I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near South London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi There, I'm looking to meet new people/friends to go on some nice walks or camping/kayaking adventures with in the UK or abroad. I live in London but grew up in the country and I'm struggling to find people that love the outdoors and escaping the city as much as I do, or that don't have other responsibilities. I am happy hiking all day or multi day hikes, I also love a bit of kayaking, bouldering, pretty much anything that burns a bit of energy and I am more than happy to drive wherever for a nice walk and chat. If you fancy a walk or a little adventure I would love to hear from you!

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North West England; The English Midlands; Wales; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brighton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: White male aged 66, 40 years walking experience, living in Sussex, fit and friendly seeks to meet an adventurous male or woman walking companion aged about 40+ for walking local and national trails together in the UK and in Europe. Any individual willing to explore the hidden and interesting bye ways of Britain, if warm sleep out during the summer and enjoy a few beers at the end of a days challenging walking, before England and Wales become so sanitized it will look like a theme park( see George Monbiot).

Probably suitable for someone living in London or the South-East but, but if practicable, I would not exclude other contacts from around the country. Most important is the love of the countryside, coastal paths and Highlands of Scotland, quiet places and friendly conversation.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Road Cycling

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Burntwood.

My Message: Hi Ive been a member of this site for sometime and am just returning to it from a long absence.
I particularly enjoy walking and camping in the Peak District and the Brecon Beacons.
I was in the military for a long time so enjoy all levels of gradient and am up for a challenge, most of the time.
I love to take my dogs with me when I walk although the border terrier (Laughing Gravy) is getting a little old now.
I'm out of the UK a lot and so finding friends to walk with can be difficult.
I hope that I can arrange meets with similar minded people for long mountainous walks and strolls.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Alfreton.

My Message: Hi fellow walkers, living in North East Derbyshire gives me easy access to the Peak District and Wales, Northumberland and the Lakes are 3-4 hours away and need a lot more exploration. The closer I am to water, the better. I am happy to walk 10-15miles (and have done 22 by accident, a longer story...), scrambling is not my forte (fear of heights...I know) but standing on top of a hill feels so good. Could you help me with my map reading? I don't get lost, I just find new places in unexpected ways and it may take a bit longer to get back home but those walks turn out to be the best. That's the adventurer in me. This adventurer has a tent in the car just in case, sets off for France without a fixed plan or goes out on the motorbike to see what's round the next corner. Once I sit down I read, write, play Scrabble and enjoy the views over the open countryside from the patio. Outdoors is a good place and I'd love to hear from you if you want to share it. I have joined a couple of walking groups and they are very welcoming but not all walks have to be with a bunch of people. If you want to join me solo or with the bunch please get in touch and let's see where it takes us.
Safe walking, Karen

My Message: Hi
I am 62,female and looking for walking companions or groups. My level of walking is up to about grades 7/8.

This year have done Annapurna base camp, toubkal Morocco, picos dos europas, and Everest base camp 2 weeks ago.Love the Himalayas. South America and others await.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Bourne.

My Message: Hi, Female walker looking to meet up with male/female kindred spirit. Reasonably experienced and fit I can walk week ends and midweek. Although the Peak district is nearest to me I am willing to travel to new walks in different areas. An inspiring, energetic hike, whether in the hills or following local footpaths with a packed lunch followed by a pub meal is a day well spent, and better shared. So if you're local or further a field and think we may get along, I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Kendal.

My Message: Hi there,
My name is Mark and I live in the south Lake District. I moved here just over 9 years ago from Nottingham after coming on holiday. I fell in love with the hills and the beautiful scenery and wanted to spend the rest of my life here.
I am a very keen walker and have climbed about half of the Wainwrights, Ben Nevis, Snowdon etc and a few in Austria.
I just love the outdoors in almost any weather conditions and I'm quite good at compass/map reading. I have walked alone quite a lot recently due to family issues and I would now like to share the mountains with other like minded people. It would be great to spend a day scaling a high peak then spending an afternoon with good food and good company.
Feel free to get in touch if this sounds good to you.
Thanks.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Aylesbury.

My Message: Hello,

I am retired and single with plenty of time to indulge my love of walking. I walk sometimes alone and sometimes with local walking groups. I would very much like to expand on that by finding a new friend or friends to walk with on a one to one basis. I live in Aylesbury so the Chilterns are on my doorstep but I am more than happy to try other areas. Recent walking holidays were in Wales and Yorkshire and I was born and raised near the Lake District.

I am more interested in spending time in the outdoors, stopping to enjoy the views and ending in a pub, than in ticking off particular challenges. A typical walk for me would be between 6 and 12 miles. More than that on a good day!

If that sounds good to you drop me a line and we can take it from there.

Brian

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Lowestoft And Weymouth.

My Message: Newly retired and desperate to get out and see more of the country, I love travel and get away when I can but a little local knowledge is always welcome to find the best walks. I love dramatic scenery and there's not a lot in Suffolk, I have a little campervan which is a bit basic but I'm an expert camper, as I spend most of my time away out walking it suits me fine and gives me freedom, my family mostly live in Dorset and I am there quite often, I've just returned from walking round the Lizard Peninsular which was great

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Hinckley, Leics.

My Message: Hi, my names Paul and I'm looking for someone who is adventurous, fun and would like to go on short or long hikes. Short country walks to a country pub for food and drinks are as much my cup of tea as are the more challenging long distance trails.
I like taking photos and chatting with strangers along the way, generally having a laugh and enjoying the great outdoors. I'm currently trying my hand at landscape water colour painting if you can give me some tips? In return I can safely navigate you from A-B without fear of getting lost!
I can go walking almost any day of the week as my work is flexible, although I have to work a lot of weekend dates so weekdays would be best.
The Peak District is a big favourite of mine because it's close to home but love the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes, but would walk anywhere new and interesting. Would be interested in walking in Italy as I've just got the guide books and it looks amazing!
So if you'd like to have your own sherpa, tour guide and some fun along the way drop me a line

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Ledbury.

My Message: Hi,
I'm Colin, and there is so much of the three counties (Hereford / Worcester / Glos) countryside waiting to be found and savoured, that I just know that without a companion to set some days with, they'll remain unexplored.
So I'm relying on some like minded soul to help me to rescue my best intentions and enjoy a gentle countryside walk or even a ramble over the Beacons.
And me?
Well, I continue to work in the forest world and won't see 70 again, but this is no deterrent as I keep fit by cycling, playing tennis & badminton plus a enjoyment of orienteering. My ever (mostly) patient wife of some 37 years sadly does not share my enthusiasm for stretching the joints, but is quite relaxed about finding a companion - a situation which has worked well in the past.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 20s, based near Neston.

My Message: Hi I'm Ross, I'm 29 and based on the Wirral.

I get out walking most weeks (mainly weekdays) and mainly in Snowdonia or The Peak District currently but interested in venturing further afield to The Lake District when time allows. I'm looking for someone to share this great hobby and my experiences with (male or female) and for a bit of company on the hills/mountains. I'm happy with any sort of level, however tend to go a bit mad some days and leave myself a bit fragile for a few days afterwards. Like to bag a few peaks and summits on my days out rather than rack up distance.
