I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Whitehaven.

My Message: Now retired and living in the west of the Lake District I walk and cycle regularly and enjoy scrambling but would enjoy some company and that pint at the end with a hearty bar meal and lively conversation to round off a good day. I'm a non-smoker with a good sense of humour, very interested in wildlife, in particular otters and birds but also nature in general and landscape photography in particular. I have a campervan so get all over the country and to Scotland at least 4 times a year, the Isle of Skye being a favourite along with island hopping and Ardnamurchan whenever possible - I’m also trying to tick off more Munros - when the weather's good for views! I cycle, enjoy backpacking, have canoed and sailed in the past, I’ve skied many top French resorts over 35 years and enjoy a tough walk on the summits as much as a low level ramble stopping off to view waterfalls, a panorama or sunset or just to sit, reflect and share a magic moment in like-minded company. I particularly enjoy outdoor sketching in watercolour. If you fancy a ramble, a trek here or abroad, or a scramble, I hope to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Brighouse.

My Message: Hi I am 69 years of age and have loved walking all my life. Until recently I have done walks of up to 12 miles, mostly in the Dales but my husband and walking partner can no longer accompany me and I have been confined to just 3 miles a day with my 2 dogs. I am really missing doing new walks and in particularly the hills.

I would love to here from anyone (female)willing to accompany me on some new walks. I am quite happy to travel up to an hour. I now only have one dog capable of distance but I am happy to walk with or without dog.

My other interests are reading, gardening and the general outdoors and I do one day per week voluntary work. I am also a recently retired Endurance Horse rider so have a love of horses.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 20s, based near Hull.

My Message: Hey,

My name is Molly, I am 26 years old and live in East Yorkshire. I am looking for a walking partner as I find it hard to drag family members away on walks. I have done quite a bit of walking in the Lake District and in North Yorkshire. I enjoy all sorts of walks, long and short and consider myself quite fit. I eventually want to complete the three peaks but need to build up to it.

Send me a message! =)

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Rugby.

My Message: I am an experienced, fit walker with a particular passion for hiking and wild camping. I am going to the Pyrenees from 14th August for two weeks and would very much like to walk with a companion (my son was coming but very sadly he has had to drop out at the last minute). I intend to walk in the general area of Vignemale, Gavarnie, Odessa, Neouvielle/Vallee d'Aure - areas I know well from previous similar trips - it is stunning scenery and quite accessible. Typically I would would sort out routes for 3-4 days, camp out for a couple of nights, walking 5-6 hours a day and exploring.
I am retired with a now grown up family and love cycling, walking, climbing, sailing, the outdoor life in general. I enjoy meeting people, a good discussion about life the universe and everything, classical music, I know nothing about sport!
If you would like to join me on this adventure please make contact. Look forward to hearing from you. Bye - Laurie

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Bradford.

My Message: Hello everyone, there doesn't appear to be a page here to list walking groups, which is a real shame as I belong to an absolutely fantastic one. The only problem is, I live in Bradford and the group is based in the Lake district: I love my walking club, but it's a long drive (around 1. 5hrs each way).

Although I truly enjoy the journey, it's costly on petrol on my own so I can't go as often as I'd like to. So I was wondering if there is anyone in the Bradford/Leeds areas, or anyone en-route on the A65, who would be interested in joining me and sharing transport costs? I know it's a long shot, but hey-ho it's worth a pop. The club meet at 8. 30am every Sunday morning in all weathers and seasons. It's definitely a 'real' fell walking club - there are 3 grades of walk every week so there's something for everyone from the relatively gentle 'C' walks (usually around 8 miles and 1-3 peaks) to the astonishing 'A' walkers who are pretty hardcore (multiple hills and a LOT of ground covered in a day. A lot of them are climbers as well - I'm in awe to be honest). I tend to enjoy the middle ground of the 'B' walks with the occasional 'C'.

