I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Colchester hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I love the outdoors, nature, birdwatching and walking. I'm a bit of an eco warrior and try to contribute to conservation in my own small way. I am pretty fit and sometimes have too much energy for my own good. I jog a few miles each week, I'm on a fitness program at a gym and I do Pilates. I also like swimming but only really in the sea or in open water. I have a little Romahome campervan and I spent a lot of time away in it this summer. I'd like to meet a like-minded gentleman who enjoys a walk and good conversation. If you like to dive into a tea shop at the end of a walk, that's even better! I'm happy with about 7 miles a day. Over 10 miles is a bit far - but that's not to say I would rule longer distances out. My other interests are art and visiting galleries, volunteering for my local wildlife trust, beekeeping and lots of other things, too many to list here.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; South East England;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Road Cycling
  • Open Water Swimming

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

My Message: I'm an adventurous hiker, walking long distances but also chill out shorter strolls in North Wales, Peak District and Lake District. I'm wishing to meet a female walker friend maybe more who enjoys long walks and which we can enjoy the beautiful countryside and mountains of Britain. I'm currently after Marilyn's in the UK, walking usually on weekends but have a week in the Lake District coming up in late September. If you would like a week of walking please contact me.

I'm active away from walking being a keen cyclist, I enjoy history and visiting places of interest. I'm very fit, having long legs means I cover distances quicker than most but also love a good scramble and prefer clear weather as I enjoy the views from a good summit.

I've climbed Mt Snowdon, Carnedd Llewelyn, Pen yr Ole Wen, hills of Church Stratton Shropshire and hope to doing some long walks in Lake District September 2019. Some female company would be preferred so we both can enjoy some stunning scenery.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Lincoln Ln2 hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Yvonne I'm 58 and I'm at my most content when walking. I have a 5 year old obedient golden lab called Billie Piper and a nervous rescue dog (collie cross) called Jessica - she's from Romania. Ordinarily we like to take a "decent walk" at week-ends and enjoy the great outdoors (a pub en-route is always a bonus). We often walk around the local Hartsholme Country Park but also enjoy the Wolds and further afield.
I had surgery on my ankle August 2019 so it will be while until I can walk long distance (probably Spring 2020) but I'm already walking a short distance daily - just locally
Would love some company; I like chatting as well as silence.
I look forward to hearing from you...

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Barnoldswick hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker, now retired so have more time to get out and about. I walk quite regularly with friends but as they are still working this is confined largely to weekends. We've enjoyed tackling many of the long distance paths over the years. I walk a lot on my own too or, until very recently, with my dog who has now sadly passed away, but would like to meet a like-minded walking buddy, preferably reasonably nearby. It would be good perhaps to share some Wainwright bagging or explore new areas more or less anywhere in the British Isles or even beyond. There are so many places I still want to see and it would be great to do so in good company. I'd love to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bridgend hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

I am a 59 year old male living near Bridgend. I am a keen walker and so enjoy the Great Outdoors. I am looking for a female walking partner who also admires the beauty of our wonderful countryside. I have walked extensively all over the UK and have been on a few European walking holidays too. I enjoy walking on all terrains and in all weathers as I like to be outdoors. I work part time and gig on the weekends with a duo. I teach guitar but have only a handful of students so am pretty flexible regarding walk availability. As to weekends I don't leave until 7pm to go on gigs so as long as we start in the morning it'll be fine. I have my own car and can meet where convenient. I do not drink or smoke and I enjoy the odd run during the week.

Regards,

Al

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near West Kirby hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've just got back into walking recently and quite often go walking with a male friend but I do miss the chemistry a female companion can bring.

In the past I have walked chunks of the Pennine Way and Offa's Dyke path and also in the Alps and the Pyrenees. In recent times I've started walking again in the Clwydians and the Marches areas but also closer to home on the Wirral. I'm doing walks of around 10 miles at the moment and quite happy with that or a shorter walk.

I have a very quirky cheeky sense of humour and love to make a girl laugh. I like doing lots of other things- cooking, football mad, astronomy, bird watching and love a decent box set. I do need someone to give me a bit of a motivational push though sometimes !

My ideal walking partner would have a good sense of humour and be patient if we got lost. A lady who enjoys the outdoors but enjoys the journey rather than seeing a walk as merely a physical challenge. A warm affectionate type with a good heart. No smokers or heavy drinkers thanks !

