I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Llanfyllin, hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm Dan 69 years old, semi retired and looking for a walking friend,
Have a P.L.B. but they do not make very good walking companions, I do any kind of walks from short walks published by the R.S.P.B.and other organisations, or cut out of magazines by friends, to 8 to 10 mile circular walks, I don't do national trails or peak bagging,
I like remote mountain walks and moorland walks, I use off the peg circular walks mostly, but like to plan and research my own walks as well, I like to follow rivers across open moorland to their source My other interests are driving on mountain passes, train trips and visiting museums,.
Dan.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Road Cycling

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm in my early 60's, reasonably fit and active, I play squash and go running a couple of times a week.I love my job as a nurse/counsellor and when I have free time I like to be outdoors. I'm as happy on long walks as I am climbing a mountain,or on the coastline. I'm not competitive these days but still want to feel a sense of achievement and stretch myself.I've explored many areas in the UK. Last year I did the Welsh 3 peaks ( over several days) with my daughter. A couple of years ago I discovered Bulgaria with some friends and am going back this year to do some walks in the Piril range.I'm looking to meet new people, for new experiences, good conversation, fun and friendship.

Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Shrewsbury, Shropshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi Folks
I've recently rediscovered my love of hiking and camping after years of neglect - one small positive to come out of Covid....I'm looking for some walking buddies to help push, drag and cagole me back to where I was years ago!

I've had to cancel treks to Everest Base Camp twice due to different reasons - fancy trekking in Nepal?

Fairly relaxed about venue although Wales and Peak District closest and no real aspirations apart from EBC sometime. Only relevant hobbies are running (Coach with a running club) and photography. 🙂

Be nice to hear from you.
Best wishes
Glenn

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've always loved walking but running became my sport for a large part of my life. Due to injury a couple of years ago, I'm now back walking as my main source of fitness.
I work full time during the week but try to do about an hour or two of walking most days, and I enjoy the occasional longer walk at the weekends. I'm hoping to meet someone to share my walks with, whether that be for a local evening stroll or a weekend walk up Snowdon. I borrow my friends' dogs as company on many an occasion, but having someone I can have a conversation and a bit of a laugh with is much more preferable. I've also done a bit of geo-caching, which is much more fun with the right companion. Most recently, I've walked the Maelor Way (a section at a time) and I'm part way through the Sandstone Trail. The highest mountain I've climbed is probably Tryfan. The company is more important than the challenge these days. I do have friends I can drag along, but it often involves being the third wheel... I should mention I have been told on many occasions that I walk quite fast!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stoke On Trent hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm a recently retired 61 year old living in the Staffordshire Moorlands. I moved here when I retired as I enjoy walking in the Peak District so much but also enjoy walking in other areas. Location isn't too important as I am prepared to travel to meet for a walk.

I am fit and competent and enjoy a challenging walk or an easy walk and I like to take in the views whichever. I am open to any level of walk as it's sometimes good to just get out and it's always good to find a good pub or cafe at the end. As well as walking I also enjoy running and cycling although I can just enjoy being outdoors watching and listening. It's the simple things in life that appeal to me most.

As much as I enjoy the outdoors it is by no means everything to me. I enjoy listening to a lot of music having a very broad taste and especially like live music but not in big venues. I also enjoy cinema and theatre or just having a chat in a café or pub with friends.

It would be great to share the outdoors and other things with a like minded woman though I have a very inquisitive mind and I'd be more than happy to be introduced to new interests.