I'm not bad company (or so I'm told), and even better is that I don't drink and love driving ;D so if anyone is interested then please message me! (Oh, and to avoid any potential misunderstandings, I'm not posting this to find a boyfriend so males and females of all ages are very welcome.)

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Wakefield.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for walking companions either female or male. I would like to do reasonable walks of about 5 - 8 miles and looking for companions who like to do easier 1-3 type walks ( I'm not a mountain goat!) whilst also socialising with people with different interests (no forced marchers please!).

I really enjoy coastal walks and gettting out and about. I would like to mainly walk at weekends either local walks or further afield. I live in Wakefield in West Yorkshire and have a car so trips out to East, North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire prefered but I would consider travelling further. I also like camping and have my own "old" micro campervan.

If this message is of interest to you please let me know.

Best Wishes,

Diane

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Derbyshire.

My Message: Hi all. I'm a 37 year old male from Derby, whom has quite recently developed a passion for the great outdoors - a passion, unfortunately, not shared with my city-going friends. My walking boots don't get to see anywhere near as much terrain as they deserve to, and I'm hoping that this website can change that.

I am therefore, looking for some company, male or female - age not an issue - who enjoys the walking, the fresh air, the exercise, and especially the scenery as much as I do. Whether it's a quiet, easy stroll, or something more demanding over several days, I really don't mind. The weather is also not a problem to me - like any sensible person, I prefer the sun to be in the sky and a mild breeze to be in the air, but I also enjoy walks in varying climates as long as I remember to pack the correct gear! :-)

If anybody reading this post feels in a similar situation, then please get in touch and drop me a message.

I look forward to responding. Thanks. Matt.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Poole.

My Message: Hello my name is Carole. I live in Dorset. I walk at least 5kms every day as I have a very energetic young dog. At the weekends we walk upto 23kms each day over beautiful heathland - so I am fit when it comes to dog walking. I love the outdoors, enjoying the peace and solitude of nature. I want to expand my horizons and do some serious walking but not alone as tend to get lost however not interested in walking with an organised group. I work full time so weekends are mainly when I'm available. I am always up for a challenge and adventure - my last challenge was sailing, now seeking something different on land and planning to do the Camino de Santiago in 2017 so need to start training. Is there anyone out there who would like company on their walks?

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Worcestershire.

My Message: Hello, my name is Alex, I am a well spoken, well educated male, fit, slim, single, 55 year old, living in a beautiful, rural area of Worcestershire. I received an email a couple of years ago from a chum who was backpacking his way around New Zealand, and he was encouraging me to get off my bottom, see more of this island, and perhaps join a walking club.... so here I am!

In February 2016 I had a major operation, but all is well now thankfully. Initially, I would like to gently ease my way back into walking, until full fitness is restored. I regularly used to walk the Malvern Hills, all through the Cotswolds, and have done many, many miles in the West of Ireland when I lived there. I still want to walk my regular walks, but now I have a mind to cast my net wider, in search of some fresh challenges and experiences. My ideal companion who I would like to join me? Female, slim, bright, optimistic, good company, has a sense of direction (as my map reading ability is very rusty). Someone who would be happy to have a few well deserved drinks and a pub meal at the end of the day. I no longer have a dog, so if you do happen to have a four-legged friend who loves the outdoor life, and who of course loves me too, then even better. I have plenty of time on my hands, during the week and at weekends, and I drive, so if you are looking for some genial and intelligent company along the way, perhaps we should make a plan.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 20s, based near West Bretton.

My Message: Hi everyone, my names Laura and I'm 22 years old. I'm looking for a walking partner from Monday - Friday in and around Yorkshire/Derbyshire. I wouldn't say I'm one of the fittest out there but I'm definitely working towards getting better and better. At the moment I'm currently walking 6/7 miles a day in all sorts of terrain alone, so I'm just looking for someone to witness the beauty of the outdoors with me. I love all things vintage, absolutely love history (especially the classical history) and I tend to 'get on with' people of a higher age than me. Men and women my age into walking/hiking is incredibly hard to find. I would like to point out after reading some other adverts that I am looking for something purely platonic as I am not single. There is no filter on my ad on whom I'm looking for, whether it's a gentle troll or a tougher hike I am absolutely happy in both elements.

