I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near South Lakes.

My Message: I have returned from living in France
and would like to get to know this beautiful region once more and all the lovely scenery and places, that it and this country has to offer.
I don't have anyone that shares the same interest as me in walking and a love of the countryside, so hence I am looking for someone who does.
If you think you would like to join me and enjoy a cheeky drink and a bite to eat at the end of our walk,i would love to hear from you.
I haven't done much distance walking for a while now,but am keen as mustard and have some interesting tales to tell,on the way.
Best wishes.
Phil

I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a widow in my sixties and am looking for a companion for walks either at the week-end or evenings. I enjoy walking holidays and pub lunches. I am also a competitive ballroom dancer so quite fit.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I don't drive.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for a walking companion, it would be nice to share the adventures with someone else. I have done walking in the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors, Lake District and Scotland is always a favourite, but there is still plenty to see and do. Drop me line if you are interested or just wish to know more. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon.

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Kendal hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
Born and brought up in Cumbria. Back again after many years away. Travelled widely. USA, Asia, Europe. Climbed a few foreign hills as well as most in Cumbria. Now getting to know Wales and Scotland, while catching up with friends and fellow walkers. Really love the hills and mountains anywhere, but Cumbria and Dales are very local to me.

Had my ML assessment in a couple of years ago and now manage to pick up some professional walk. Being paid for what I love. What could be better!

Love to 'talk and walk' so good companion also essential and someone who is not too worried if I stop to take photos.

Reasonably read, literate, enjoy the arts and eco-friendly, if you think you would enjoy my company would love to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Thirsk hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello fellow walkers - I am looking for a female walking companion for leisurely walks in the countryside, around about about 6 miles or so in length, both in my home county of Yorkshire and further afield. I am not looking for a challenge but simply to enjoy the beauty of the countryside and the fresh air, with stops to admire the views and appreciate nature. Also enjoy coastal walks, rivers and canals. Tea and cake at a quaint teashop or even a pub meal would round off the day nicely. Definitely not a sporty individual, although I do enjoy swimming, I have varied interests including reading, the arts particularly theatre and cinema, crafts especially knitting, history and architecture, railways and vintage cars, travel both in the UK and abroad, animals especially cats. I have numerous walking books for my own area and have reasonable map reading skills. As I am now retired, I can walk on some weekdays, as well as on the weekend.

My Message: Love walking from the flats to the hills. Walked snowdon 5 times in the past. Love the Peak District as much as the forests. Don't drive but don't let it stop me... hence jump a train to go out for the day to places Long Mynd..Mam Tor...Kinder Scout. I equally enjoy the sitting and taking in the view. Looking to meet up with anyone who enjoys a stroll and loves the countryside. I have been fortunate to have been well travelled around Scotland and Wales and camping in the process. I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Matlock hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Adrian, single, retired, fit, and keen to meet an active fit female walking companion to explore our beautiful islands, and further afield. I have a camper van to tour and also to use as a mobile base for circular and linear walks, perhaps on long distance national trails. I enjoy all types of walks both short and full day walks and long distance. I have completed a number of classic long distance paths including The Pennine Way and Wainwrights Coast to Coast, but I'm not against doing these again if my companion wished to do them. Not so good on heights these days so I avoid walking on high level narrow ledges. I am a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, non competitive nature, passionate about our natural world, fun loving, often quirky. Other interests include camping, cycling, casual nature walks, am NT and RSPB member, conservation volunteering, reading, eclectic taste in music, art cinema, theatre, the arts, wildlife gardening and DIY. Am politically a bit of a lefty. If any of this appeals, please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Manchester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm David, single, 65 and just retired (summer '12), I live in east Manchester and would like to meet singles or a group to make walking more pleasurable. I'm not that experienced a walker so may have to be gradually more adventurous in my excursions, having said that my last job was very active so I need more than a gentle stroll to the pub! An active stroll to the pub, then, or a tea shop or whatever. My map reading skills are reasonable, I think, and I have a good sense of direction. Anybody reasonably local who would like to join forces with me, please get in touch. Dog owners welcome, though cats preferred!

New Years Resolution - more walking! I like to get out at least one day of the weekend, for a full days walk if possible. My average walk is around 10 miles, but happy to go for less or more depending on season and conditions. Would like to do a distance path this summer, maybe the Anglesey Coastal Path or the Dales Way. I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Amersham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm based in S Bucks but love the mountains and hills: Peaks, Dartmoor, Beacons, Shropshire hills, mid-Wales, N and S Downs. I can get to them all in no more than three hours, have a great day's walking, and home again - as long as I'm out of the car for more than I'm in it, that's OK.

