I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Yarm hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Colin and I enjoy exploring some of the beautiful countryside around the North-East. E.g. the Yorkshire Moors and Dales. I am looking for a walking partner to join me and, when the walk is suitable, my Golden Retriever, Dudley. I am retired so I am available most days. As my wife isn't interested in the great outdoors or walking, it's often just me and Dudley and it can be quite challenging trying to keep an eye on Dudley and follow a walk at the same time. I would appreciate a partner both for company and for a 'second pair of eyes' when following a walk. I'm very quiet, easy-going and not very adventurous so tend not to do anything risky. Please drop me a line if you are interested in joining me some time. By the way, I also enjoy a pint of beer but it must be real ale!

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Salisbury Plain hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
I like to think I'm still in my 30's but my knees tell me otherwise after a days walking..Ha! I enjoy picking up an OS Map and plotting a 12-15 mile circular walk using footpaths, bridleways etc. There are lots of lovely places waiting to be discovered and even better when your walking with someone to share them with. I'm hoping to meet someone that would like to have a walking companion who hopefully doesn't live to far from where I live, fit, young at heart, a good sense of humour and would like to join me in discovering more of this beautiful countryside. I'm available to walk most days as I have taken early retirement and although I do have commitments they can normally be juggled to suit. I also enjoy mountain biking, camping and currently converting a campervan for adventures further afield.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Coventry hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for pleasant, easy going male or female walking friends preferably located in The Midlands, but not limited to this area as I'm more than willing to travel for an adventurous day out. Someone who loves the outdoors and likes to have a gentle chat, someone who can listen as well as talk, who has a good sense of humour and who isn't averse to a bit of adventure. I love to take advantage of the lighter evenings in the Spring and Summer to walk locally (within a 20ish miles radius) during the week. I work a couple of days a week, but can fit in daytime walks on other weekdays and at weekends. Happy to discuss any possibilities. It would be great to hear from you. Best wishes and happy walking, Mo (Maureen).

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Norwich hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, John here. Hoping to meet like-minded people/person to spend a few hours, or even a few days with.
I enjoy walking in any type of environment, followed by a beer or two after a good slog. I have walked in most National Parks, and walked up a few mountains. My navigational skills are above average and I always plan the route before setting off. With some notice, I am able to reach for the walking boots almost anytime.
I am more than happy to teach navigation skills to anyone.
I have no walking ambitions, I just love to get out and enjoy the view. So, if you wish to spend a couple of hours, or longer with me, please let me know.

I love the outdoors, walking, hiking, climbing, kayaking, coasteering, gorge walking.....the list goes on!
I have a campervan that I have just converted and, as I'm self-employed, I am able to go anywhere, at any time (almost). I like to get away as much as I can.
Care to join me sometime? (Obviously when the 'rona has gone!!).
Just spent 5 days in Matlock which was great. The weather not so, but I got some good walks in. It's just a shame nobody could share the enjoyment with me.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Norwich hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
Im in my 50's - fit enough to handle a good challenge walk (done the Lyke Wake a few times) - ive also walked the Coast to Coast, and would be very happy to do it again some time - but am equally as happy gently strolling through the countryside stopping at the occasional pub:)
I enjoy walking on the North Yorkshire Moors/Coast, the Peak District and the Lake District.
I have a campervan, but am not averse to something a bit more luxurious in the way of a hotel or country inn!!

Im hoping to find a likeminded Lady Walker who would like the occasional weekend away, whatever the weather. - map reading skills useful but not essential!!! If anyone would like a quiet walking and eating getaway in North Yorkshire or the Peak District over Christmas do get in touch!!

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Birkdale hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I like to get out in the hills as often as possible but I don't go bagging Munros just to get back and tick it off a list.
I go to enjoy the beauty of our country and take my time and breath in fresh air.
I love Caledonia, the north west highlands to me are the most beautiful place on planet earth and I've traveled extensively.
I don't go climbing or in the snow and ice anymore as I have done in the past.
I don't mind it being cold and fresh though. I always go into the mountains fully prepared, map, compass, waterproofs etc. Just common sense things because anything can happen at any time.
I have done a lot of walking in Scotland but also enjoy the lakes, and the dales etc, doesn't have to be a long or high up walk, pleasurable and fun is what it's all about to me.
Would like to meet others to enjoy a good time out and about, not just on high peaks, any walk can be a good one, it's what you make of it. Finding a nice pub at the end is a bonus too.
I'm going up to the north west highlands from 15th June for two weeks and going to tackle Slioch, An Teallach, Stac Pollaidh, Suilven amongst others. Cape Wrath too.
Before that I hope to be up in the lakes most weekends depending on the weather.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Crewe hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Greetings fellow walkers *waves*
I got into walking proper about 6 years ago and never looked back! I generally walk at the weekends unless I have time off work, when I'll fit in walks more frequently, and prefer the less well known walks, loving paths that aren't so obvious on the ground.
I go to the gym a couple of times a week and I'm pretty fit so I like a nicely paced walk but also stop to look back frequently (amazing how many people miss fantastic views by not doing this) and to take photographs … I like to blog about my walks if I find them particularly interesting. Not sure many people read the blog but I find it fun to do.
I walked the Sandstone Trail a couple of years ago … 3 days walking with a couple of sleep overs at pubs. That was fun and I'd like to do similar again, probably on sections of the Coast to Coast or the Welsh Coastal Path for starters.
I visit Wales and Cumbria at least once a year so plan walks for when I go. My most walked areas are the Snowdonia National Park, the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales. Cheshire also has some nice walks and it's not quite as flat as people would have you believe!
Be warned, I do like to chat and I have a dry sense of humour … so I will either be fun to walk with or seriously annoying depending on your outlook!
Safe walking everybody.

P.S. For the avoidance of confusion seeing as I'm looking for male & female walking companions but open for relationships should the circumstances arise, I am heterosexual so sorry guys!

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Midlands hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Being sat at a desk most days I'm keen to get outside and enjoy the amazing scenery we have in our beautiful country. Initially day walks to improve my fitness. I work part time and do have a day off midweek so would love to get out enjoy the company of others whilst walking.
Based in the East Midlands mid week walks ideally would be within an hours drive. Weekends further a field.
Years ago used to walk with a group but it became too big for my liking.
I love being outdoors, there's nothing better that a lovely long walk and a meal afterwards. Appreciated all the more in the current Covid climate!
As my fitness improves (It's not bad but plenty of room for improvement)I love to bag a few peaks.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am a single Mum from Chester who has recently got into walking and exploring the local Cheshire countryside every weekend and I'm looking to find new walks to try and people to share them with. I love nature, my favourite place being the beach and the occasional wild swim if allowed. Happy to travel a bit further afield, and happy to camp. I am free most weekends and regularly walk with a couple of friends who are also looking for like minded people who can share walks/experiences/conversation with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Lincolnshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking, everything about it. What could be better than sitting down with a glass of wine and planning a walk.
Then there's the excitement of arriving at your walks starting point (usually a pub car park if it's a circular walk)
The anticipation as you lace up your boots and the adrenaline rush as you set off on your way. The endorphins kick in, you get warm, remove a layer ( i can never work out exactly the right clothes to walk in )
The scenery is beautiful, you catch a glimpse of a deer, a buzzard, a moth or a cowslip.
I often get lost ( Its not getting lost, its going on an adventure) i usually get muddy and sometimes i fall over.
Then there's the relief as your sore feet sense the end of the walk. A nice pint and a pack of crisps or nuts, maybe a meal by a fire.
These are all wonderful things, but so much more when shared with a like minded friend.