Look forward to hearing from you!
Laura.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Nantwich.

My Message: Hi,

I live in Nantwich. My wife and friends are not keen on mountains or high places so I sometimes walk with groups (clubs, walking festivals or charity events). Other times I walk alone. I am looking for new friends for occasional day or weekend walks (male, female or small group).

I'm easy going, and always up for a laugh. Ideally I prefer mountain walks in wild places, ridge walks, edge walks, anything with some elevation and views really. A bit of scrambling is always a welcome bonus. Also I like overnight walks to take in the sunrise over the mountains when conditions allow. Happy to do some lower level walks though particularly if the weather is bad. Ok with map and compass, never get lost, though occasionally I get delayed ;-)

Some people have said that I walk fairly fast, I’m not sure really so I went up Snowdon on one of the easy paths, good weather and an 8kg pack. Took just under 2 hours from car park to summit (about 4 miles and 3,000 ft. ) I think that is a steady relaxed pace but might be fast for some people, slow for others. (I can walk faster or slower though) Distance is no problem, really depends on the terrain but long or shorter days are fine.

Happy staying in Youth hostels, bunkhouses, camping, bivvy bag on a hill, etc.

My Favorite place to walk is Snowdonia (still plenty more to explore) but I would like to spend a bit more time on the high fells in the Lake District this summer and possibly do the Yorkshire 3 peaks (never done it but no idea why not). Scotland would also be good but may have to wait due to available time.

Open to suggestions for any new challenges, via ferrata, Caving, Sea to Summit, Perhaps Lakeland 3000s or Welsh 3000s (probably over a weekend though as I don’t think I am fit enough to do either of these in the 24 hours) I plan to retire in about 2 years so I will have more time for bigger adventures but for now I am limited to weekends though I can usually get away early on Fridays.

I love dogs, don’t have one at present but Border Collies are my favorite breed. I like them all though so if you have a dog that likes to walk that would be great.

If you fancy meeting up for a walk sometime please get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

Dave.

My Message: Hi. My name is Rodger and I've recently moved to Chester from London and I'm looking to meet a fellow walking buddy or group or just to make new friends. I'm currently training for a trek in the Himalayas in October/November so am up for a long hike at the weekends or a shorter local walk midweek. Obviously Snowdonia will be my first choice but am willing to travel, Peaks/Lakes/Dales or maybe a weekend away in Scotland. Feel free to send me a message, Rodger.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Crewe, Cheshire.

My Message: Hi,
I used to be a keen walker but seemed to have fallen off the beaten track for a while. With a bit more spare time (weekends) it would be good to get back into it again. I'm happy on any type of walk, whether it be the local Peckforton Hills, the Peak district, Wales or the Lakes and I'm ok with a map and compass. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Northallerton.

My Message: I love walking in the Cumbrian Mountains, the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors but, unfortunately, have nowhere near enough opportunities to get away and do so during term time. You may now have figured out that I am a teacher! I run the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award scheme for my school and I am a qualified ML(S). I am happy to walk solo but it's much more fun to walk with a companion. Most of my colleagues run a mile when I suggest a walk or a night's wild camping. So if any one is out there who might like to get together for a day out on fells or Dales; maybe even two, please get in touch. Tom

I am a Female Walker, in my late 30s, based near Nantwich.

My Message: Hi, I've lived round here for a few years now but am yet to find some like minded walking buddies who are not tied up with small children and the likes. I would really love to get out there into the great outdoors on some proper walks. I do lots of little dog walking ones locally but I'd really love to get over to North Wales for example or the Lakes or anywhere I can really escape from Nantwich. It seems such a waste to have all that on my doorstep and not make use of it!! So I'm hoping to find some like-minded people or a walking group I can go with so please do get in touch if your interested and not too far away.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near London.

