks, but I also like to go on walking holidays in the UK or abroad.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Dumfriesshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I have just turned 40 this year, I am married with 3 kids. I love being active outdoors. I have climbed 25 munros so far and looking for other people to hike with rather than doing the harder climbs on my own as my navigation skills aren't the best! Happy to drive long distances in search of the perfect adventure trip. Nothing better than the achievement of getting to the top of a mountain and then camping watching the sunset with a drink in hand afterwards! If your female and also looking for some company on your next small or big walking/hiking trip adventure drop me a message.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre. I'm all but vegan ( you don't have to be) and a reasonable cook though do enjoy dining out too. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Oakham, Rutland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone, I would love to meet up with other people to walk - virtually anywhere. I particularly love hill-walking (Scotland, Lakes and Snowdonia my favourite) and have bagged some 3000fters, but am keen to walk anywhere. Friends and family are just not hikers. Even my dog is ageing so much that a short walk around the park will satisfy him (he stays at home/in the car when I walk).

I love camping, hiking in beautiful scenery, and would love some company. I have a car and am happy to travel, although of course if you are closer to me meeting up for a day hike will be easier. With a busy work schedule, I am generally a weekend walker but will take time off when I get a walking opportunity that is too good to miss.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Reading hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am retired and do love walking. My wife is not so keen as I am,so I am looking for a walking companion,either male or female. I tend to go locally but can go further afield.I am reasonably fit for my age and I do like to stop and admire the scenery or take some photos. I am interested in swimming.Also cycling...but this tends to be locally following the Thames path and away from traffic. I also like wild swimming normally in the Thames but it could be anywhere. I love visiting Spain and speak tolerable Spanish. I have a few grandchildren which is great.I tried camping in Wales with an outdoor group I belong to and loved it.I know most of the walks within 45 minutes drive from here,so it would be nice to try new areas

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Wirral hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm an adventurous hiker, walking long distances but also chill out shorter strolls in North Wales, Peak District and Lake District. I'm wishing to meet a female walker friend maybe more who enjoys long walks and which we can enjoy the beautiful countryside and mountains of Britain. I'm currently after Marilyn's in the UK, walking usually on weekends but have a week in the Lake District coming up in late September. If you would like a week of walking please contact me.

I'm active away from walking being a keen cyclist, I enjoy history and visiting places of interest. I'm very fit, having long legs means I cover distances quicker than most but also love a good scramble and prefer clear weather as I enjoy the views from a good summit.

I've climbed Mt Snowdon, Carnedd Llewelyn, Pen yr Ole Wen, hills of Church Stratton Shropshire and hope to doing some long walks in Lake District September 2019. Some female company would be preferred so we both can enjoy some stunning scenery.

If interested please message me. I'm a keen walker who enjoys the outdoors and would like to share it with someone.

My Message: Hiya My name is Chris,
Looking forward to meeting fellow walkers for some every day fresh air and company. I am a bubbly chatty out going kind of person who enjoys the simple things in life. Love being outdoors walking and meeting new people.
I am looking to hopefully walk quite local but am also willing to travel as long as not too far. I enjoy time away for walking if further afield.
I am only looking for company as I have a partner of 35 years pus but he is not interested in walking.
Unfortunately I am unable to map read but I have a good sence of direction and I do know a lot of walks in different places ( can't promise I wont get anyone lost though )
Hope to meet likeminded people who also would like to walk be it in a group or just a small number.

A bit more about me:

I love Scrambling & Edges - the more exposure the better. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Mountain Biking
  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near London Ontario Canada hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello fellow walkers. I am a 70+ year old Canadian female who visits the UK yearly. I hope to visit fall 2019 and am open to finding walking companions in the Lake District, Yorkshire, central and southwest England. I am not up for steep elevations but more leisurely climbs are OK. About Me: When not out and about I knit, cook, read, putter in my garden, lunch with friends, visit art galleries/museums and travel. I hope to meet for good exercise, conversation and social times as I love to end my walks at a pub or cafe. Get in touch if you have an interest in joining me.

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Hereford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking for a walking friend who may be retired like myself so that he or she is free to walk during the week as well as at weekends. I walk regularly with a number of groups but prefer to walk at my own pace so that I can stop, take photographs and admire views without being left half a mile behind.
Currently my walking tends to be in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Powys, Monmouthshire, Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons. I really enjoy multi-day linear walking and have done the Pennine Way, Wainwright Coast to Coast, Offa's Dyke, West Highland Way, Cotswold Way and Worcestershire Way. This year I will be walking the Cleveland Way with a Derbyshire based friend.
Although my map reading skills are not brilliant I am proficient with satnavs and always carry a paper map and compass.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello is anyone free to join myself and my dog Cocoa, for hikes at the weekends. I have travelled to hike fairly extensively all over the UK national parks and to mention a few places; have visited Snowdonia, Isle of Skye; Peak District; Cotswolds and parts of Hadrian's Wall. Favourite places are definitely the Lakes and Cairngorms. I would say I am of average fitness and tend to walk fairly slowly but do like to be out all day so roughly aim for about 10 miles a day regardless of terrain. I like to bag 2/3 summits at a time if possible. Definitely want to see what Torridon is like but it's a long way to drive on my own and I hope to visit the Alps and Pyrenees as well as the rest of the world to hike or cycle in the future. i love the adventures with my pup but it would be great to find some company who I can actually hold a conversation with!

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Kent hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

I am active and fully fit enjoying a variety of activities. I enjoy varied walks from relaxed countryside walks to something a lot more challenging. Part of enjoying walks for me is good company. I am happy to enjoy a drink or meal afterwards and would consider multi day trips. Prefer mid-week although I could do weekend walks. I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Matlock hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Adrian, single, retired, fit, and keen to meet an active fit female walking companion to explore our beautiful islands, and further afield. I have a camper van to tour and also to use as a mobile base for circular and linear walks, perhaps on long distance national trails. I enjoy all types of walks both short and full day walks and long distance. I have completed a number of classic long distance paths including The Pennine Way and Wainwrights Coast to Coast, but I'm not against doing these again if my companion wished to do them. Not so good on heights these days so I avoid walking on high level narrow ledges. I am a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, non competitive nature, passionate about our natural world, fun loving, often quirky. Other interests include camping, cycling, casual nature walks, am NT and RSPB member, conservation volunteering, reading, eclectic taste in music, art cinema, theatre, the arts, wildlife gardening and DIY. Am politically a bit of a lefty. If any of this appeals, please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Saffron Walden hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Mid-40s professional bloke, fairly straight forward, looking for company for walks. I live in Essex, work in Cambridge and grew up in Northumbria. Happy to walk for a short walk round a park but i dream of treks across hills and moors.

After a life change last year, i have a bit more time in my life to do what i like to do which is being outdoors. I have re-freshed my camping and walking kit, and i'm getting some miles in. Looking for company, either locally for regular walks, or a bit further afield for longer ones.

PS i had a bicycle crash 6 months ago and broke a kneecap (ouch), i'm still building strength but i reckon i could handle up to 10 miles max now and further in 6 months time. (i'm a strider not a stroller)