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Hereford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking for a walking friend who may be retired like myself so that he or she is free to walk during the week as well as at weekends. I walk regularly with a number of groups but prefer to walk at my own pace so that I can stop, take photographs and admire views without being left half a mile behind.
Currently my walking tends to be in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Powys, Monmouthshire, Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons. I really enjoy multi-day linear walking and have done the Pennine Way, Wainwright Coast to Coast, Offa's Dyke, West Highland Way, Cotswold Way and Worcestershire Way. This year I will be walking the Cleveland Way with a Derbyshire based friend.
Although my map reading skills are not brilliant I am proficient with satnavs and always carry a paper map and compass.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Matlock hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Adrian, single, retired, fit, and keen to meet an active fit female walking companion to explore our beautiful islands, and further afield. I have a camper van to tour and also to use as a mobile base for circular and linear walks, perhaps on long distance national trails. I enjoy all types of walks both short and full day walks and long distance. I have completed a number of classic long distance paths including The Pennine Way and Wainwrights Coast to Coast, but I'm not against doing these again if my companion wished to do them. Not so good on heights these days so I avoid walking on high level narrow ledges. I am a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, non competitive nature, passionate about our natural world, fun loving, often quirky. Other interests include camping, cycling, casual nature walks, am NT and RSPB member, conservation volunteering, reading, eclectic taste in music, art cinema, theatre, the arts, wildlife gardening and DIY. Am politically a bit of a lefty. If any of this appeals, please get in touch.

My Message: I`m a 55 year old female (physically but mentally somewhat younger!) looking for a walking buddy in Herefordshire. I enjoy walks in the Black Mountains, Brecons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. At the moment I can only do weekends but after the end of March will have some weekdays free too. I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Buxton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi there!
New Years Resolution - more walking! I like to get out at least one day of the weekend, for a full days walk if possible. My average walk is around 10 miles, but happy to go for less or more depending on season and conditions. Would like to do a distance path this summer, maybe the Anglesey Coastal Path or the Dales Way. Have previously walked the Great Glen Way and sections of the Coast to Coast and Peninne Way...lets see where the path takes us!

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Aldershot hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. My name is Viv, I am 50 and live in Aldershot, Hampshire. I am a photographer, a keen walker and hillwalker. I am looking for a lady to join me on some adventures. I have done a little bit of mountaineering (with a good friend who is a trained mountain guide) in Switzerland and in Snowdonia - I am very new to that. I have walked for years though in Snowdonia, The Lakes, Isle of Skye, and locally where I live near Surrey. I do not have navigation skills so looking for a lady to join me who does and is willing to go on some walking and photography adventures into the wild. I love Snowdonia and have been to the summit twice now with other attempts. I'm not the fittest person but very determined and willing to push myself.
I am a very friendly and happy go lucky person, I am also a busy mum, wife, photographer and therapist too - so walking helps me unwind and refresh.
Please do contact me if you live in or near NE Hampshire and would like to link up and go on some walking adventures.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West England; Wales;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Sheffield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Lost my long term walking partner to a boyfriend, now I am looking for people/person to walk with. I previously loved walks in the Lakes or Snowdonia with a stayover at a pub and a beer. It would be fab to meet people to do things like that with. Also interested in challenges (did Everest Base Camp this year) and would love to go to Ben Nevis, Skye and other exciting places.

Equally happy to meet people just to go for a walk.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Northamptonshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, UPDATE - would anyone like to walk together up Ben Nevis on Monday 3rd September 2018? Very last minute idea. Would like to walk the tourist path. Not confident enough to tackle alone due to lack of navigation skills. Mountain forecast for Monday seems fine. Pls message me if interested!

Hello, I am single, currently living in the Northamptonshire area and would like to meet male or female walking partners to explore more of the UK. Have been a member of this site for a few years but returning to it after an absence. I am open to suggestions and able to travel.I have done a fair amount of walking in far flung places abroad and some here in the UK (Snowdon and Peak District), reasonably fit, can do a bit of scrambling but am not a climber. Am open to BandBs, hostels or possibly camping, though I am not an experienced camper and don't yet have equipment! My map and navigation skills are not good, so would welcome someone with these skills so we don't get hopelessly lost. I am easy going and enjoy cafe's/coffee shops and a country pub but am not a big drinker.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South West England;

My Message: Hi I'm Sarah and I love walking. My main stomping ground being Dartmoor,and the coast path. I usually walk alone. I'm looking for someone to walk with, to venture into the more remote areas of Dartmoor with.
This year I've started walking long distance paths. Recently completing the west highland way. I fell in love with Scotland and can't wait to return. Would love to complete the tgo challenge but lack the skills and experience.
I love wild camping on Dartmoor but unfortunately at the moment work gets in the way of that.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Newbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I'm a fun-loving, adventurous guy living in Newbury, Berkshire. I'm happy walking alone, but it's so much more fun (and better conversation) with two so I'm looking for male or female friends to join me on walks locally (around Berks/Hants/Wilts) or further afield (anywhere really - from Cornwall to Scotland, Snowdonia to Norfolk).

I also enjoy scrambling (tho' not great with heights), cycling (more off-road than on), camping (wild or civilised), flying kites - I'm essentially very adaptable! I'm happy to explore any areas of the UK - the wilder the better - so if you're interested in joining me then please drop me a line.

ps: I love dogs and have my own, but he's not great with distances so tends to stay at home mostly, unless it's a short walk and my company likes dogs.
