I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near South Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Sincere, retired, down to earth professional who enjoys the outdoors and associated Wild life and nature, looking for like minded walking companions to share the beauty of our countryside. Walks up to 7-10 miles preferred, with an Al fresco packed lunch, possible pub meal on return, though not essential, Yorkshire, Peak District area to start with! I have done a fair bit of walking in my time and am a reasonable map reader, but my focus these days is more about enjoying the environment.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands;

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Burnley hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I like to mix up my walks so vary the level, length and area where I can. I'm not as fit as I used to be but have walked long distance routes in this country and explored lots of areas of mainland Spain. I don't mind walking in groups but enjoy 1:1 walking to be able to determine the pace better as I enjoy nature and going out with my camera (a fairly new hobby). I work full time so walking is usually limited to weekends but that's not to say I'm averse to meeting up during the week.
I enjoy the simple things in life like catching up with friends over a drink in the pub, a dance or two (not clubbing it - I'm a bit old for that!) and meals out. I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music, going to live events and theatre. I'm a true believer in laughter being the best medicine - second to that fresh air and the outdoors.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Glasgow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in Glasgow, with my border collie Rannoch, not far from Loch Lomond. I used to be a regular walker in my younger days and I'm looking to get back into the great outdoors but would prefer to do it with some company, so I am looking for new friends to go walking with.
In the past I did the West Highland Way three times, The Great Glen Way once. Nowadays I'm a lot slower but I find that a good thing as it means I'm out in the green stuff longer.
I'm easy going, enjoy new challenges, and always up for a laugh, life's too short to be too serious !!!
I have a wee camper van and love wandering. I like to play guitar, love nature, wildlife, taking photos, and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
If you fancy some company on a walk please get in touch.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Bishop Auckland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I have enjoyed hill walking since my childhood - It gives me a sense of freedom, space and challenge. I feel that it helps me refuel my inner strength to deal with anything during the working week. I moved up to Bishop Auckland in 2010 because of my love of the scenery. I walked the Pennine Way 30+ years ago and always enjoy revisiting bits of it. More recently I've completed the Dales Way, WHW, Great Glen Way, Dava Way,C2C,Offa's Dyke Path & Isaac's Tea Trail and hoped to complete Hadrian's Wall Path 2020 but didn't!!. In June 2021 I completed Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in 11.5hrs for Alzheimer's Society (that's me on the right of the photo). I enjoy regular walking in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands, the Borders and Northumberland with a fantastic local fell walking club (which I help run) and am free many weekends and during the school holiday times.I am a musician who teaches in County Durham schools and at the Sage Gateshead. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy 2022!! Andy

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stoke On Trent hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm a recently retired 62 year old living in the Staffordshire Moorlands. I moved here when I retired as I enjoy walking in the Peak District so much but also enjoy walking in other areas. Location isn't too important as I am prepared to travel to meet for a walk.

I am fit and competent and enjoy a challenging walk or an easy walk and I like to take in the views whichever. I am open to any level of walk as it's sometimes good to just get out and it's always good to find a good pub or cafe at the end. As well as walking I also enjoy running and cycling although I can just enjoy being outdoors watching and listening. It's the simple things in life that appeal to me most.

As much as I enjoy the outdoors it is by no means everything to me. I enjoy listening to a lot of music having a very broad taste and especially like live music but not in big venues. I also enjoy cinema and theatre or just having a chat in a café or pub with friends.

It would be great to share the outdoors and other things with a like minded woman though I have a very inquisitive mind and I'd be more than happy to be introduced to new interests.

My boring details are I'm single with no children or any other ties. I'm 5'8" and slim/average build.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live close to the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art, windsurfing, city breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Wa11 hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello to everyone, I've been a hill and mountain walker for years now. In my 60s, I am inclined to sit on a comfortable rock and watch the world go by. During a walk on a nice day. I have backed packed round the world with a friend just a few years ago and would like to do it again in the not to distant future.

I would like to meet females for new adventures. I'm happy to do any grade of walk. From half a day on the flat to a couple of days backpacking in the hills. Camping B+Bs Pubs or Hotels. I can do weekdays and weekends.

Many thanks, hope to hear from you.

My Message: Hi, long distance point to point walking is my favourite type of walking although love a weekend in the lakes or similar. Ive just does the wainwrights Coast to Coast, and previously have walked the West Highland Way and the first part of the GR5 in the alps amongst others. I do have a dog and would like to walk a bit more with him as he can do long distances but so far haven't taken him on many trips so he can stay at home if thats a deal breaker. I am going to take a sabbatical from work next year and keen to pack plenty of walking in. Some more of the GR5 next summer is at the top of the list and then the Pembrokeshire way.
I am reasonably fit - happy to walk in all weathers (although wouldn't we all prefer a bit of sunshine and blue skies !) for up to 8 or so hours a day with a pub at the end ideally!

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; South East England;

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 80s, based near Wilmslow East Cheshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I would describe myself as an out door person, I'm retired, but am never short of things to do, DIY etc, often for other people. Recently my walking partner has become my ex walking partner and has decided to hang up her boots. This leaves hopefully for me to find a new walking companion, to enjoy each others company on shortish walks.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
The English Midlands;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Bradford hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Message: Hello, I'm Roy, a young at heart fell walker looking for an easy going walking companion for walks both at home and abroad. I love the countryside so I'm not really fussed about particular areas in this country. The ones I've selected are where I walk regularly but would like to explore a little further afield and don't mind travelling to a decent walk. Abroad, my favourite walking areas are within the Mediterranean Climate regions (prefer the more reliable weather!). Not into peak bagging or route marches. Much prefer to take in the scenery, wildlife, local history and a suitable hostelry en route! I also have a wide range of other interests which include cycling, hot air ballooning, live gigs, theatre and travel. I'm also pet friendly so don't mind a canine companion coming along. Look forward to hearing from you, Roy.

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Road Cycling

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lichfield And Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm semi retired and live near Lincoln. I love the outdoors and love to spend my time walking, running and even gardening. Anything to be outside. I'm also lucky to have a narrowboat near Lichfield and enjoy chugging along the midlands canals. I do most of my walking on the Lincolnshire Wolds and in the Peak District, but would like to explore more. I have also walked in the Lakes, Wales and Scotland. My partner is not really interested in my love of walking and not that keen on cursing the canals. I do a lot of walking on my own but would enjoy a some company, ideally someone who loves being outdoors like me and who doesn't mind a bit of weather. My work pattern varies so I can be free mid week and weekends too.

My Message: Hi my name is Anne. I am in my early 60's looking for walking companions for either day/weekend/week walks. I have just retired and have a desire to do a lot more walking and/or tour the UK. I have recently bought an old campervan due to this crazy COVID world! Which will help to keep myself and others safe. I have walked the White Peak Way 90 miles a couple of times which is a lovely walk and a couple of other (flat) long distance walks. Not so keen on camping, prefer B&B, Youth Hostel or similar, what a wimp! I like to go at a steady plod...... short or longer walks. I also enjoy narrowboating with family and friends. I look forward to hearing from you...