My Message: I live in North London. I enjoy day walks in the Home Counties with a walking club I've belonged to for some years. I am interested in going further afield with another walker (m or f) for more than day hikes, perhaps revisiting some of the English national trails I walked in past decades. I don't rule out Wales or Scotland where I also know some areas. I like classical music, pub conversation, reading, crossword solving, planning and leading walks. For much of my life I have been involved in local politics but ready to give these a miss in my retirement. I am divorced with one grown-up daughter who lives with me.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near South Lakes, Cumbria.

My Message: Hi, I am a straight single female looking for walking companions/buddies Female and Male, in their 30's/40's /50's -hopefully forming good friendships, and walking buddies, to have a good laugh and chat along the way. I act and look much younger than my years. I don't take life too seriously and have a very good sense of humour. I love nature/wildlife, photography, and to end the walk at a tearoom or pub.
My preferred area is the Lake District (as I live in the Lakes), and Yorkshire Dales, but I 'am open to walking other areas such as Snowdonia, Scotland, etc.
I am a fit and active person, always up for adventure, who enjoys walking the high Lake District Fells, including some scrambling, but I also enjoy walking the valleys or along the lakeshores.
I have recently taken up to indoor climbing too.
I love Scotland and have been to the Trossachs and the Isle of Skye and trekked some of the Cuillins and the Quiraing which gave me a taste to trek more Munro's.
I have completed all 214 Wainwrights and The Pennine Way.
I like to take in the scenery and photographs along my walks, not frogmarch straight to the top! I don't mind any length of walk, but on average a good walk of 8-15 miles or even more is fab!
I hope to hear from you.
Ps- Border Collies are my favourite breed of dog!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Southampton.

My Message: What a great site to find, not as much as any hill or mountain top though. I'm a frequent walker, occasionally getting myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself that bit more. I guess you'd say I'm developing my navigation skills, occasionally using technology to help out. That said, I am comfortable using a map and compass and yet to get myself in any bother on the hills.
It would be nice to find someone willing to venture out onto the hills/mountains of our fantastic country. There's still so much to discover.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Harlow.

My Message: Hi there, I'm looking to meet new people interested in walking (funnily enough!), companionship and chatting - I'm a good listener ;). The last 3 years I have been winter hiking and climbing in the mountains around Glencoe learning navigation and avalanche skills, and the conditions were at times quite fierce! However, I now have a taste for some hiking outside of bleak winter conditions. With this in mind, whilst I do enjoy a tough challenging hike in the mountains, I do also appreciate the beauty of nature and can enjoy a much more gentle day in the hills with good company and an associated pub lunch! It would be great to meet someone who's been walking for a while since they would know all the good walks! I'm not a peak bagger (not sure if that's the correct expression!) but am not averse to trying any peaks that come across my path. I'm generally pretty fit because in addition to hiking I like to run, cycle, and swim, leading an active and outdoor-orientated lifestyle. I have my own transport and am happy to travel some distance to find a decent walk in the hills or mountains (I live in Essex so there aren't that many around!). I am free mainly at weekends but can do weekdays if I have enough notice and there is enough to entice me along as I would need to book time off work. Please drop me line if interested or you'd like more info. Look forward to hearing from you... Andy.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Shrewsbury.

My Message: Whether a gentle stroll or a challenging trekking holiday, I'm always keen to pull on my walking boots and head off to places best seen on foot. I discovered the joys of walking whilst training for the London Moonwalk in 2007, and since then I've covered many miles in the UK, including Hadrian's Wall and climbing Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell (although not all in one day) I've also spent a week walking in the beautiful french Pyrenees and completed two trekking holidays - in Kerala and to Everest Base Camp, both incredible experiences, and I'd love to do more e. g. Machu Picchu.
My other passion is skiing, and I've recently returned to the UK having taken a short career break to work in the french Alps last winter (the oldest chalet maid in town!) Now back behind a desk full time - suffering 'cabin fever' - I'm keen to get out walking as much as possible at weekends, please get in touch if you'd like to join me.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;
