I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Rochdale.

My Message: I'm a quiet friendly walker and would like to meet up with any kindred spirits who love wild places. I’m out and about mainly at weekends, mostly in Lancs/West Yorkshire, Lakes, N. Wales or the Yorkshire Coast.

I work as an occasional volunteer warden for the YHA and have a great love of the Highland and Islands. I’ve also done some longish backpacking treks in Spain and Norway – solo and with friends and would like to do more. I also jointly own a small place in the mountains of southern Spain, which I enjoy pottering around.

I enjoy solo walking, but not 100% of the time. Friends are now partnered and preoccupied with raising families or have emigrated – hence this ad.

I love wildflowers, traditional pubs and music, hedgehogs, rhododendrons in spring, maple trees in autumn, starry skies and wood smoke in winter. Thanks for reading and please feel free to say ‘hello’.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near North Yorkshire.

My Message: Hello fellow walkers!
I'm looking to meet new walking friends, male or female, any age, for walks either in my local area of North Yorkshire, or further afield. The Lakes, the Peak District, and Northumberland are all within easy travelling distance. I'm 49 and I'm just getting back to fitness after an injury, so I'm really looking forward to getting out in the hills regularly again. I am a warm, friendly person, and like nothing better than walking with good company, having a chat and a laugh along the way, and a few drinks at the end of the day. My favourite walk is probably Coniston Old Man, I loved every minute of it! The views are jaw dropping, and I like the history of the area, I somehow think that its copper mining past adds, rather than detracts from the landscape. I like any kind of walking though, from snowy forest walks to coastal paths and mountains. My map reading skills are not great however, despite having done a map reading course :-) I now have a hand held gps, so I'm not wandering around in the hills come midnight! I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Farnham.

My Message: Hi, I'm a 54 year old female based near Farnham, looking for male/female company for more regular walking in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Dorest. Local walking groups are rather large and I prefer more one to one conversation, probably a faster pace too. I tend to use pre planned walks as I'm not the best map reader - happy to learn from an expert though! Available to walk at least every other weekend, and occasionally in the week, especially during summer months while the evenings are lighter. I'm reasonably fit (Gym and cycle) and happy to walk 8-10 miles or more. Love walking holidays uk or abroad, walked Hadrian's Wall two years ago. Would love to meet more liked minded people to share the beauty of uk countryside. Pub stops are equally important but I'm not adverse to the odd picnic! I look forward to hearing from you!

My Message: Hello. I am new to this having formerly been into running and gym visits to keep fit. However, I have always loved the countryside, fresh air and exploring places that seem interesting. I've decided its now time to combine the two by dipping my toe into walking. I do not think I will be into walking for walkings sake, but more the opportunity to explore what may be offered along the route. I have an interest in natural history, geology, history and architecture.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cardiff.

My Message: Hello out there, my name is Mike, I’m aged 56 and three quarters, have my own teeth and many original fittings. I’m looking for someone to share walks of all kinds but especially in the hills. I’ve been a walker for over 40 years and despite some dodgy knees and a slipped disc I can still manage a long day out, enjoy some light scrambling and I can use a map and compass. I usually walk solo but would enjoy some company now and again and at the end of the day perhaps a pie and a pint, or a cassoulet and claret, or a toastie and a cup of tea. Hopefully a walking partner will encourage me to get out more than I manage at the moment. I work full-time but can manage an occasional week day as well as weekends. I will be in the Lake District (staying near Patterdale) from 20-27 May and the Highlands (in Glen Nevis) from 10-17 June if anyone can manage it; short notice I know.

My Message: Hi I am Jules a single walker…
I live near Charnock Richard Services on the M6 (sounds lovely doesn’t it!!).

Like to do fairly strenuous walks but then happy to tootle sometimes (but my strenuous may be easy to someone else so who knows!!).
I like camping and weekends away. But I can only do every other weekend.

I am easy going and friendly (well like to think I am!!) and happy to walk in a group or with any individual. I often have a dog with me.

My Message: Hi
I am a fit, happy, easy going and healthy man who probably doesn't look much like your typical walker, looking for a lovely lady to share some of this beautiful country of ours with. I got the bug for walking again a couple of years back and do as much as I can, some nice long day walks, weekends and also a bit of wild camping during the warmer months, I enjoy planning the walks, as well as walking them and some of the places I have been to along the south cost are far too nice not to share. Not into walking groups or clubs, kind of defeats the object for me as it is so nice to be away from all that. I enjoy some good conversation /debating /laughing along the way and also a nice pub or 2 always helps. I am based in the south and know some lovely walks around the South east but am willing to travel anywhere (within reason) to share some more great days out and learn some from you. My Message: I am 43 and live near Dartford in Kent. I do have a car and am very happy to travel.

I love the great outdoors and enjoy nothing better than a walk in the countryside. I have a large circle of friends who I go away to Derbyshire and North Wales with (new friends always welcome). However as most of them now have children I miss being able to go for a long walk on a Saturday or Sunday when the sun is shining - and having a long cool beer at the end of it.
