I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Sheffield.

My Message: I am specially looking for a female companion of any age who likes to walk and talk. I love good laugh. I am interested in most things and my hobbies are mostly of the all round active healthy kind, body and mind. My philosophy is 'give and take' and 'it takes two'.
Also, in school term time I like to walk weekdays between 9 and 3 preferably and not too far away from here in Sheffield i. e. Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire mostly, but not exclusively.
I work from home, mostly on the pc, so my hours are very flexible, and I am happy to have an IM chat on MSN or Yahoo or similar to get to know each other a bit first.
I look forward to hearing from you, talking to you, and hopefully 'going for a walk' together!
My laptop (and mobile phone) go with me everywhere so I check for replies wherever I am.
Matt

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Gravesend.

My Message: Hi There,

I am a 41 yr old male who has been very active all his life.

More recently, I have developed more of a love for the great outdoors, and love walking and mountain biking.

Compared to some of you out there I may appear a bit of a novice, in terms of experience anyway, but believe me, I know my limitations and love to push myself beyond them, so I am up for anything you are.

As the only people I know who do this sort of thing are a few work colleagues, who I dont want to spend all my time with, I am looking for like minded adults of a similar age group to do things with.

If this sounds like you, then contact me and we can go from there.

I am in the South East but will gladly travel

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Bolton.

My Message: Looking for a walking buddy? Perhaps we can help each other. My name's John and I'm very keen on walking. I'm 34 and live in Bolton in Lancashire. I have about twenty years' walking experience and am comfortable on various terrains from low-level walks to the mountains of the Lake District and Wales. I am physically fit and can easily walk twelve to fourteen miles per day. Swimming and cycling are two of my other interests. The only difference between you and me is that I cannot see. I am therefore looking for people to walk with who can act as my eyes. Guiding me is very much easier than you might think and I can easily explain to you how to do it, even if you've never guided a blind person before. The main things you need are an open mind and common sense. If you've got those, we should get on great! If you're interested in meeting up for a walk, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Warrington.

My Message: Iím a 40 something male based in Cheshire. I used to walk the fells in my teens but career, life and children intervened for a while. I recently decided to get myself fit - endless weekends of The X Factor, Match of the day, beer and Chinese takeaways took their toll Ė and I am now in decent shape again. I donít think Iím ready for the Olympics yet but I can put one foot in front of the other for most of the day and Iím raring to get up the higher fells and some of the big Ďuns in Snowdonia. Iíve had a few outings with friends, wife and family recently but they only want to go out when the sun is cracking the flags, there is a following wind, and the route is all downhill
Iím generally regarded as witty but quiet; intelligent but not a geek; blokish but not hung up on football. My politics are pro liberal and anti racism, but I wonít bore you with it. Iím told Iím clumsy but I have a good sense of direction: This probably means I will fall over at some point, but at least I will fall in the right direction. My main loves are my family, music and the outdoors
If youíre a bloke with a desire to spend the occasional weekend (or rare weekday) on the hills then please contact me and open negotiations.

regards,
Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Bournemouth.

My Message: I'm 42yrs old (single), with time to spare away from work. New to walking in some ways, but equally excited about exploring new spaces and places across the UK with my camera to hand. I would like to make new walking friends across the country, in particular those with an interest in photography. My last walk was to Snowdon from Anglesey, up a couple of routes and back to Anglesey; I really enjoyed it. Iím up for most things when it comes to walking, especially when it comes to meeting new people and enjoy the walk with a smile, and flask of something to warm the cockles along the way.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Taunton.

My Message: Hi, I am 43 (female, single) and live by the Quantock hills in Somerset. I enjoy walking and always intend to be a bit more adventurous and go further afield but would really like someone to walk and talk with. Otherwise I just whimp out! I have kids at home who are old enough to be left for a for a while and I even get the odd weekend free.
I am arty and spend time on my own painting; but that can drive me crazy if I don't get out and see some of the world. I think seeing it at walking pace and being able to have company en route is the best!
I don't mind what age or male or female. (Although I am single and I guess hope springs eternal, this isn't really about that!)
I am keen to see anywhere, I even like walking around cities. Mountains, hills, coast. Lets get going!!

My Message: Hi :-) I'm 33 years old and am looking for female walking buddies. I live in the West Midlands.

I'm easy to get on with and love getting to know new people. Would be nice to eventually from a group of female buddies to regularly go walking with.
I'm also up for weekend trips as well.

I havenít done much serious walking for a long time but happy to give anything a go and enjoy a challenge and just really want to get back into the countryside and have someone to go with since I find doing these things on my own pretty boring these days. Happy to go anywhere Ė short one day walks near London or longer weekends away. Would also love to find someone to do some walks with in France eventually. Particularly love coastal walks and would really like to spend some time in Pembrokeshire at some point......

I am a Female Walker, in my early 30s, based near North London.

My Message: Hi, I'm a 33 year old girl living and working in North London, dying to get back on the hills. I haven't done much except work, sleep and go to the pub (sad, I know!) over the last 8 months due to the only one of my friends to share my love of the outdoors deciding to hang up her boots.

I don't really know what level I'm at anymore (hopefully not -5) but about a year ago I did the Roraima in Venezuela with ease, which is the level I'd like to get back to.

I drive, and would be happy to go anywhere at weekends up to a few of hrs out of London fairly regularly, with occasional longer trips.

I'm a pretty easygoing gal, looking for likeminded buddy/buddies to get back out there with and possibly share a drink/meal with in a nice pub at the end of a hard day on the hills.

If I sound like someone you could share your time with, drop me a mail.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 20s, based near Telford.

My Message: Hi all. I'm training for the 3 peaks challenge, so am at the point where if I see a mountain or hill, I feel obliged to climb it. My friend count who share my enthusiasm is exactly zero. So I'm looking for anyone who's interested in getting some walking done over weekends. Ideally in Snowdonia, the Lakes or the Peak District. I have a car and I'm happy to pick up anyone interested that's en route. Single day walks, camping or BandB's. Whatever really. I'm pretty much up for anything. Age or gender not a consideration. So drop me a note and let's get something sorted.