My boring details are I'm single with no children or any other ties. I'm 5'8" and slim/average build.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Ruthin hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I like walking for fitness and relaxation in the beautiful countryside of North Wales. I would like to meet a walk buddy/new friend and to be honest this is also because now I'm a pensioner my family get a bit stressed when I head off around Brenig in case I end up in a ditch and nobody knows I'm there. Ideally I'd like to walk mid-week as most of my friends are still working so I'm busy socially (in that previous non-Covid world that is) at weekends.
I've looked at Ramblers or other groups but I'd prefer to walk just with a buddy who also likes to walk at a reasonable pace. Alwen lake takes me 2 hours or Brenig 3 hours so a reasonable pace for me means 5+ km per hour on mixed terrain.
Because I'm walking for fitness I prefer to stay local rather than spend hours in the car.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Powys hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I bought a book with a route from Penmaenmawr to Swansea Bay when I was 25, 26 years later I've yet to walk one part of that route. I've bought a few more books since then with the pages well thumbed but not put into action. I'm looking for walking groups, triples, couples, singles even stray pet dogs who fancy a slog, hike or stroll anywhere in North, Mid or South Wales. Happy with wild camping or tame pubs, just get me out please! (The lack of a photo doesn't mean I'm weird looking, just the webpage not working properly)

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Hereford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live on Herefordshire and enjoy the outdoors. Walking gives me a sense of freedom and takes me away from all the noisy stimulus and brashness of every day life. Being in nature feeds my soul. I've done short and long distance (Camino de Santiago) walks and want to do many more. Happy to walk in most weather's providing I have the right hear. Map reading skills are averages and I work on the principle that getting lost is just a chance to re-orientate myself.
I'm happy to walk alone and quite adventurous in that regard. However, some times it would be nice to share the view and adventures with someone else and walk places I haven't been.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near North Wales hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Rob, I'm 38 and I like walking in North Wales but don't mind venturing further afield. I'm looking for new friends to go walking / camping with. I'm not currently looking for a relationship but I enjoy female company as long as you don't want to talk about football as I can't stand the game. I get on with people of all ages. I'm reasonably fit and up for pretty much any kind of walk. I've done Ben Nevis, Snowdon etc. so no problem with big mountains and climbed 3 volcanos a couple of years back. I work all week so weekends are better, however, I can wangle some time off in the week as I work for myself. I'm planning on doing Everest base camp next year, so need to get some miles in ;)

Any questions, just ask

My Message: Hi.. great website! I have enjoyed hill walking since my childhood - It gives me a sense of freedom, space and challenge. I feel that it helps me refuel my inner strength to deal with anything during the working week. I moved up to Bishop Auckland in 2010 because of my love of the scenery. I walked the Pennine Way 30+ years ago and always enjoy revisiting bits of it. More recently I've completed the Dales Way, WHW, Great Glen Way, Dava Way,C2C,Offa's Dyke Path & Isaac's Tea Trail and hope to complete Hadrian's Wall Path 2020. I enjoy regular walking in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands, the Borders and Northumberland with a fantastic local fell walking club and am free many weekends and during the school holiday times.I am a musician who teaches in County Durham schools and at the Sage Gateshead. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy 2020!! Andy

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Wallasey hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Dave and I live on the Wirral and generally walk in North Wales, the Northern fells (Yorkshire & Cumbria) and Scotland. I completed the Munros a few years ago and am slowly working my way through some other hill lists. I head up to Scotland regularly and am keen on exploring the many Scottish islands.

Happy to do low level walks, but prefer to gain some height for the views and exercise. Fairly fit and like to keep a steady pace, stopping to look at the scenery and wildlife. I do a lot of driving so don't mind traveling to meet up for walks.

Retired so can walk on any day of the week especially if the weather is good, but do spend some time on other hobbies like DIY, cooking and rock climbing.

Good sense of direction and generally can navigate reliably.
Easy going with a sense of humour and enjoy conversation. Like to visit a pub afterwards for a drink. If you are interesting in joining me then please get in touch.