If you'd like to meet for a walk in these or any other (not too flat) regions, and are looking for friendship and company, I'd love to hear from you.

I've recently (2017) taken to my tent again after many years, so a bike ride with tent (and maybe skis) turns into a splendid adventure. The Lakes, Snowdonia, and Scotland are the real draws though, especially in winter conditions. I've been up to the far NW and the W and Central Highlands for the last few years and love them. And the Alps of course, and Arctic Norway!

I like mountains and hills. I walk among them and try to ski (downhill and touring) them, and recently mountain bike through them to save my legs when getting to the more remote ones. Try imagining the peaks and valleys under a kilometre of ice shaping the Lakes or Highlands into the dramatic wild places they can be today!

Until recently, I worked right in the middle of London which was enjoyable and different; I live at the end of a Tube line with a usually-muddy field-and-woods walk to my local station.

But I've made the move (end 2015) to working from home, in my own time, so I'm freed from the weekends-only bids for the outdoors.

Oh, and my name is Robert.

In an ideal world it would be fantastic to meet some walk mates to plan some trips for in the UK or possibly overseas like Ireland, Europe, NZ, Chile.....

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Liversedge hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, Fit 71 year old retired male, I like to keep fit by cycling and walking. I walk most weeks and generally do about 10 miles, but if I am in the Dales I am happy to do 15 or so, especially if there is a nice pint at the end of it.

I love organising walks so please get in touch if you would like to join me.

I live in West Yorks so I am quite central and would be happy to travel anywhere in the North.

My main hobbies apart from walking are guitar, cycling, gardening and grandchildren.

Looking for anyone/group that shares my interest or who just loves walking. I also use Strava to record walks and rides and would be happy to follow your activities and you are welcome to follow mine.

I will respond to all emails, so please get in touch if you are interested.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Mountain Biking

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Sheffield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Lost my long term walking partner to a boyfriend, now I am looking for people/person to walk with. I previously loved walks in the Lakes or Snowdonia with a stayover at a pub and a beer. It would be fab to meet people to do things like that with. Also interested in challenges (did Everest Base Camp this year) and would love to go to Ben Nevis, Skye and other exciting places.

Equally happy to meet people just to go for a walk.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Northamptonshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, UPDATE - would anyone like to walk together up Ben Nevis on Monday 3rd September 2018? Very last minute idea. Would like to walk the tourist path. Not confident enough to tackle alone due to lack of navigation skills. Mountain forecast for Monday seems fine. Pls message me if interested!

Hello, I am single, currently living in the Northamptonshire area and would like to meet male or female walking partners to explore more of the UK. Have been a member of this site for a few years but returning to it after an absence. I am open to suggestions and able to travel.I have done a fair amount of walking in far flung places abroad and some here in the UK (Snowdon and Peak District), reasonably fit, can do a bit of scrambling but am not a climber. Am open to BandBs, hostels or possibly camping, though I am not an experienced camper and don't yet have equipment! My map and navigation skills are not good, so would welcome someone with these skills so we don't get hopelessly lost. I am easy going and enjoy cafe's/coffee shops and a country pub but am not a big drinker.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Worksop hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I am Bill, an active outdoor guy who likes walking, naturally, but enjoys most sports outdoors, biking, caravaning, kayaking but not white water anymore, been there done that. For winter days I also enjoy line dancing and with the right partner, ballroom dancing, although I'm a bit rusty these days. While quite happy walking in a group, I am a member of the Ramblers, it would be nice to walk and enjoy the company of a woman. Most Ramblers groups are couples which is fair enough. Though still working part time I can usually manage to get out and about any day, with a bit of forward planning so I look forward to meeting new friends soon.

My Message: Hi, I am Mark and get out to walk most weekends. Sometimes during the week if time allows. I walk all over the UK and sometimes overseas. I am happy to do easy or hard walks, I just like being in the countryside. Recently I have been walking alone but prefer to walk with others who share an interest in the outdoors.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I love to explore beautiful Northumberland and have a chat along the way. It would be great to go further afield too,the Lakes or Yorkshire for example. I don't have a car but am happy to share petrol costs.
I'd like to build up my level of fitness but more important to me is just enjoying a walk. And if there's a nice café or pub along the way, all to the good!

I don't work now so am potentially free on weekdays or at weekends.

Look forward to hearing from you, Alison :)