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Crewe hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Greetings fellow walkers *waves*
I got into walking proper about 6 years ago and never looked back! I generally walk at the weekends unless I have time off work, when I'll fit in walks more frequently, and prefer the less well known walks, loving paths that aren't so obvious on the ground.
I go to the gym a couple of times a week and I'm pretty fit so I like a nicely paced walk but also stop to look back frequently (amazing how many people miss fantastic views by not doing this) and to take photographs … I like to blog about my walks if I find them particularly interesting. Not sure many people read the blog but I find it fun to do.
I walked the Sandstone Trail a couple of years ago … 3 days walking with a couple of sleep overs at pubs. That was fun and I'd like to do similar again, probably on sections of the Coast to Coast or the Welsh Coastal Path for starters.
I visit Wales and Cumbria at least once a year so plan walks for when I go. My most walked areas are the Snowdonia National Park, the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales. Cheshire also has some nice walks and it's not quite as flat as people would have you believe!
Be warned, I do like to chat and I have a dry sense of humour … so I will either be fun to walk with or seriously annoying depending on your outlook!
Safe walking everybody.

P.S. For the avoidance of confusion seeing as I'm looking for male & female walking companions but open for relationships should the circumstances arise, I am heterosexual so sorry guys!

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Midlands hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Being sat at a desk most days I'm keen to get outside and enjoy the amazing scenery we have in our beautiful country. Initially day walks to improve my fitness. I work part time and do have a day off midweek so would love to get out enjoy the company of others whilst walking.
Based in the East Midlands mid week walks ideally would be within an hours drive. Weekends further a field.
Years ago used to walk with a group but it became too big for my liking.
I love being outdoors, there's nothing better that a lovely long walk and a meal afterwards. Appreciated all the more in the current Covid climate!
As my fitness improves (It's not bad but plenty of room for improvement)I love to bag a few peaks.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am a single Mum from Chester who has recently got into walking and exploring the local Cheshire countryside every weekend and I'm looking to find new walks to try and people to share them with. I love nature, my favourite place being the beach and the occasional wild swim if allowed. Happy to travel a bit further afield, and happy to camp. I am free most weekends and regularly walk with a couple of friends who are also looking for like minded people who can share walks/experiences/conversation with.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Aberystwyth hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
I am quite a sociable person but now live in a beautiful rural spot in Mid Wales where there are lots of sheep and not so many people! This brings advantages and disadvantages-so I thought popping up a message on here might be the perfect way to enjoy all the countryside advantages whilst tackling the main disadvantage head-on - ie meeting new folk :)
I have always enjoyed countryside walking and do it most days- however after an ankle injury a few years ago I can no longer do steep slopes. I work from home flexibly (even before 2020 came along!) so I could meet up most days. I have 2 affectionate and bouncy labradoodles and it would be nice to bring them along if the walk was suitable for them to be off the lead, however for cliff walks and through fields of sheep I would probably leave them at home with my teenagers.
I'm looking forward to some interesting chats :)

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Beaconsfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for new friends to explore the UK with, as I've exhausted(literally !!) my current friends, many of whom prefer short walks. During this corona lockdown I've averaged 30 miles a week - better than baking any day. My job is cabin crew, often I have 3 days off during the week with the occasional weekend. I especially love coastal walks, but am good with any terrain, just happy to be walking. I'd like to do more multi day hikes, no problem camping or staying in BnBs. I've carried a big back pack but also had it transported. I've hiked the Anna Purna Circuit and part of he Camino de Santiago, always looking for new adventures.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Plymouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker living in the South West, whilst I am comfortable walking alone, it get's boring and would love to have someone to share the experience with. Mainly I walk in the South West area, but love the mountains when I can get away. I also regularly go on Trekking holidays abroad and have done three treks in Nepal over the last 5 years (Everest Base Camp, Annapurna, and Kanchenjunga base camp). However, I am more than happy with a gentle stroll across Dartmoor as well. I am recently retired and looking forward to ticking off some 'bucketlist' walks. England Coast to Coast, South West Coast Path to name a couple in the UK, but also would love to do the Camino De Santiago. When not out walking I am a keen theatre goer and also an amateur actor. Also have a love of music.
I'm flexible when and where I can walk and have a bit of an adventurous streak so am generally up for a bit of a challenge. What I'm missing is having people to share walking with. I know there are people out there, just haven't found them yet!
